Halo: The Master Chief Collection for PC listed on Amazon UK

well, i have problems remembering the future.

I also fail to see how the point i made earlier has been countered in any fashion?

Well, those Halos he stated are already past on X360 reality. MS indeed ported many of their supposedly exclusive games to PC, but still theres a bunch that they dont. And MS is on a hard time with Xbox One nowadays, except if they want to walk back again then theres not enough reasons to port Halo MCC for PC right now.

And tbh, I also fail to see how the point you made earlier justifies MCC port.

The future? Those games I listed are the past. Your post was dumb and received a proper reply.

Halo 1-4 remastered in 1080p/60 with the original multiplayer for each game is a pretty big exclusive for Xbox One to be coming to PC any time soon.

Nah, PC gamers would just whine for a Halo 5 PC version.
Yep... but a portion of them would for sure end up buying an X1. It's just a question if MS thinks it's worth trying. As I said, wouldn't be getting my hopes up yet, but I also wouldn't fully discard the possibility of a PC version. It'll all become clearer in time, after all, MS doesn't really sees the PC platform as an X1 competitor, and these days, they're all about creating an ecosystem of a sort.

My argument earlier is that halo games came to the PC before and nothing changed. Xboxes didn't suddenly all catch fire and PCs are doing ok.

When this collection comes to PC everything will be fine. Xbones are going to be fine, PCs are going to be fine. MS will sell a bunch of haloes to xbone owners and the pc gamer who waits patiently will get them, too, and no one will be hurt by bad people.

I promise.

Maybe they decided that the extra income from PC sales was worth more to them than a possible small bump in Xbone sales? Didn't Spencer say that they would start porting more stuff to PC?

Even assuming the listing isn't in error, no date is mentioned. An Amazon page isn't necessarily indicative of a near-future release.

You've answered your own question.

Not true at all. Amazon's correct about this and The Last Guardian coming to the PS3 on December 31st of this year. /s

Halo MCC might actually go to PC though, but in a year or two.

Something about a "renewed focus on PC gaming."

PC is part of Microsoft's ecosystem, I really see no reason why some people write off such a possibility.

For the same reason they put Halo:CE and Halo 2 on PC.
They put Halo: Combat Evolved on PC and Mac (along with a few other originally Xbox exclusive games) to make Apple happy after Microsoft stole Apple's "We're going to focus more on gaming!" thunder away by obtaining Bungie.

Halo 2 Vista was released to sell the Games for Windows Live platform and Vista as a gaming operating system.

Point being, in the past, Microsoft hasn't let the main Halo titles escape the Xbox unless they had a very good reason for it. It never mattered how many people were clamoring for a PC release; it only mattered if it was a good business decision to keep a relationship intact or sell something.

Going back to what Phil Spencer said a while back though, it could be that Microsoft is trying to focus more on PC gaming now. The only reason I suspect they're wanting to is to keep people from switching over to Linux for gaming due to Valve's push over to SteamOS.

Nothing changed bases on what exactly?
Like you stated people were pissed off and even threw their Xbox away. If MS hold more exclusivities maybe they would have more trust from their consumers and who knows if because of that they would not be selling more Xbox systems. They already have a past of porting "exclusivities" and this never pleased Xbox owners. And given their actual situation they will want more consumers fidelity and trust if they intend to sell more Xbox Ones on this market. Also, port a Halo MCC now wouldnt make sense, even for their pockets. By the number of pre-orders would be more wise wait at least (minimum) a year before announcing a port.

If it does come to PC that will be a lot of Xbox One orders cancelled. Mine included.
Which is why this is not happening... At least in the near future that is.

343 has said on multiple occasions that they are focusing on the XO and that there are no plans for a PC version, so I highly doubt things have changed recently.

Oh, it's coming. As it is, I have no doubts about that. Will probably take a year or so after Xbone release. But it's coming.

If this is true, they probably won't officially announce it until after the Xbox One version releases. So you will probably already have an Xbox One by the time they announce it.

