I wonder if people who bail in online matches should get penalized? I've had a few matches where guys simply left early and it became 3v5 which made it next to impossible in Control maps. Getting owned because of that sucks.

finally figure out the best way to level guns and armor is to equip them before turning in bounties. almost guaranteed at least one upgrade for each item. didnt know the upgrades exp based, and not kills based like i thought.

Leveling was accelerated in the alpha, im guessing its the same as the beta - tweet from dev

I had to bail on a match once so far. I had to do because I was out of time and needed to head to work. I don't like bailing out on people but I had to do it.

I was disconnected 3 times in a row during IB. There was even a message saying that I would not get any rewards if I don't finish a match. Thanks Bungie but I really wanted to finish the match.

The server kicked me / my whole group from two or three Crucible matches in a row. Wasn't our fault, was the game servers, beta, but w/e. We weren't hating on it.

After the second or third time, a warning message came up threatening penalization if we kept leaving games.

Eh. There are some shitty disconnect issues, that although somewhat rare, do happen. Also, it's possible to get stuck, intending to back out, but failing to do so before matchmaking finishes.

I'd certainly hate to be penalized because the servers were iffy for a moment, or because my internet cut out for a moment y'know? Sucks when people really leave a game early just because, but I rarely see it happen. That said, I usually try to go in with a 3+ member fireteam x.x

Nine hours? Hah, didn't think it was nearly that long. Let's just say I'm enjoying this beta, and that after sucking at PvP once I am obviously too chicken to go back.

I never used a scout rifle in the alpha (I played as a Titan and stuck with auto rifles) but for the Hunter the scout seemed like a good pick and I've used nothing else since. My sniper rifle is a bit underwhelming in comparison tbh, Rest of my gear is pretty standard, I got the sparrow for the finding all 5 golden chests and splurged on a Phaeton 1.1 so my loading screens are as stylish and fast looking as possible. ;)

I hope they do as it really does ruin the game, although how will they implement it?

Hopefully like reach "you have quit too many games take a break"

I really hope they don't have join match in progress stuff, as I really hate that.

Also I am so excited that stuff like host booting will not be in destiny going to be RAD!

Plug your PS4 in wired for the best experience. On the other end (the vita end) be as close to the wifi access point as possible.
 
I don't think people who leave early a few times should be punished but people who do it a lot should be. I guess they will have a system to check for those players.

I don't know how to take a screenshot of the app on my Samsung S3, but here are my stats:

Kills- 770. Deaths- 318
Zones Capped-167 Score- 177430
Best Single Game Kills-38. K/D Ratio- 2.42.
Offensive kills - 63. Defensive kills-68.
Domination Kills - 45. Assists- 169.

OutlawOcelot on PSN. PS4.

Had almost 3.0 K/D then I butchered it yesterday via Iron Banner solo play...lol.

Same I like variety and voting has never led to that in any game I've played.
 
Even if we get a beta emblem for the sake of it being there I'm gonna have to go the iron banner emblem. Because my name is StarkWinterLager and the emblem is a bunch of wolves and a tree. Which are too close to the whole Stark family dire wolves and heart tree.

Yes I do feel sorry when people quit, but I don't enjoy starting in games where a team has complete map control... I'm just not that kind of guy.....

But like objective isn't pro....

I never used to veto objective in MLG unless it was king on construct, as BY GOD, when playing with randoms, it was THE most stressful game ever I must have had 3 heart attacks playing it.

Besides, the example you cite is a case of poor map/gametype combo, not necessarily stemming from a lack of a veto system.

Matchmaking in halo 3 sucked. I I want to play a quick game of slayer I should be able to, just like Neutral Bomb etc. They shouldnt lump in different gametypes in one matchmaking syatem, so dam terrible.

In that case people will keep voting fof the ggametye they want, or just quit. And then you have a bad voting system.
 
Catching up with the Datto videos from the weekend (having no internet at home sucks). So it's confirmed that all classes get blink if they choose the requisite subclass?

If Bungie ever segregated playlists by gametype, objective would be starved of players.
 
I hope stats reset during the retail release. I wanted to try out hand cannons--I found out they stuck. And now my K/D suffers as a result of that.

Nice! Aight man let's talk about this:

So, I'm guessing that impact scales highest on handcannons, then scouts, then pulse, then auto. So if you are a very accurate player, the handcannon won't have the diminishing returns of the lower scaled weapons (due to a potentially longer fight) right? Also, does handcannon dmg decrease due to range or can you snipe with them like Halo 1 pistol?
 
Funny that nobody likes objective because that's what I love. Unfortunately with no passenger vehicles in destiny (at least so far) looks like capture the flag might not happen. Shame as I love it.

I wonder if Bungie will add non competitive game types like in halo.

Oh fuck me. If they add a Griff ball equivalent forget about it my guardian is becoming a professional sports player.

Speaking of sports has any of you played soccer in the tower? Once in a while a soccer ball or a balloon appears and I transform into James Warlockdigrez.
 
Is there a list of the other PVP game modes that will be in the final game?

I'd love it if a Capture the Flag mode made it in there beside your standard team death matches and free for all

[excuses]I was totally lost on the map, the other team was outrageously good and streamrolled us, I was level 5 or 6 at the time, and I foolishly swapped out my weapons and gear before the start of the match and didn't realize I replaced my sniper rifle with a pulse rifle, etc[/excuses]

Yeah it was pretty bad, I remember as it ended thinking "that was awful" and still being shocked by the results screen lol. I'm actively campaigning Bungie now to ensure all beta stats and progress are wiped before retail release.
 
Is it just me, or is trying to herd a pickup fire squad to the mission on Devil's Lair the most difficult part of that area?

Due to the high respawn in the area, I keep getting grouped with players who take forever to get to the mission because as soon as they spot a red blip they run over to deal with it / end up dying / get stuck / wander off / squirrel.
