This has become my most anticipated game. I have heard so many good things over the years about the quality of the original Resident Evil and the labor of love that was REmake.
Can't wait for this release and I am sincerely hoping that Capcom does an amazing job.
They have a new optional control mode for younger, casual gamers.
Enjoy it; to me, REmake is on the same level as RE4 - two games with exceptional quality that hasn't been reached since. Well, in my opinion at least.
Cool. Everybody buy this so they'll remake 2.
This type of insinuation is silly. If someone takes issues with a game's controls they're "younger" and "casual" as if those are pejorative? That's just as ignorant as if someone claimed "older" and "hardcore" gamers have implicitly negative traits. Save the thinly veiled insults for the schoolyard?
The fact of the matter is that for me the controls weren't enjoyable when I played and beat the game when I bought it when I was 16 on PS1. The controls weren't any more enjoyable on the GC when I purchased REmake. The controls wouldn't be enjoyable to me now.
I enjoyed the series enough to tolerate the controls but it wasn't something that I remember being a high-point of the experience.
This is the original image from the site. Looks like the other one is compressed.Look at all the artifacts on the left hand side of the screen on the remaster, looks really sloppy.
With RE6 moveset BADassery.Cool. Everybody buy this so they'll remake 2.
It was a joke settle down.
It actually looks really good, and I can finally play RE1 IF THEY REMOVE THE DAMN DOOR ANIMATIONS ! (at least have an option to turn it on/off)
Oh, I'm well acquainted enough with Capcom to know what goes through their heads when it comes to these decisions. I know enough that they'll probably say something along the lines of "We're monitoring the success of REmaster to determine whether or not there is an audience for RE2make". I also know that if this hypothetically sells well, it still does not guarantee that RE2/3make will ever see fruition.
Capcom loves to hang a carrot on a stick in front of its fans. If I do buy this, it's solely just because I love REmake. I'm not investing in this just for the "chance" for RE2/3make.
So can someone catch me up to speed here?
The Emulation shot is REmake running on Dolphin and the Remaster pic is media Capcom released for the new unreleased version?
Does this mean original source REmake on GameCube looks even worse than the Emulation version? Any comparisons on that front, or is Cube-capture software unrealistic?
Also, is the Remake shot from 360/PS3 targets? Didn't the YouTube video say the XB1/PS4/PC media is yet to be revealed?
Super-Day-One-Stoked either way.
My Cube has been in storage at a friends for years, so REmake has been out of my hands for a LONG time.

Did they officially confirm or deny widescreen support?
Is there a story here? Some kinda door phobia?
I really want them to go stupid and make it look gorgeous but have original RE 1 voice acting. Maybe even the live action intro in HD!

The DS version of the original RE1 has a skip doors feature, and yes it's amazing.
I understand some people like the doors, adding to the tension and sense of dread. Me? I'm over it, ain't got time for them doors. Let me in the next room already.
Maybe is common knowledge but in RE3 you can skip the opening the door animation (at least the PC version) by pressing the map button. I just found this a few days ago, and it blew my mind, lol.

Some people mentioned a $50 price for the game.
That's pretty steep, but if that's really going to be the case, this game would probably not be listed as a "PSN Game" (I don't know the exact term on XBL) and thus would have a full trophy list, including a platinum trophy. Considering that it was a real bummer that the last remasters had only 12 trophies, this wouldn't be so bad (although I'm not sure I would pay 30 bucks more just for trophies).
Yeah the ones from the right are from the REmaster, PS360 shots, I think.
A pic from a GC would only give a lame, poor 480p shot, I just can't play the game at this resolution anymore since I first played it on Dolphin years ago.
Consider the emulator shot the closest you'll get to the REmaster. It's just the GC with an upscaled native resolution so it makes the best case for comparisons.

Hope this comes out this year!
Doubt it though![]()
If you've never played an older RE title before, when you're opening a door it shows it open slowly for 3-4 seconds to build tension. I personally don't have a problem with it.
Incase anyone missed it a video of interview and screen shots

This has reminded me that the GameCube version still looks smoking hot.
