I agree. I don't hate the vehicles necessarily, but the fact that you can take them inside A, and capture Control Points while still in the vehicle is something that needs to be fixed, IMO.

Needs halo style energy barriers on the doors, can walk through but gunfire and vehicles can't

Guys, what is the best armour stats you have seen for a warlock? My highest was 146 defence, seems low.
151 when I posted it here today, and I've even found another piece of gear that drove that up by 8 if I remember correctly. I can't check it now though. Was definitely in the 155+ region though.

Gaf,

I bought True Detectives season 1, Lego The Movie and Dallas Buyers Club. Give me an order in which I should watch these so that I can cope with my destiny withdrawels.

Many weapons have an unlockable attack increase. Is this applicable in normal pvp because it is a weapon upgrade, nor not because damage is normalized?

The way I was told is that in normal PVP specific weapons take X amount of bullets to kill, so weapon damage upgrades wouldn't change that.

The only character I have is a warlock and my current defense is 150
154 on my Warlock

What armour is that?

People saying First Light is the worst map haven't played on Blind Watch yet.

What a terribly designed map for control.

Im loving Blind Watch. My favorite map yet, just ahead of Shores of Time. I love the verticality. Maybe its because I'm not burnt out on it yet but I really like Blind Watch.

I like that map. The verticality is awesome. First Light is by far the worst of the maps we've seen so far IMO.
Idk I don't find light all that bad. I guess I just don't find the vehicles to be an issues, cause I know how to beat them. Plus it's an awesome sniping map.

Mars if you start at A. You're in for up hill climb...up an active volcano. Maybe it'll be different in other game modes. But its by far the worst designed for Control.

And you can talk about verticality all you want. But all I see is shotgun campers at B.

"Maintenance" when none is needed?

It'd be cool if it was the Moon as some suggested, but that's unlikely because advertisements for the final build have been (idiotically) plastered all over the Moon's content.

It's also unlikely that it's something for PvP; that'd either need an extra game content download or be instantaneously activatable like the Iron Banner tournaments.

In all likeliness, it's some kind of public event that needs a server-end activation. Bungie wants to give everyone some kind of exclusive and permanent treat for the final build, but they're being sensitive to everyone's schedule, as the Iron Banner tournament proves. The easiest way to do that is through a revealed public event, especially because PvP is proving to not be the main draw for Destiny.

A PvP thing would be more likely than the Moon, though.

I'm pretty sure you can check it through Destiny tracker and going to your bungie profile. Actually, I guess you can do directly to your bungie profile and click gear

However, the real advantage is that warlock and titan do not lose their light power if they haven't land the skill after they activate it. This is what should be fixed IMO.

Playing as a hunter, and reading this makes me really confused about the choices being made. I've died countless times in the middle of popping the golden gun, especially to spamming titans and warlocks who felt like throwing out their special at the first sign of trouble. Bladedancer better be good, like I can extend it as long as I'm killing good.

The Lego Movie is a good movie overall, but it left a bad taste in my mouth for the way it treated its female character in the end: she lost all agency and she turned into the "prize."

oh well
"Maintenance" when none is needed?
How do you know that? You don't even know why they're doing it.

So what (if any) is the consensus on best class? I'm playing as a hunter—and I love me a hunter class—but warlock seems cool, too...
For PvE just pick whatever you like best.

PvP as it stands in beta = Warlock > Titan >> Hunter

Not much between Warlock and Titan but the latter doesn't have the armour bonus at present, and the former's special in particular adds a little more offensive flexibility. Both are almost invincible during their respective specials. Hunter is weaker than both and has no defense bonus.

Click here for my post with all my gear for my 151 defense Warlock. I have since gotten better boots, so I actually got it higher than 151 but can't check now.

It hasn't updated and can't connect to the servers to do so now.

I think it's unbalanced, but it is really fun to play when you're on the winning team holding B and C.

It's like Destiny: Horde Mode!

Mars if you start at A. You're in for up hill climb...up an active volcano. Maybe it'll be different in other game modes. But its by far the worst designed for Control.
Ah but the secret is to start at A, don't take it, and then rush to bravo and overwhelm them. As they die, they start spawning at A and then you take C and voila.

