why is everyone ok with nothing but remakes? I kind of regret purchasing both consoles..so far i have if you dont play assassins creed or call of duty its a giant waste, because im getting nothing but games from last gen and new assassins creeds
Don't worry. These are stop gap measures. It won't go on forever. The new engines just take time. Devs are having to build the foundation all over again. .. but it's a bigger and more complex foundation. I get your sentiment though.no please stop

Perhaps but people will be plenty busy with witcher 3, batman, battlefield, and whatever else was scheduled for early 2015.

An HD port does not cancel a new game. The resources used to port the game wouldn't be enough to fund a new game retail game. You might be able to fund a small indie game that people will ignore because reasons.
Why do people think it works like this? People need to stop looking at the HD ports/indie games vs new games/retail games as balance scale and look at it as a basket.
The trend won't affect you if you ignore it. All of the big and promising new software is coming, It just takes time. Q4 2014/early 2015 is looking great exclusive wise. We already know holiday 2015 is going to crazy with Halo/Uncharted and there's a lot of 2015 games with no release dates yet.I hope so, I guess I just dont remember last gen what it was like the first 7 months after release. Just feels like a waste so far
I dont think its stopping production on anything, but i dont like the trend.. And i'm just stating my case that i have 2 brand new consoles that act as netflix players currently... and I just dont understand the hype around all these remakes

Nobody has said they want nothing but remakes. Gears is a big series, Halo has a great collection coming in November and people who like Gears want the same.
It'll probably be outsourced like Halo is which doesn't affect the development of the next one and will be a nice thing to play. Personally I think theres plenty to play, but thats just me. Early adopters know what they're getting into

Halo MCC is MS biggest for this year, it already has so much content to be shown and lot of unknown answers. They have whole next year to hype and release Halo 5 stuff. There is no way they will have anything for that this year. Not sure why people even expect that, they already have so much ground to cover. I would personally want to see gameplay from all Halo games with HD resolution, ranking system, ViDoc, more trailers from campaign and multiplayer from Halo 2 and 3 and the list just goes on.

Also, I'm looking forward to it, but is it just me that thinks that the world of Quantum Break looks like it's made out of plastic? I mean, look at the gif on the first page. Everything just looks so plasticy. Still should be good though regardless.

Why? Its not like theres a market for platformers on xbox...Come one MS, reveal a new Banjo.
We do have the beta is December so they're going to have to show something soon.

I wouldn't count on it. Most likely after the MCC releases. They have more than a month before the Beta comes out. So definitely during that time they will show something.

I could definitely see them doing a live gameplay demo of a beta map to at least tease it after showing off Zanzibar or Coagulation gameplay from the MCC.
Halo 5 beta access will be a selling point (along with the tremendous value of course) for the Master Chief Collection so I doubt 343i and MS will wait that long to show us the game.

I'm hoping for either a full cutscene from Halo 2 Anniversary, or another trailer with new snippets from various other cutscenes. Also, hopefully another terminal trailer.
They also need a super trailer, showcasing Halo 1-4.
I wonder if they will go all in with the marketing for this collection... live-action commercials, etc.

Theres as much a market for them on xbox as any other platform.
It was good the last time. It just wasn't the kind of Banjo game that the fans wanted.

It Might be time to bring back some family fun platformers. The demographic has clearly changed as games like the Lego Movie videogame sold more copies on XB1 where as im pretty sure CoD:G sold more on PS4 (though I'm not 100% sure) I think a proper Banjo game would sell well if the game is actually good this time.

Judgment needs to be included. Had the best gameplay/graphics of the lot and Overrun is very fun. Obviously they made big mistakes with the multiplayer and the campaign is good, not great I want it all in there.
Plus they better include all the DLC and extra single player stuff including the Gears 1 chapter

It was clearly the most refined in terms of movement of the characters which you'd expect from a 4th entry in the series and the graphics had the similar improvement too...
was the term "Refined" changed to mean "plays more like CoD" in the gaming industry?
Gears was changed from a tactical, cover based, team game to another run and gun, 'see how many kills you can get', snooze fest.
Gears and Halo used to play like nothing else out there, which was part of their great success. Now they play like just about everything else. If Gears and Halo aren't restored to their former greatness MS is in for a horrible time this gen.

It was a Gears of War game. I've already said they made mistakes - no horde, the multiplayer in general except Overrun which I thought was a decent upgrade on Beast mode, the campaign having the whole arcade thing from Gears 3 being the main part of it but it wasn't some travesty...

We will see Halo 5 before the collection is released. Keep in mind the Halo 5 is a major incentive included with the MCC .
