Out of curiosity what games have "good AI"? It's a complaint that too many people have yet I don't know many games that have it.
Previous bungie games had good AI. It's the rhythm of the AI really....most shooters not halo offer target practice dummies that run too locations and shoot you until they shoot them, with little variance. Halo AI not only were really skilled at adjusting position for line of site, but would also retreat to fallback positions as the fight progressed giving the player a sense of progression. Add in the little stuff where shooting the elites made grunts panic and similar...that was some pretty damn good AI
Destiny AI seems to be defaulting to more target practice style with some halo esque line of sight handling. It is easy to flank them, they lean out and shoot and stay like that even when you are to the sides of them or inches away.
What I miss most though is getting guns from the enemies. Battles were entertaining from the first fight in halo since ammo limits and gun carrying limitations forced you to change weapons and styles on the fly. Now you stick with a class or style for better or for worse
I still dig this, but after playing the alpha these extra cinematics and storytelling are pretty flat and boring. They aren't pumping me up at all, and have very somber music playing througout , and am telling me little on wtf is going on. Ghost found me dead... Or something? Now I'm alive but following him around for some reason? Why don't I care to go. To my own home? Do I have one? No clue what's going on and am waiting for this shit to open up so I can grind more loot
