Not gonna happen (anytime soon)
For the same reason they put Halo:CE and Halo 2 on PC.No chance, it's a console seller why would they give that up.
I doubt this is true. The MCC is Microsoft's holiday 2014 system seller.
well, i have problems remembering the future.
I also fail to see how the point i made earlier has been countered in any fashion?

Yep... but a portion of them would for sure end up buying an X1. It's just a question if MS thinks it's worth trying. As I said, wouldn't be getting my hopes up yet, but I also wouldn't fully discard the possibility of a PC version. It'll all become clearer in time, after all, MS doesn't really sees the PC platform as an X1 competitor, and these days, they're all about creating an ecosystem of a sort.Nah, PC gamers would just whine for a Halo 5 PC version.
Well, those Halos he stated are already past on X360 reality. MS indeed ported many of their supposedly exclusive games to PC, but still theres a bunch that they dont. And MS is on a hard time with Xbox One nowadays, except if they want to walk back again then theres not enough reasons to port Halo MCC for PC right now.
And tbh, I also fail to see how the point you made earlier justifies MCC port.
Usually, that's true, but right now, this is pretty much the best they have to offer when it comes to exclusives...re releases aren't moving systems.
Even assuming the listing isn't in error, no date is mentioned. An Amazon page isn't necessarily indicative of a near-future release.
You've answered your own question.
Something about a "renewed focus on PC gaming."Maybe they decided that the extra income from PC sales was worth more to them than a possible small bump in Xbone sales? Didn't Spencer say that they would start porting more stuff to PC?
They put Halo: Combat Evolved on PC and Mac (along with a few other originally Xbox exclusive games) to make Apple happy after Microsoft stole Apple's "We're going to focus more on gaming!" thunder away by obtaining Bungie. For the same reason they put Halo:CE and Halo 2 on PC.
My argument earlier is that halo games came to the PC before and nothing changed. Xboxes didn't suddenly all catch fire and PCs are doing ok.
When this collection comes to PC everything will be fine. Xbones are going to be fine, PCs are going to be fine.
I promise.
Which is why this is not happening... At least in the near future that is.If it does come to PC that will be a lot of Xbox One orders cancelled. Mine included.

Halo 2 Vista was released to sell the Games for Windows Live platform and Vista as a gaming operating system.
Point being, in the past, Microsoft hasn't let the main Halo titles escape the Xbox unless they had a very good reason for it. It never mattered how many people were clamoring for a PC release; it only mattered if it was a good business decision to keep a relationship intact or sell something.
Going back to what Phil Spencer said a while back though, it could be that Microsoft is trying to focus more on PC gaming now. The only reason I suspect they're wanting to is to keep people from switching over to Linux for gaming due to Valve's push over to SteamOS.
MCC a system-seller? PC-first gamers getting an X1 just to play MCC? Well, there are a handful of Vikings fans in Green Bay, so I guess anything's possible.
I will guess a March or May release.
Its been rumoured for ages but once official Microsoft Halo branded mice started popping up it seemed like it was a matter of time.
I just hope its steamworks and not some new version of LIVE on PC
re releases aren't moving systems.
Not gonna happen (anytime soon)
Hopefully MS wised up and realized they can make more money on it by NOT tying it exclusively to the Xbox one. The majority of diehard Halo fans probably already bought an Xbox One for Halo anyways, so in terms of sales I don't see it being a big exclusive.
For the same reason they put Halo:CE and Halo 2 on PC.
This isn't a typical re-release boy. Even on GAF I have seen people buying console just to play this, I have ton of highschool friends now all gown ups and who gave up on console gaming and getting this.
and btw why is this thread still open? Didn't Frank denied this straight up?
A forum doesn't equal the bigger picture. It's not going to move systems.

I hope you never run a console business.
But what about
Halo 3?
Halo 3 ODST?
Halo 4?
Halo Reach?
Halo Wars?

It's going to move systems. It's not just forums; there's genuine excitement over this thing.
Well I wans't only talking about GAF. But whatever gets you to sleep well at night.
And by the way this was the top selling on Amazon.ca and Amazon. com on entire E3 week.

I better start coding then, huh?
re releases aren't moving systems.
Just about any re release won't move systems. It doesn't bother me if it does,i just don't think rereleases move systems.