MCC a system-seller? PC-first gamers getting an X1 just to play MCC? Well, there are a handful of Vikings fans in Green Bay, so I guess anything's possible.

That's what I was thinking. The fact that they want to unify everything with their next OS sort of points to this. Putting their first party content on PC would certainly get a lot of people to upgrade.

If true this really puts the nail in the coffin for those claiming MCC will turn things around fir the XB1. No way it pushes the kind of numbers MS needs if it's available in PC too.

If sales are really as low as some claim I guess it would make sense releasing on PC too. MS has to recoup their investment in the titles. I just assumed that since these were HD remakes/ports that the dev cost was minimal but maybe MS is just really not comfortable with the idea that they might take a loss on it.

Between the PS4 and X1, it's really the only exclusive game this holiday season that will move systems. So I'm sure it will be a system-seller on some level.

I will guess a March or May release.

Its been rumoured for ages but once official Microsoft Halo branded mice started popping up it seemed like it was a matter of time.

I just hope its steamworks and not some new version of LIVE on PC

It's likely gonna be a Windows Store game.

re releases aren't moving systems.

This isn't a typical re-release boy. Even on GAF I have seen people buying console just to play this, I have ton of highschool friends now all gown ups and who gave up on console gaming and getting this.

and btw why is this thread still open? Didn't Frank denied this straight up?

Hopefully MS wised up and realized they can make more money on it by NOT tying it exclusively to the Xbox one. The majority of diehard Halo fans probably already bought an Xbox One for Halo anyways, so in terms of sales I don't see it being a big exclusive.

I hope you never run a console business.

For the same reason they put Halo:CE and Halo 2 on PC.

But what about

Halo 3?
Halo 3 ODST?
Halo 4?
Halo Reach?
Halo Wars?

This would be amazing. I love Halo, but I can't justify getting an Xbox One for it, especially since games are more expensive in Canada now. I hope it goes on Steam, since Spartan Assault is already on there. If it's true, it's definitely going to be a while after the Xbox On release, though.

A forum doesn't equal the bigger picture. It's not going to move systems.

I'd really love to play Halo 3 on pc.

But we all know it's not going to happen this year.

Or ever, for that matter.

And if it does come to pc this year, it won't have the Halo 5 beta.

Well I wans't only talking about GAF. But whatever gets you to sleep well at night.

And by the way this was the top selling on Amazon.ca and Amazon. com on entire E3 week.

They might release it sometime mid 2015 and try to use it to drive interest from PC gamers towards getting a Xbox One for Halo 5. I don't think they're going to announce it until after it's been on Xbox One for a few months.

It makes sense on some levels, but I'm far from convinced it's going to happen.

Halo Wars?

But what about Win Vista -> Win 8? Poor adoption rate, maybe MS would try to force an upgrade to Win 8. But yes i have very high doubts of this happening.

Whatever is in the MC collection is coming. There have been too many signs for it not to come out. Add to that that the PC market has been growing in the years since those games came out and it does look like a smart financial decision to put them out on PC. By the time it comes out, probably sometime late next year, plenty of time will have passed from the Xbone release that no one is going to be bothered. I mean, if you own an xbone it'll have been out on the platform for a while and if you don't then you can finally get it on PC. Everyone wins.

but yeah, Reach/ODST/Wars probably won't come out. Never played ODST or Wars so it's a shame on that front.

re releases aren't moving systems.

Apparently they do though. A few of my friends spent all year dead set on upgrading to PS4 and talking shit about Microsoft. As soon as they announced the Chief Collection, they lost their minds in hype and bought Xbones within days. I don't get it, but its their boats floating.

It doesn't bother me if it does,i just don't think rereleases move systems.
Just about any re release won't move systems.

The Chief Collection is not even arguably the greatest re-release ever done, it is exactly that title. It is the best.

People that love the first three Halos minds go bananas at the sound of 1080p 60fps dedicated servers with all maps with all of the original game engines.

I will honestly feel like I'm stealing when I pay 60 dollars for the package come November.
