Nothing wrong with liking the Wii U version more. Just like that the PS3 version has user support and a few other things that the Wii U version is missing

I mean, don't get me wrong, I wish I could get her to stop using it, so I could reclaim my Wii U.

Can someone help me? I want to transfer my 3DS XL content from the stock 4GB SD card to a new SD card with 8GB of space. Unfortunately, I also have Animal Crossing New Leaf and I am scared shitless that by transferring my stuff to my PC, I'll lose my save data since I can't back it up on the SD card.

Help me GAF.

Just man up and do it. I doubt you will lose your data in a procedure like that. Also you can leave your AC save file on your PC as a backup I guess.

First impressions :

Holy Fuck this app is complex O.o

Layers, storyboards, frames, lots of tools, lots of options lots of everything.
It comes with 20+ tutorials plus lots of on screen helps and a game manual so it is ok.

Also the app looks to be even better for Pixel Art than I imagined .... the zoom goes to the ridiculous amount of 950% and the reticule tools have great potential to dithering!

It has a maximum size of 896x896 and it comes with lots of premade stuff.... including lots of manga cliches like "magical circle" stamp and japanese onomatopoeia xD

Only think that strike me as odd is that you have the "storyboard" and the "clean canvas" mode and after you go for the final art aparently you can't go back to the storyboard mode..... I didn't understood why this .... specialy since you can't have layers on storyboard and you can just make it on a below layer in final mode =P
But then again I only did ike 3 tutorials so maybe that is explained later ....

It took 941 blocks (for comparison Colors!3D has 212) with an "extra data" os 290 with a simple test image. (Colors have 554 blocks, but I have way more drawings there).

It is a completly diferent beast than Colors, for totaly diferent reasons.... it is ok to have both, specialy if you like drawing comics.

I give it 4,5 pencils out of 5
Cool, thanks for the impressions!

This will leave all of my AC save data intact, right? I don't want to start over after 100s of hours.

The act of copying data off of your SD card won't alter the contents of your SD card. So just do it piece meal - copy everything off your SD card onto your computer, put your SD card back in and make sure everything is good, then copy your stuff from your computer onto a new SD card and replace everything.

I know how you feel though. I'd be worried too about my game saves.

The same thing happened to mine.

I just checked - last month (June), she spent 60 hours using Netflix.
My most-played game was 24 hours of Mario Kart 8.

This month... She has spent 50 hours using Netflix so far already.
And, apparently, aside from the eShop... I haven't even used my Wii U this month =(

Yeah, I need to do something to get my Wii U back :þ

do you guys know how steamworld dig stacks on 3ds stacks up vs other platforms? i was thinking about picking it up but want to have an idea what the differences are

Question. Would it be possible for me to borrow a friends 3DS, log into it with my NNID, buy a game, beat it, and then unlink my NNID from the 3DS?

only played it on 3DS but from what I've seen of the other versions, there's not much difference really. I don't think it especially benefits from the features of any particular platform.

'fraid not

I really want to play Dual Destines though ;__; Why can't it be done? Couldn't he just unlink his account and then I link mine until I'm done with it.
3DS doesn't allow you to link and unlink that easily. Also, until Nintendo puts in a web-based management tool, I wouldn't trust doing it without going through Customer Service.

Gahh that sucks. How are you normally supposed to do it? You have to call Nintendo? Format the console? Buy a new 3DS?

Instructions says to re-format the 3DS, yes. You absolutely do NOT want to use the "Delete NNID" option in the NNID settings because that nukes your account.

Even if you do the re-format, however, I don't know if you can actually unlink your NNID from that 3DS and then link it to another 3DS seamlessly... other may correct me, but Nintendo has not made it clear that you can do it yet without calling them up and have them manually update their database.

The instruction make it clear that once you tie a NNID to a 3DS you can't unlink without Nintendo.

Also I doubt any 3DS owner would want to lose all their saves just so a friend could beat a game.

Once you format the system any data associated with it will no longer be recognized. You will have to redownload all your games and you would loose all you saves, photos and whatever else the 3DS stores.

OH YEAH I just remembered Azure Striker Gunvolt. That is actually my most wanted eShop game right now across both platforms. For sure.

Just got a release date in Japan of Aug 20, and I think the localization is being done in concert so hopefully will be released here soon after.

I'm really curious to see how that game turns out with all the dialogue and VA not being dubbed and whatnot. Hopefully the dialogue won't impede the flow of the game much. I'm really interested in that one.

I know I'm in the wrong month here, but I'm buying Shovel Knight, and I don't know if I want it on 3DS or Wii U. Has anyone dl'd the 3DS version, is there anything that makes it not optimal vs. the Wii U version? I'd rather have it portable than on the Wii U, but I dunno.

Help me gaf.

I have the Wii U version but people love the 3DS version as well. If you prefer it portable and don't mind missing out on Digger's Diary or the eventual battle mode, then I'd say go for the 3DS game.

Master Reboot coming out July 24th in EU and NA.

The trailer for this game really terrified me when I watched it in December....