Why is that such a big problem? I just laugh at the people who drive their vehicles into A. Makes for some easy targets with your Super.

I don't know why people hate the Moon map so much. Maybe I'm just so used to games like Battlefield where there's so many vehicle threats in your surrounding. I mean the vehicles in this game have separate icons on the map, they always show if they're close and you can hear them clearly. They almost never go into the center of the map, and that's where you should stay if you're on foot. Only use the surrounding roads if you have a Sparrow, Spike or Interceptor.

The beginning of the game is also very predictable. Those with vehicles always go towards each spawn base and clash in the middle. If you're smart you find cover and help your team eliminate all the enemy vehicles. And if you have a vehicle yourself, stay behind eachother.
Pikes aren't bad at all. Interceptors, however, can get multiple kills off of one shot, and they're fast. It's problematic on a control map where you can cap a point without leaving your vehicle, move away from the point, and launch a missile with a huge blast radius into the point killing anyone that tries to take it.

It's like having a rocket launcher with unlimited ammo that gives you bonus movement speed and extra armor.

Don't feel too bad. I've died a lot using my Warlock super to golden guns or titans slamming down quickly. I feel like it takes a long time for the warlock to get their supers out but its area of effect is not too bad.

I've actually had a 3 death streak from various people using golden gun

You know, reading some of the posts in the other Destiny threads, I think I'd prefer to post in Destiny beta thread (Then Destiny OT eventually). I know there are legitimate criticisms for the game, but some of the posts are just like: ''Hurr, why you like this shitty game? It's not even that good. Durr!!''

Shield doors and shotguns are never a good idea.

If someone wants to use a shotgun on first light instead of sniper just because of energy shields then be my guest.

I'll be happy to make sure you're NEVER leaving that spot while my team holds two other points

First Light goes the same way every single time: The 2 interceptors and 2 pikes fly head-on into each other, the survivors go and camp B and grab the turret. Rinse, Repeat, Game Over. I know how to beat the vehicles too, but it's damn near impossible when they have sight-lines going halfway around the map in either direction.

I don't really like how squishy I am in PvP especially when it feels like my Titan is running through molasses. My turn sensitivity is pretty high so I can book it when I need to recover, but I keep forgetting I can't turn as fast when I'm running.

Using supers in PvP almost feels cheap because it's a guaranteed kill. There's almost no counter to them.

I think my problem is that I'm expecting Halo's multiplayer for some reason.

Are you playing with a group? Unfortunately all the things you described are consequences of a bad team allowing those things to happen.

How do you know that? You don't even know why they're doing it.

Come on, use some critical thinking. No one has reported server problems.

Go look at anything that mentions the "maintenance" in the gaming press. Every time, Bungie mentions that there is a "main event' for which the "rewards will be handsome and permanent".

I'm actually quite surprised I haven't been sniped more on that map.

this game has a lot of that. Is it because of the hardcore FPS crowd that only plays comeptitive??

I have seen so many..

HOW THE FUCK DO I PVP?? this boring story shit is the worst.

I'm really enjoying the PvP, but I am getting frustrated by the amount of deaths I get while in the air.
There needs to be a way to quickly descend to the ground while you're in the air/hovering, like a Hulk smash type move that does a little AoE damage.

so.. how many think this is the next big thing? is it going to be massive?

It's a waste to use a super 1v1. People who do so are only putting themselves at a disadvantage.

Fine, dude. You know everything.

Isn't it C captured first?

Yes the Interceptor is a real problem at the moment. I even think there is some auto-aim in place that makes it even more devastating. I've tried jumping away from it, like really far away and it always manages to hit me in the air.

Either they nerf it significantly or they make it so that only one Interceptor spawn once on the map, in the middle somewhere. If it blows up, that's it.

Feeling naked without my destiny beta!! Also it saddens me to see so many gaffers hating on the moon map! I love that map so much haha! I hope there's at least 2-3 more maps like that one. Yeah I use the vehicles like crazy on that map but I'm usually always in the top 3 players by the time the match is over. I really love the Venus map too but I get my ass handed to me pretty consistently there. I've had a few good matches though. Here's hoping they put the Mars map in a more frequent rotation when the beta comes back online.

Because bungie totally never said this maintenance was scheduled or anything
Like never ever
