It isn't because you're a Warlock. Aim for the head.tl;dr
I die a lot in MP. Is it because i'm a warlock, because i'm crap or because i'm crap and a warlock?
Yes.
supposedly if you make your party before starting the game it doesn't happen though.
Perfect response.
Question:
Will class items like Capes, Bonds and Sashes ever provide stat boosts or provide skills the way other armour pieces do?
Or are they purely cosmetic?
Agreed completely. Jigoku SR3 is my issssssssssh son!Look at that impact stat. I need this rifle in my life.
I'm dead serious when I say that my enjoyment of the PVE combat in this game doubled when I found a high-impact scout rifle.
I seriously can't go back. The headshot damage is just so satisfying, both at long range and up close.
Cosmetic.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who found the Beta gameplay to be bad.

Well, the game doesn't let you into PvP until level 5 or 6, so at that point, it's just a matter of getting an upgrade-able green gun as your primary. There's actually a good chance that you will have that by level 5. I think people are recommending getting to level 8, because that's the point where it all comes together and you start "understanding" the game.
When leveling up my second character, I took it into PvP as early as possible, and I didn't do much worse than normal.
Wow. I'm liking the look of all those upgrades. Can you see what they do?
The accuracy penalty when you are not on the ground really sucks, and the more I play, the more annoying it gets. The game would play so much better without it...
Please Bungie, remove that awful mechanic from the game.
First Column:
Kinetic Damage
Second Column:
Steadyhand IS
Stable sight. Optimized for excellent recoil control.
Truesight IS
Flexible sight. Light, with good recoil control. Strong target acquisition.
Ranged Lens RLS3
Mid-range scope. Good effective range and recoil control. Heavy and slow.
Third Column:
Third Eye
Radar stays active while ADS.
Fourth Column:
Upgrade
Inc. weapon attack
Fifth Column:
Explosive Rounds
Volatile payload explodes on impact dealing a portion of the weapon's damage in an area.
Relic Iron Rounds
This ammunition considerably improves impact but fewer rounds can be carried in reserve.
Skip Rounds
Ceramic-jacketed rounds ricochet in hard surfaces. Their extreme density lets you carry more rounds in reserve. Added mass slows down weapon handling.
Sixth Column:
Lock In
Increases Attack but locks in all previous choices.
Yeah, but at least the mismatched colors for Titans kind of go together. The mismatched colors for the Hunter look like puke.
warlocks are gods at doing everything else.

What's the difference between green and white armor? i.e. if I have a white leg piece that has 29 defense and a green leg piece with 22 defense (and discipline???), isn't the 29 better even though it's white? And what is the discipline for??

