A lot of stuff at the bottom is from the Spotify blues station, turns out that my phone hasn't been scrobbling for a while.

this past week i've been listening to sylvan esso (who i just discovered) and daft punk. i also had a nice little rock block of grateful dead friday evening. that wasn't my doing, but i enjoyed it none the less.

edit: to get them more exposure sylvan esso "coffee"

The-Dream's new prequel EP is fairly decent with a pretty varied group of songs. The song that caught me, at least, beatwise was obviouslly the closer with the classic Mobb Deep track. This song is hella funny because The-Dream is actually like the most bitchmade dude ever. Complaining that some girl is listening to other R&B singers like Trey Songz, Drake, and The Weeknd. I think it's colder than he doesn't even mention Jeremih, who I'd also listen to before I turned on The-Dream these days.

Twin Peaks - Wild Onion

These guys are great. Quality rock & roll. Lots of well known influences like the Stones or Big Star, but they wear them well. Just straight up fun music. Impressive that they're all like 19-20 years old.

Alvvays - Alvvays

More quality rock & roll. Not as much pure fun as Twin Peaks, but just as interesting.

edit: going through the FKA twigs album for the fist time now. I like it!

How is the new United Nations record? Does it still have the same very fast/chaotic sound to it?

It's pretty great. There's quite a few more melodic moments than I was expecting but they don't drag down the album at all. There's a lot of post-hardcore/screamo elements but the fast/chaotic moments are still there.

Superheaven - Jar

Listening to this non stop as of late. Grunge revival shit that sounds like it's from the 90s. ffo Nirvana, Soundgarden, Failure

I heard this on NPR this morning

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0Tc9xr_LpAg

It's a female Korean Christian rap, it's actually really positive and cool, sounds good enough to me, not what I would listen to but ok. But the drop that starts at 3:00 (climax by 3:30) is freaking hilarious.

IM A MOTHER
IM A DAUGHTER
IM A RAPPER
AND IM CHRISTIAN
*drop*

I've been on a hip-hop kick lately, and these have been some of my more frequently listened to albums.
