Then let people discuss the fact that an unarmed teenager was shot, probably in the back multiple times. They might be wrong about the events but there are eye-witnesses that seem to corroborate that story.
Not all cops are bad but if one has done something wrong he should be shunned, not defended.
My favorite part of this is how the guy on the right is staring right into the officer's eyes, the the officer is staring off blankly, too afraid to meet his gaze.
what the hell is this?

I don't think you know what profiling means. It wouldn't matter if the dude was green, he shouldn't be there.

Since when it left?

I think it makes for incredible imagery. Looks like something from a war-torn third world country. From the looks of it and multiple angles it's an individual approaching officers and thus them approaching him with weapons drawn. Probably to illicit that exact response and thus result in these images.
People have been doing this for a while now to get video/images of "police abuse." Personally I think it depreciates the real abuses.
This photo is years old.

The fuck this can't be real. Please tell me it's not. And if it is why aren't those cops is riot gear?
They have a right to assembly and to demonstrate. Not the best idea given the situation but the Bill of Rights protects their rights.
The cops are to keep other people from physically attacking them.
Is it? I couldn't find find any matching results using the google reverse image search. But I don't know how well that works
It's only one picture though. Policeman just looks bored. Who knows, maybe ten seconds before it was the opposite.
Not afraid to meet gaze. Direct eye contact can be seen as a sign of aggression.
Law enforcement doesn't feel safe when there's a video record of their activities.
They didn't keep the cops from showing up in riot gear when people were assembling for the murdered kid.
KKK doesn't have the balls to show up in force there, come on. And given the police in the pic it's clearly a demonstration. They used to come to Ann Arbor every few years to demonstrate/look like fools, and the police were everywhere making sure they didn't clash with the NAACP/other black groups.

How are you so sure the police aren't the KKK?
:lolprobably rotating shifts
I know you do. Which is why you're profiling.
You don't know what happened. But you know he's challenging a police line.
I think this is a prime example of the Blue Wall. Here we have a security guard defending a department he has no connection with just because they share a similar but VERY distant occupation. It's that us vs. them attitude that is becoming more and more apparent.
It's this type of attitude that shows up in the majority of officers minds when something bad like this happens. No matter what, they give the benefit of the doubt to their own. Even if the victim was unarmed. Even if the victim was shot in the back. Even if the victim was shot in the back while handcuffed.
Yeah all cops may not be "bad" cops, but they all generally have compliant attitudes towards abuse even though aren't the perpetrators of said abuse. The system is built so that they are wilfully complaint or un-wilfully compliant. But they all HAVE to be compliant or else you won't be working with your boys any longer.
Brolic Gaoler aka AlienShogun is displaying what most "good cops" probably display when confronted with abuse by their peers: Us. vs. Them.
Security guard? Come on man, that's pretty low. It's bad enough being called a guard in general, but relegating me to a mall cop?
It wasn't used as a pejorative. Correctional officer? My bad. I think thats the least important thing I said but whatever ...

And the job IS very different. Police interact with the criminal element on occasion, and with the public much more. We deal with the criminal element daily and all the time.
It kind of set a tone of sarcasm to the rest of your post, and I'm not sure if that was the intent.
That removed, you're right about a lot of things and there have been studies on it. However, the exact opposite is also true. The public has taken on the them vs us mentality as well, which is clearly visible in threads like this.

That tends to happen when cops start abusing, attacking, and murdering the people they are sworn to protect -- and only made worse by the fact that the entire system encourages such behavior.
Dayum.... These cops.... Stay safe if ya live out there!
Well, let's be clear, it doesn't encourage the behavior and your post was onto something until you posted this.
Your post was more about other officers trusting one another and having each other's backs, even if it's wrong, which yea hit happens. Let's not get thst confused with encouraging oppression, murder, and abuse.
