I agree with you, it's Borderlands not Halo. The encounters, the mission structure, the skill trees are all right from Borderlands. Even the chests, loot and drops are the same almost. It's cooler, but it's a grinder just like BL. You basically will spend you time grinding for better weapons and then the enemies will rank up with you as you go to harder areas. The PvP was not the focus, this is not the next CoD when you have supers.

I disagree. I think there is a lot of Halo DNA in this game on many different levels (not just competitively). No offense, but thank god to the part I quoted in bold.

Have looked into it and still don't know what is going on with it :/

Will keep at it as it has been bugging the crap out of me.

EDIT: Well there is egg on my face. It should hopefully be fixed for when it comes back up.
Lemme guess - it was a tick-box you didn't have checked?! :D

If I'm not flying through a forest on my speeder in the full game, Bungie might as well burn everything down and leave video games forever.

You have one job.

I agree. The Halo theme kicking in at the beginning of a huge firefight or vehicle section in the game felt like a perfect match between music and video game. So far, Destiny's music does seem more cinematic and less likely to complement a firefight in the game. Though the music that played in the mission where you were activating the relay and holding off the Hive horde that came in was awesome. That was a very "Halo" moment for me.

I don't think Destiny will have many moments where I'll go "In Amber Clad, I should watch out for Snipers", or "Enough Dead Heroes", okay there might be Hunters nearby. It'll have a lovely score that compliments the gameplay, but he has taken a slightly different approach to how it does. I'd say he's scoring the story and not scoring the missions, if that makes sense.

But we'll have to see after we've played the story if that holds up or not. That part of The Last Array is already standing out for many people. If anyone's score can do that, it's Marty's.

Yeah that part was excellent. There was also another moment like that for me in one of the earlier missions. You walk into that really dark room and the Bioshock-like strings come on giving a creepy vibe, then the hive ambush you and some intense techno music comes in while you start shotgunning them in the face.

The Vault of Glass is the Raid that we know about, yes, but there are other Vaults and the naming convention is different. ____ Vault appears to be the naming style of certain areas on each Planet/Moon. So while they could all be Raid locations, they could still also not be Raid locations. It's impossible to know atm.

At this point we know Seraphim Vault is on Earth and Charlemagne's Vault is on Mars. Early information notes that The Thorn weapon is located within Charlemagne's Vault. So it could be that Seraphim Vault is also the location of an Exotic item or items.

The vault of glass is different tho. I'm guessing there's more then one.

Oh no, I know that vault that they glitched to is called the Serephim Vault. I was wondering why you said the Serephim Vault was only "one of" the vaults. Then I figured the other vault you had in mind was the Vault of Glass

So what's everyone's guess on the full content come September 9th (not including any add ons)

If there are 4 planets(venus, mars, earth, counting the moon as a planet)....I'm guessing....

- 40 Story missions, 10 per planet. ~10 hours to run through on medium difficulty
- 12 multiplayer maps, 3 per planet ~Infinite hours
- 8 strikes, 2 per planet ~ 4 hours to run through on medium difficulty with a team
- 4 explores, 1 per planet ~Infinite hours
- 1 raid (Vault of Glass), The Reef. ~2-4 hours

The per planet doesn't have to be exact seeing as how earth is much larger than the moon, but the totals are my best guess.

A question on PVE missions.

There is a level for missions, like say a the level 4 Exploration mission, but are there minimums and more importantly, maximum levels for missions?

Is it possible for 10th level players to jump into a level 4 mission?

You're forgetting the vaults. And is there really only 1 raid?

Well Bungie has referred to it as "The Raid" and that it will be insanely difficult, so I wouldn't equate it to what we know just yet. Strikes will have higher difficulty settings, no doubt. Barely even got a challenge in the Beta Strike, imo.

There will probably be multiple explores for every location on a planet and multiple locations, so it's more like 15-30ish missions per planet with 2-4 explore zones.

Even without any expansions, that's still a lot of content to last a year until Comet, which will probably add a few more planets.

But seriously I hope that somehow super bounces are in this game.

Is there really and point to the hand cannons in the beta? I really enjoy how they feel and all that, but they seem to be way behind the other weapons. If they only hold 6 rounds and reload that slowly, why not make them a lot higher damage? It seems like the green ones I've gotten so far are comparable damage to my other weapons but with a lot more drawbacks.

I can't even imagine using them in PvP where assault rifles decimate people so easily.

I was kinda hoping the single player content alone (conting expansions) would be in the 100 hour mark. Though I realize it's a bit unrealistic.

I'm honestly expecting there to be more than one earth location for sure.

If there were 40 story missions, and they were all as simple as the ones in the beta, then that would be pretty effing dissapointing.

And there's just no way there's only 4 zones in the game. That would just be incredibly dissapointing. I would consider it a huge failing of the game if there are less than 10 zones tbh. And my expectation probably hovers closer to 14-15 zones.

This game is supposedly this incredibly big and ambitious game that Bungie wants to virtually reinvent fps games with, and is betting it all on for the next 10 years. But what you describe sounds like the amount of content I'd expect their 125 man halo reach team to make. Not the 500+ man team making Destiny.

Prepare to be massively disappointed.

Multiply this by however many classes (or even sub classes) you plan to play.

Yeah I'd be very disappointed if there were only 4 zones too, and I honestly doubt there'd be only 4. Maybe not in the double digits, but 4? Old Russia, Moon place, Venus place, Mars place. That'd mean they showed off the entire game already, and they said that they were refraining from showing most of the content until release or something of the sort.

I'd really like to see grenades looked at.
Hunter grenades feel fucking useless, damage wise. Feels more like a poking mechanic.
Titan grenades serve purpose - Blind and disorient the fuck out of your opponents, or block off a door with a pulsing grenade that can fuck your shit.
Warlock starting grenade... just wrecks your shit no matter what. block off a cap point or a door hard, only grenade I know of able to get multiple fucking kills on enemies with full shield if they're stupid enough.

I'm with you. I thought there would be more than what has been speculated in the forums. I was expecting multi explore regions per planet.

Cosmodrome is about the size of the entirety of Halo Reach, according to Bungie.

So, your expectation is a game 15x the size of Reach.

Prepare for disappointment.
