Nickelodean has got to currently be one of the worst run kids network out there right now. Are they the sister channel to NBC? Serious question.

why the heck is Book 3 being referred to as "Season 2"

This is season 2. We only got the Legend of Wan episodes last year, remember. :D

But yes, it's quite strange to make a mistake like that. It'll probably be fixed soon... or else more confuse will ensue; which is apparently what nickelodeon wants.

Pretty much all the kid networks are bad now a days what with Cartoon Network and how it treated Young Justice to Disney and its treatment of Tron Uprising and Motorcity
Really not been a good few years for Western action animated shows

soon all these channels will just have stoner-kid inspired shows that came from Adventure time and regular show

According to Bryan, Nick considers Books 1 and 2 to be two halves of a single 26 episodes season, and Books 3 and 4 to be two halves of a second, final, 26 episode season. That's why the number of episodes per book kept changing. You can also see this in the episode ID numbers on Nick.com's video section.

PREDICTION

Book 3 will have a immense ending which leaves you begging for more, ala ATLA book 2.

Book 4 gets cancelled by Nick. We are left forever wanting more.

The scars of the young justice cancellation only just healed :(

I don't want to feel the megaman legends 3 pain ever again. Dammit people, stop ending on cliffhangers and not making the sequel.

Weekly? Really? Fuck that accomplish. Oh so Nick can still get its shit ads in on Nick.com for those that don't want to pay.

Fuck me. Not like this.
Weekly is stupid. Just go full amazon season I'll pay. Then release it weekly for free fucks. What a stupid decision. Well at least it isn't cancelled. But season 4 prospects are looking bad. I guess we gotta hope that amazon or Netflix puts in some investment.

Well at least its going on quite a few platforms
Still would have preferred all of them in one go than weekly

Thing is, Nick.com's player is ass. The quality is an embarrassment and the player is garbage. At least with the old TV weekly format you could get it in full HD and skip commercials with DVR.

What they are doing here is basically the same thing before just without the free HD tv version. So everyone else that wants it HD now has to pay for it digitally, and has to wait 5 weeks to finish up because Nick wants to get their ads in on a downgraded version.

Fuck everything about this.

Those fuckin assholes. Why would you release it weekly online now if you're not going to bother airing it on tv?

Put it all up at once and I'll pay for the whole season.

Do it you dimwits.

Lmao weekly? Online? Lol they must be trying to test this out and see if they can still get good hits on their site and letting korra take the hit for it.

Might as well dump all the episodes at once at this point

Yeah its not the best I remember trying to watch the last two episodes of Book 2 on it issues galore
Going to be interesting seeing how Nick handles the first episode on its site on August 1st wouldn't even be surprised if it crashed

But trust Nick to even screw up releasing it digitally

Creators says not to worry about season 4 since its being animated right now as we speak. Basically its too far along in production to be canceled.

It becomes more of a question of how it'll be made available at present. It most likely they'll finish everything up online, but with Nick's current track record, who knows at this point.

You can bet jurassic that it will air online or on amazon though and never get picked up for more seasons. Hence my hope that they estimated this and made season 4 a decent ending. No more makorra plz.

So is Korra getting a new season, or is it cancelled

There should hopefully be answers at the Korra Comic Con panel tomorrow about the fate for Book 4 as they are already pretty far into it
Just a matter of how we get it now
Michael Dante DiMartino about the state of Book 4
And there is most definitely a Book 4. All the pre-production is done and Studio Mir is hard at work on the animation.

So is Korra getting a new season, or is it cancelled

Well if you take the creators word, Book 4 is pretty much okay (since pre-production is over, and Studio Mir is heavy underway animating it). So we can infer that, Nick has already paid for them and won't be pulling the funding (but we are just making an assumption, as only the creators know what their contract says).

I do think we'll get a Book 4. My guess is? Nick will probably try to re-launch THE FINAL SEASON OF KORRA in a year from now. Just a final push. And we'll probably get like half of the season on TV and half digital. Or maybe it all ends up being digital. I dunno. I just feel like they might try to pump up the final episodes like they did ATLA. And maybe try to make an event out of them.

Doesn't matter what nick tries. Nothing in this world could get me as pumped as I was for that 2 hour last airbender tv special. Dat movie length finale.

Yeah, I agree. I just wouldn't put it past them is all. The fact that they are still holding on to Nick.com + weekly ads, tells me these assholes aren't ready to completely let go of old ways, and try something new.

But one thing is for sure, Korra is definitely probably considered a failure by Nick. And there definitely won't be anything ATLA world related for some time (at least, with the creators on board). This whole experience has been soured.

Wait, etc is going on? Will korra air on the network for the next few weeks, or is it going all online?

It's going all online. This week is the last episode to air on TV. Then after that, the remaining 5 episodes will be released weekly online (Nick.com shit quality), or you can pay for an HD release on iTunes and Amazon. Say goodbye to the free HD TV version lol.

Don't forget next year is Avatars 10th Anniversary
Would be a nice idea if they moved it back to Saturday where is was clearly working and heavily promote it as the final season as you said whilst also making a big deal of its tenth anniversary

But knowing Nick they'll just screw it up even more somehow

What the hell? This is awful. It better be on iTunes too or I'm gonna scream.

Yeah, they don't say iTunes..huh...

And also, Book 3 still was never added to iTunes (I mean, all previous episodes). Fuck me. Also lol, no this doesn't work in our favor at all. It's the same shit we are already getting, just with a downgraded quality, and those wanting to pay for it having to wait 5 weeks to get the rest of the season.

To be fair korra has been largely a failure so it's not surprising nick considers it that. It's just been a clusterfuck of not knowing how much they had. We had a bullshit end to season 1, a horrible first half of season 2 in animation and writing, and low ratings. And that's not even going over how much writing issues there are compared to atla.

It's sad to see an avatar show go in such a way but hopefully the franchise will be kept alive in other mediums like games and comics.

So it's officially being cartoon networked? This is bullshit.

Nick said:
Thousands of you have been asking to watch this incredible show online...

We asked for it to be available on digital mediums shortly after airing on your network. We didn't ask for it to be stripped from your TV schedule.

Ice cold, haha. On the other hand,

Looks like we should get the first footage for it this weekend? At least there's something to look forward to!

I wish there was somewhere where I could get word on an iTunes release. Doesn't this show have any kind of official Twitter account or anything?
