TLOU Remastered screenshots (PS Blog)

I can't find better shot(like the zoomed out temple when you're near the entrance), but this is how GOW2 looked like :

I mean it's one of the best if not the best looking game on PS2, but compared to GOW3, I don't see any "whoaable" jump beside the lighting. Model and textures also improved a lot obviously, but I don't see much difference unless it's up close like this.

Some people here need to get their eyes checked.

No significant jump between GoW2 and 3... Every single day I think the internet has lost its ability to surprise me and every single day I'm proven wrong.

I feel ya bro.

The day I left my 13" display was the day I stopped making ridiculous comments like yours.

i have a 29" lg uhd monitor, a 60 in Samsung TV, from the screenshots im seeing, they look damn near the same, not the bump you'd expect with all the power tht the ps4 has, your effectively playing 50$ for 1080p & 60fps.

For most who say its the same or there or there abouts might feel a bit different when the bloody thing is in their hands! Its clearly not going to be the same given the improvements already outlined by ND. We just have to wait until its in our hands.

For me, it looks bloody great as a "port" with a 1 yr dev cycle.

you're only contribution to this thread is to try and refute some PS4 bullshot, really?
Do you have any interest in this game at all?

anywho:

2 WEEKS!!!!!

Lol come on man, he's allowed to start a discussion with someone if he disagrees with what they say, circlejerk threads are the worst, I'm sure you're not a fan of them as well.

You obviously play allot of 1080 games at 60 FPS to appreciate and understand it.

= I never try to see differences on my Laptop on forum or a you tube video, such differences I know will be apparent when I run the game on a Good quality TV at my normal viewing distance.

I can see watchdogs out of focus at 900p when playing it, it looks very poor next to most Ps4 titles, but I don't see it looking at pics on a forum.

Sadly, I usually pay $60 for a game and don't even get 1080p OR 60 FPS :(

You guys are intolerable. What are you implying that Evan Wells and Druckmann are lying? That the 30fps lock option is there because the 60fps fluctuates so wildly that people wouldn't be able to play the game?

No, it's just ridiculous that a company would apply a feature that intentionally impacts visuals in a negative way. It's like a Blu-Ray remaster including the original 480p dvd version for 'purists'.

It's insane and stupid that ND would pander to that. 60FPS is unequivocally better. This isn't subjective at all. Why would you double the performance if you didn't feel it improved the game? That's like saying you have no confidence in the design decisions you made.

I just can't wait for people to use this as ammunition that 'cinematic 30FPS' is better because ND included it. Have a 720p and remove AA toggle then. Let it fluctuate wildly in the low 20s like the PS3 version did in that case. Come on.

no I understand that, but I'm quite positive the two of them have absolutely no interest in the game what so ever being that I don't ever recall seeing them in any thread to do with the TLoU.

not gonna lie though, i'd still pay 50$ in a heartbeat (as i've already done) for 1080p 60fps, as i fell in love with the MP mode, 60fps alone will make online so much better, im just giving my opinion on the visuals, the first 2-4 pages are filled with so much hyperbole lol.

its a remaster. not a remake. you stooge.

Who are these people seeking locked 30?
does running it at 30 make the graphics better?

Infamous ss was great unlocked, I like seeing it look fluid as hell at times, rather than no so fluid at all.

This game at 60 will make it look like a new game, more sharp less blurry bloomy, why even add 30 lock? why add a downgrade option...again does it have any benefit?

because people who played it @ 30fps on PS3 might find 60fps on PS4 jarring, ill try both... im probably going to stick to 30 locked. same with infamous...(which looked better at locked 30 since the jittery look a variable 60fps gives off...)

Why is it when someone decides to give their opinion on a game NOT looking good, they always let us know what monitor or TV they're playing on as if that makes the opinion more valid?

Good thing most of us know this is a remaster and not a full remake and expected as much. It has nothing to do with the PS4's power.

It looks good but... not "I must buy this game again" good. My opinion, of course.

Still, good for those who didn't experience it on the PS3.

Doubt highly adding option to lock framerate to 30fp was some kind of resource intensive project. Having the option there isn't going to taint the game. Internet overreaction at its worst.

Maybe you should read the quote i was responding to.

Maybe you should ask yourself why you get salty every time someone starts listing what tv/monitors they own.

Looks like someone doesn't understand how framerate works.

Different artstyles, different size and density of visible world, and GoW has fixed on-rails camera so devs can go wild on small details by focusing only on textures and geometry that camera can spot.
GOW does not have a fixed camera..a fixed camera is from something like old Resident Evil. The camera in GOW can move, zoom, pan, tilt, and rotate.'s just scripted and the camera artist himself stated that they do not get any particular performance benefits from having a scripted camera. If you are talking about not rendering what's not on camera then every single game does that...it's called culling.

I'm so excited. I moved over to PC gaming 3 years ago. But I still used my PS3 for their exclusive titles as the last generation was ending. Playing Last of Us on a 55 inch 1080p TV always felt disappointing, just because I knew the art style was really great. I felt the same way about GTA V. These epic titles really would have been better at full 1080p and more power to back them (like PC titles were able to).

So it's fantastic to be able to play two games I absolutely loved, and have them look fantastic on my TV set up now.

And all the dlc that comes with it.

That almost nonexistent aliasing...

this was the biggest issue with the ps3 version, for me. Even a bigger distraction from the fantastic game as the frame drops, witch were in some cases really bad. But I personally never had a "broken" experience on ps3, as others mentioned.

But whats really the biggest plus for me is the photomode, what an awesome extra!

Oh that I don't know, I tend to be really bad at remembering people in forums. :P

Apparently mentioning it means I'm salty but after asking myself, I'm not salty. I just find it funny it's always something that's brought up in graphics discussions on either side. You seemed to ignore the other part of course.

How does this work? Do I call you salty now for a simple comment back at me and ignoring the other point?

It doesn't and I say that as a PC player mostly with no delusions over the PS4's power. This is a remaster done in a year yet people expect this to be a full remake. If the devs wanted to spend more time and make this a full remake, they could have.

Apparently I should expect remasters to basically be brand new games with only one year to work on it.

I'm only getting it for the MP and was indifferent on the remaster otherwise. I just wonder why people expected a completely different looking game given the clear message that it was a remaster mostly for people who haven't played it before.