I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean, but whatever you do, do NOT start Animal Crossing between changing SD cards. That will fuck up your save.

Copy everything at once from SD to PC -> copy everything to new SD -> use new SD. Don't do anything else between these steps and everything will be fine.

I meant more just load up the 3DS and verify everything looked ok e.g. icons are showing up. The poster just seemed concerned so I figured it was worth status checking for his sanity.

But thanks for pointing that out, I definitely didn't know that. Why would that be the case though? As far as I know the entire state of the game is on the SD card so as long as he didn't mind losing whatever progress he did while testing the first SD card, it should be fine?

Transferring data between the 3DS SD cards is actually pretty simple. I've done it like 5 times.

Turn off 3DS
Copy old SD card to PC, copy that data to new SD card
Put new SD card in 3DS
Turn on 3DS.

Animal Crossing has some ridiculous save protection nonsense. They've tried really hard to make sure no one dupes items or anything like that. You can't use an old save file in that game. It will be deemed corrupted, or if the game straight up tells you that the save file is too old or something like that.

If I remember correctly, you can't even go back to the latest save file once you've booted it up with the old save file. It really is ridiculous.

edit: forgot to add: there's four weeks of this, games for the first week are in the pic below.

I wish they'd let go off these NES games for now. Weren't they available for 30 cents, and then distributed as CN rewards months after?

By the way, the're 4 weeks of sales. 7 games each week.

Four weeks of #VirtualConsole #NES discounts ahead for owners of #NESRemix 1 or 2, starting with these 7 on 24/07!

List of games that, probably, we'll see.

NES Remix
Balloon Fight
Baseball
Clu Clu Land
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
Donkey Kong 3
Excitebike
Golf
Ice Climber
Mario Bros.
Pinball
Super Mario Bros.
Tennis
The Legend of Zelda
Urban Champion
Wrecking Crew

NES Remix 2
Dr. Mario
Ice Hockey
Kid Icarus
Kirby's Adventure
Metroid
NES Open Tournament Golf
Punch-Out!!
Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Wario's Woods

No brain age
No GBA
No super Mario kart
No SNES
No crossbuy

What the fuck NOA!? Who in their right mind is going to download an old NES Baseball game?

It's like NOA doesn't want to make money. These are all shit.

Where's all the GBA games?
Where's Super Mario Kart?
Where's Super Mario RPG?
Where's Donkey Kong Land?
Where's Brain Training?

I'm still pissed about NOA offerings this week. Do they seriously think someone is going to buy a NES baseball game?

Even worst; even if you do buy it, ya don't get it for free on the other system. You gotta buy it again!!

What the hell is wrong with them?

Where's brain age?
Where's super Mario kart?
Where's super Mario rpg?
Where's secret of mana?
Where's donkey kong land?
Where's Metroid zero mission?

What are you doing NOA!?

NOA won't do this.

No discount? Now that I think about it, has NOA ever done a cross buy discount? Always seems it's in Europe and Japan

NOA is the only region so far where they have yet to do a single cross buy discount at all. None.

We have been down this road before when we thought they were going to totally revamp their awards when they shut down for a week.

They most likely forgot or just don't have time. They literally don't care at NOA at all.

My guess is 30% off selected VC games. Yes they said it LIVE..the asian lady announced it

Of course not. NOA has NEVER given us a discount on any cross buy or promotion. Meanwhile EU and Japan constantly gets cross buy promotions, buy Pikmin; get discount on Wonderful 101 or whatever it was, etc. Zero zip nadda.

It's a shame that it's only in Europe yet but hopefully this cross buy operation will be appreciated and the technical contraints that prevented it to happen in the US will be fixed."

Wonder if this lines up with what I said earlier about NOA never doing a cross buy promotion. Before anyone mentions fire emblem and SMT, that was from club nintendo and not NNID.

What the FUCK NOA!?!?

Look at this garbage we get to choose from
FowAm39.jpg

Yeah...NOA won't do this. NOA released Bases Loaded and not super mario kart.

Fuck NOA.

For all regions except North America, because yanno NOA.

NOA is absolutely fucking useless.

Golden sun the lost age
All Castlevania
Metroid zero mission
Donkey kong country ports

Doesn't matter. NOA won't release them.

So, any idea when we're getting Metroid: Zero Mission? It's gotta be one of the next weeks right? Also, is there any chance for a promotion like 30% off if you own Metroid Fusion/Super Metroid?

Still, I wish we could get more attention with the SNES and GBA games.

I wish they'd do those launch discounts again (get 1 free if you buy the other two, etc.), but then again, they'd have to release more than one game a week again for that.
There's still a lot of NES games I want them to release, so please don't turn your attention away from the NES completely.

I really hope we can get Final Fantasy 1.
Japan got it a while ago.

I get your point. It's like when things start to get really good, they just abandon it.

This is a pretty cool promo but personally NES Remix 1 + 2 is enough as far as these games are concerned. I've had my fair share of SMB, Dr. Mario, Zelda and Excitebike over the years.