Warlocks getting shafted hard then. Stupid armband.
Oh well, it balances the game out a little seeing warlocks are gods at doing everything else.
I've only played as a Hunter in the Crucible so I probably should try another class. However, the fact that I should have a green gun to play Crucible seems silly.
My bigger concern is what happens in the full game when there is a level 20 cap. Should I wait until 20 to play Crucible? Should I wait until I have a legendary gun? The balance just seems off both in level, abilities, and guns when dealing with PvP.
Is there a detailed breakdown of the differences between the classes somewhere? I've played Warlock and Hunter, but I have not reached level 8 with either.
Discipline decreases your grenade cooldown. Hover over the icons next to your armor column in your character sheet and it'll tell you what Discipline, Strength, and Intellect do.What's the difference between green and white armor? i.e. if I have a white leg piece that has 29 defense and a green leg piece with 22 defense (and discipline???), isn't the 29 better even though it's white? Huge list of upgrades
I'm glad I'm not the only one who found the Beta gameplay to be bad. Don't get me wrong...the world is beautiful....but I would gladly give up detail for better mechanics/physics/story/voice acting, etc. First I want to know why there are only 3 classes. Their easily could have been 2 more to mix it up. They couldn't make a better create a character than the few preset options? I couldn't rotate my player to even see if her was long or short in the back(really this is the least of my worries). Next...I thought this was supposed to be a MMO. It's not. I also though this was supposed to be an RPG....seems to me once you open the other There are other people in the world, however there is a limit on the amount of players. And not only that...Im pretty sure there is a limit to the amount of people you can explore with. I enjoyed doing the missions at the time...but in retrospect...they were pretty shitty. Go to tower(loading). Go to orbit(Loading). It was a load fest from the very beginning. I hope that's just because it was the first set of 5 missions but if what we saw was a precursor of how missions are done and what is to come then I'd have to go out on a limb here and say Im not looking forward to it. Go here...listen to an un-animated ghost. Go there...kill a few guys. This has been done before hundreds of times. This game feels like Borderlands with a Halo suit on. Soon after I beat the missions and decided to give pvp a shot, I was at a level 5 with a few upgraded pieces of gear upon entering. I did not enjoy my time playing it. In fact...I turned it off completely after about ten matches and went to play Dark Souls on my 360. I found this to be the most horrible part of the game. After having realized that being 3 levels lower than the rest of the people playing(who were for the most part all level 8) that I was super underpowered. I would get one shot nearly every time. Even when I was firing first...my weapon seemed to do minimal damage. So between being jelly and trying to stay safe from the vehicles(most OP vehicles of any game in my opinion) I just couldn't get into it. Not only that...I found the pvp to be really slow. I started a Warlock class and the double jump/float is god awful. Running feels more like a power walk and Not only that...the amount of one-hit killers in the game is ridiculous too. If I wanna play one hit kills, I'd go play hardcore in CoD or better yet Golden Gun on Goldeneye for the 64. (Bungie has their own Golden Gun btw). Also, what's up with the lack of blood or oil coming from the machines? Shooting thing's doesn't cause some kind of reaction? Im not even a proprietor for blood in games. That said, Im sure there are a ton of fanboys for this game already and that's fine, but to me...Bungie seems like they just didn't want to let Halo go. Everything about Destiny screams Halo to me. The "Fallen"(might as well have been called the "flood"...still starts with an F) arrive in ships and jump off the platforms just like Halo. The sniper looks and feels like the snipers in the Halo franchise. The Guardians all feel like a wannabe Master Chief...especially when they put their helmets on. The Sparrow is a watered down ghost and your Ghost is a wannabe Cortana.
Look...I realize it's "Just the Beta". But let's be real. The game isn't going to change all that much. Truth is that the FPS genre just isn't what it used to be and sadly Destiny is not the future of the FPS. It's just another chapter In a book with all the same shit as the other FPS's out there. They're working on a few things they can tweak but mostly they're just making sure the network wont crash and the servers are operating correctly for launch day and leaving themselves a window for repair time. . What, because I get to change boots and gloves I'm supposed to be impressed. I will be picking this game because I love to play Coop....but...I feel it's only going to grab my attention for a few weeks or so. It reminds me of Titanfall in the fact that the hype has surpassed the final product. I feel like game developers and the producing companies need to stop the Pre-release hype and possibly cut down in advertising. They need to figure a way to keep the mystique. I think the biggest fault is that this game does not identify itself as new and fresh...it's being compared to Borderlands and Halo so much that it turns this into a comparison match. For this game to have been "Great"...It needs it's own personality...and the one we were shown is just another sci-fi shooter.
Multiplayer is definitely imbalanced if someone comes in expecting an even playing field with any gun. This is not the case. I got smashed until I got a worthy weapon for PvP.
The Beta seems alot easier than the Alpha or is it just me?
Discipline, Strength, and Intellect speed up your cooldown periods for powers. Many greens also have another bonus on top of those stats and defense.
Thank you kindly. I knew I read about those somewhere, just couldn't remember where.Discipline decreases your grenade cooldown. Hover over the icons next to your armor column in your character sheet and it'll tell you what Discipline, Strength, and Intellect do.
I'd take a piece with worse defense and Discipline on it over a higher defense piece any day.
So int ps4 play through I was a Titan. It was fun and the super punch helped a lot.
In the xbone beta I chose a warlock and holy crap how much easier it is to play a warlock!
The grenade type alone almost kills everything dead.
[...] locks in all previous choices.

What is with this mechanic? It seems to be on everything but I don't see a limit to unlocking everything.
ive exactly the same weapon waiting for me![]()
I get a network error every time I try and access the tower. Anyone else?
All this new Warlock love is hilarious.
