I don't understand why people think even that constitutes as DRM, is it really that different from requiring an account to buy games and using a proprietary installer (that advertises other games the entire way through)? Games that don't require CEG to launch are DRM-free to me. Unless only the Humble Store is the only real DRM-free outlet (for games that are DRM-free of course).
What's the problem with that cover? I like it.

Yeah, I'm not really getting it unless it's some sort of anti-anime thing... in which case screenshots will be just as damaging.

This is how I see it. DRM you like is still DRM. See how GOG does it: either you can just have the .exe of the game and copy that anyway you want OR use their client in the future. They don't force you to run any other program like Steam.
DRM = Digital rights management
Completely. When you buy a game on GOG and download the installer, their involvement in your use of the game is done. You're never going to be impeded from using it because their servers are down, your internet's not working, etc. It takes away that unnecessary layer of bullshit that could prevent you from using your game.

I'm considering putting something together. Not even at home yet though ;_;

If you need help, give us a shout!
Especially with graphics.
Help would be welcome! Need to have some fancy PC stuff in there to highlight its features.
I think it's more a subtlety thing. The artwork we used for our cover seems contemplative and represents the feel of the game really well... whereas the artwork used for the Japanese release has more of a "TA-DAH!" feel to it. I always like to joke that Estelle's thinking to herself in that image, "I'm a-gunna hug ya'!"
They're both good pieces of art, but I much prefer the cover we used, personally.

It's not as much anti-anime, as it is anti-pandering. A lot of people are sick and tired of the usual JRPGs we get these days, so that those people are quick to dismiss RPGs thinking that it's something along the lines of your usual NISA published game. While Trails is nothing like that, it's easy to get that impression when looking at the original cover (and when you are already biased to a certain degree, anyway).

So, why is this game so good?
You own it or is this a rhetorical? Game gets frequently compared to Lunar and Grandia, the two model JRPGs for small localizing groups to bring over.So, why is this game so good?

I'm not sure how someone could draw the conclusion of FC being a pandering game from the JP/EU cover unless they were really biased. Its just Estelle making an energetic gesture with Joshua in the background. Fan service games are hardly ever subtle with their sexuality. I think the problem with JP/EU cover is that it looks simple in an awkward kind of way while the US cover looks more refined. It doesn't help that the art in the former is kind of off-model compared to the in-game portraits.
Does the game really have 30 cards or was that turned down for steam?
I wonder when the big dogs like Disgaea and Persona will make their way over. Anyway. This will be day one for me.

No, never played it. Want to buy it because I keep hearing about it on GAF.
Will it still have the voice acting?
English, yes.
The PC version has higher quality graphics than the PSP version (the sprites and textures were reduced in quality for the PSP release), and is 60 FPS on even 10 year old PCs. They're also bringing all of the PSP extras back to the PC version, and adding widescreen support and Steam achievements, etc. so the PC version will be the definitive one for sure.

Nice to see more JRPG's on steam! What does the game compare to gameplay wise? Grandia?
