The more I think about it, the more I think Bungie made a smart decision on putting the level cap at 20.

I prefer to play Destiny for moment-to-moment gameplay, not grinding exp to gain levels. At the least, you can spend long and hard to unlock third-tier focus abilities.

Well at least it isn't completely useless and boring.

here is the photo (from the Alpha)

The final boss of the Last Array mission level 8 version counts towards the exalted hive bounty and is quicker than farming the strike

The most interesting things I've observed the AI doing:
- When zoomed in with a scout rifle a vanguard briefly exited cover, appeared to taunt me, and then quickly returned to cover

- On rare occasions packs will scatter (or attempt to scatter) and scream if I throw a grenade from long distance

The AI hasn't taunted me... or i haven't noticed it. Of course, i generally speaking initiate combat from either very long range, or with extreme force, and while doing that, i really don't pay attention to taunting. Now if it took potshots at me, that might work as taunts.

Haven't noticed the AI screaming when i throw grenades at it. The AI isn't very good at dodging them though.

I love the game. Played a lot of the alpha solo and a ton of the beta mostly with friends. With how much time I've spent on this the full game will consume my gaming this fall.

Not a big fab of the PvP, but love the story missions, explore area and strike. Have played them all a few times in each difficulty option.

Dax, what are your favorite guns?
Favorite primary: the Trax scout rifle, though I still haven't found a good auto rifle.
Favorite secondary: the sniper, though on occasion it's good to bring out a fusion rifle.
Favorite power weapon: machine gun.
And that's why I love the AI. People saying it's stupid are crazy. I can only imagine the AI when we have harder difficulties. It's going to be fun as hell.

Yeah, aside from some tweaks here and there, I think the AI is great.

We have similar tastes! I switched from sniper rifle to shotgun, since I can do light sniping with my scout rifle.

Agreed. AI is brilliant, as is tradition from Bungie. They know when to get cover, how to hide and sneak up on you, circle around cover during duels, and more. The only complaint I could understand is that the AI doesn't usually see you coming from far away and can be slow to react to your presence, but the "in the moment" AI is some of the best I've seen in an FPS.

If Halo is any indication, the AI is going to be exactly the same on harder difficulties. If you want to see what it feels like to fight Destiny AI with a damage penalty, make a new character and go to a higher level story mission.

Can't say i've observed any of that really.
I'm sure you've observed all of that, because most of those captions are just someone creating their own narrative over footage of some really basic behaviors.
All of their examples of enemies distracting/flanking/surprising the player come from them backing out into the combat area. None of this would happen if the player just stayed near the door. The Fallen didn't sneak up from behind, the player simply turned their back to it.
Rushing players who are out of ammo? Boy, that would be useful when I ran out of ammo during the boss fight and couldn't get anything interested in storming my little hidey hole.

AM I the only one who feels that the FoV is way too low for that kind of a game. There is alot of verticality going on, but your FoV is the lowest i have ever seen in a FPS game.

Furthermore i think i want to adjust the sensibility of the ADS movement. For sniping it is way to fast and therefore i am not very accurate :(

Any comments ?

Has there been any word on if we will be able to mix and match the cosmetic skins of our outfits but keep the stats of our best loot? I hope this is the case, because it's gonna get super boring if every class is decked out in the same end game gear.

Something that needs to be changed about AI is their agro range. It's too easy to just run away and the AI will leave you alone. On harder difficulties, I hope they are more aggressive.

So essentially it's pointless to reset, all it would do is sour people in the experience. Old Russia is not that exciting especially if you do it all over for a third time (or more with rerolls)
We can't be too sure if it would be pointless or not, for we don't know if there are some things during this introductory stage of the game that for some reason or another was left out of the beta, therefore making it difficult to let everyone start where they are now or something.

Also, now that I think about it, Bungie did mention somewhere that leveling was made at a faster pace for the Alpha than the actual retail game, so the same could be true for the Beta, meaning that we all leveled faster and would then gain that unfair advantage. Or something.

We also don't know what little things might change after the beta feedback that could affect this too.

*shrug*

AI is fantastic. Create a new character, and play through the highest difficulty in the beta, even when under leveled. You have to execute those head shots and you learn each enemy's pattern. I'm enjoying it so much I wish there were something with more challenge solo for the beta at level 8. I especially love doing the last story mission near the end. The deaths are punishing, reminds me of bonfires in Dark Souls.

Anyone ever complete that live event where you have to kill a Fallen boss before it reaches 6 checkpoints?
Managed to do it once with the Fallen guy and once with the Hive Knight guy (but only came across the Hive Knight event once anyway).

All the other times for the Fallen dude, I always silver tiered it. Always down to the last few hit points...

If, for any reason, you're interested in knowing the feelings of absolute boredom and repetitiveness, and don't want to play Borderlands, play PVE in Destiny. Pretty close approximation.

PVP is awesome though.

But seriously, PVP on Venus is amazing. Moon is alright, too open for my tastes.

I find exploring Russia still far more enticing than anything in BL, and I love BL a lot.
The AI in destiny is a lot better IMO, and those drop ships...

The amount of visual detail they've put into all the gear is simply stunning! Especially the higher levels. I wonder how big their art team is

I'd be happy with a belt or something that goes on the helmet. Heck a fucking book. But an armband? At least make them shine or have cool effects or something.

Agreed. The armbands are so unnoticeable it's pathetic. Even some of the later ones with holograms projecting out of them are still too tiny to really be noticed.

I did.

Achieving it without a dedicated fireteam and stun grenades is pretty darn impossible, I would think.

I only managed to kill it because either my or random guardian grenades kept slowing down his pace, on top of the fact that we unleashed our entire arsenal on him.

There was 4 of us to do it, checkpoint 4.

''Hurr durr. It's not even that impressive visually. It looks like a shitty last-gen game. Herp a derp! Should have been 60 FPS, durr!''

This is how I feel when it comes to some Destiny's complaints in the graphics department.
