Man, the whole "no strings" thing is brilliant. Very Ultron, very nice one-liner, and a pretty cool theme if they run with it.

Both trailers sound great. Hoping we get some footage.

Also, for someone who like the MCU but doesn't read any of the comics at all, can someone explain the strings line?

It's nothing from Marvel (as far as I know) it's a Pinocchio reference. You can hear an ominous version of the song as the background music.

DEAD @ no strings... based Disney/Whedon. I need video of this, like, NOW.

Do these trailers ever get revealed, or are they permanently SDCC exclusive, and we get other trailers down the line?

When can we expect the first trailer released to the public? GotG?

Edit:

I don't think it's anything specific to the comics, just a theme for the film (puppets?).

Telll me about it! At the end what were people freaking out for. Like he says I have no strings then they start clapping and then they go crazy again? At 4:10 specifically? More footage? I thought it ends with Ultron's line?

I think they were also freaking out about the Hulkbuster vs Hulk fight.

It's a Pinocchio reference, not a comics one.

So he's just saying no one is controlling him?

Pretty much. Ultron is a machine designed (presumably) to keep peace and to serve the Avengers. Now he's a "real boy" instead of just a puppet - he's achieved sentience, gone rogue, that sort of thing.

That's why you hire Joss Whedon. The man knows his shit.

We probably won't see a trailer until around November. Then a better look in February/March.

And the line isn't really a Marvel reference. Just a cool line referencing Pinocchio and how Ultron is no longer their puppet.

In the future I doubt AI will still sound robotic (we're already pretty close to human like). As high tech as stark industries is, I don't think they'd have a robot sounding Ultron.

Bets on this premiering with GotG?

I would be really surprised and disappointed if one of the two stingers wasn't related to Age of Ultron. It probably won't be a big four minute thing like what was shown at comic con but a shorter trailer that shows pretty much nothing like the one that was attached to First Avenger would be great. BELIEVE!!!!!

Almost all the stingers have tied into the movies they're attached to in some way or another. More often than not, they're an epilogue to the movie, not just a random tag.

Iron Man 1 = Nick Fury approaching Stark about his now-revealed superhero identity and the Avengers Initiative
Incredible Hulk = Ross talking to Stark about the Avengers Initiative (though this wasn't a post-credits scene, it served the same function, and was later elaborated on in a one-shot)
Iron Man 2 = After saying he has to leave for Nevada in the middle of the movie, we see Coulson finding Thor's hammer
Thor = Selvig getting brought in by SHIELD to work on the Teseract, where we also see Loki is still alive and interested by the relic.
Cap = Now that Cap has woken up, we go straight into an Avengers trailer which pretty much is Cap's reintegration into society.
Avengers = Thanos wants to go after the Avengers after Loki has failed him. Also Shwarma.
IM3 = Tony was actually just talking to Banner the whole time about his problem.
Thor 2 = Volstagg and Thor give the Aether to the Collector. And Thor returns to Earth and Jane.
Cap 2 = Von Strucker is not concerned now that Hydra has been revealed, because they have 'the twins". And Bucky finds out the truth of who he is.

All of these still tie to the movie at hand. We have no reason yet to assume Guadians ties in with Avengers 2 in any way. If anything, it has more to do with Avengers 3.

I'm not expecting it, honestly. As far as we know, there's no cosmic/Infinity Stone element to AoU, so it's hard to see what plot threads from GotG could be used as a lead-in.

There are still some loose threads that could tie in. Loki's staff is still with Hydra, and we know the twins are initially with Hydra. That doesn't have anything to do with GOTG, of course.

But... thanos/infinity gauntlet? Unless he's just in the Ultron stinger?

Thanos will likely be the GotG stinger. Maybe part of the stinger in Avengers 2 of like... I dunno, Loki's staff starting to react or something, as are the other Infinity Stones. I'm spit-balling, but there's generally been a lot of thought put into what those stingers usually are in terms of providing enough information to the viewer but still setting up what's next. They, at the very least, make sense in the context of the movie you just saw.

My ideal scenario is the stinger involves Spidey coming into the fold and that's why Marvel grabbed that May date and Sony pushed ASM3 to 2018.

Wishful thinking I know but that's a thanos level surprise.

I want spider-man in so bad :/ The amount of money they'd make by paying off sony would justify the cost, I'd hope. Hopefully sony would play ball, if asked. Spidey would be a perfect Avengers 3 add, as far as marketing goes.

Not the Spidey shit again. :(

Unless they're dumping Garfield and starting over with a proper Marvel Studios Spidey, then this should never happen.

I know it won't happen, but a man can dream. I'm sure this has been talked about extensively in the community, so I'll drop it :p
