Is Linne a good character?

Yes. Good damage, good pressure, and good character to get your opponents to press buttons.

I'll be home around 4 PST today if anyone wants to get some games in. Got to work on some Nanase again.

Also for some odd reason, I hate doing Nanase combos online. They're finicky at times.

Don't know which path to take: Yuzu or Nanase.
Been having a pretty good time in CPU training with both.
Going to be grinding it out over the weekend. Give me a shout on PSN if you need a scrub-level training dummy.

Couldn't resist any longer ...

Looking forward to playing with you guys :3

It's okay, you said it had to be quick. Ggs.

Yeah, getting rushed down seems really hard for Hilda. I noticed that you didn't use Veil Off. This is just me speculating, but I think it's basically Hilda's only way to get people to respect her wakeup (especially since having no assault against Hilda seems tough). Once I start trying to bait that, you can use it to wakeup 2A or whatever to escape.

Edit: Uhh, wtf?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LVLOnEFjS8

If they patched Akatsuki's fireball damage reset that made little difference in arcades, I better see a damned patch for this or I'm going to german punch french bread in the face.

GGs, Twilt. I can only handle so much on that connection that it stops being fun for too long, haha.

It's around dinner time as well.

Lol, I figured out my problem with Mortal Slide and its just me being incapable of doing a rekka input properly. Which really made me worry about what grip I use with an arcade stick. Basically I am just really shitty at fighting games still.

Well that sure was complete anhilation. If this taught me something, it's that I need to learn actual corner Wald combos >.>

GGs, Solar. Connection seemed better than BB surprisingly.

I'm going to have to not get too shield happy against Wald.

Yeah, so far the netcode has felt better than anything non-GGPO I've played (feeling that it eats my chain shift attempts every now and then aside).

Also yeah, definitely gotta shield careful against Wald because the range on his command grab is ridiculous and can catch you very off guard.

Yeah, I don't know why but netplay loves to eat Chain Shift inputs on some connections. Getting CS and doing a reversal, sometimes one or the other doesn't come out. If you or anyone wants to practice against a certain matchup, I don't mind. Just as long as I know it. lol

Oh and that reminded me, jfc fighting Nanase was brutal. That was like, literally the second Nanase I've ever played and the first one lagged horribly to the point it didn't matter at all for match up experience. All those overheads...

She's not too scary once you get used to it. A lot of it comes from respecting her too much.

Against Wald, she's able to poke and whiff 5A effectively since Wald has slow normals (Nanase does too). Any of the B+C stuff is when I can get people to respect my rushdown. I don't throw out dash C too much, but it has its uses. Once you play her more, she's actually mediocre in footsies and mixups.

i dont really have any interest in this game, but could someone explain what the title of this game means? this thread is almost always on the first page and the title keeps bugging me

Her overheads aren't great unless she's jumping at least. Her pressure is pretty sick though

Realizing I'm starting to play Yuzu a lot like I play Nazuna in AH3.
Mid-range keep-away, punish attempts to get in. I like how Yuzu has tools to confirm some decent combos at a distance. Her QCB moves seem great for getting out of tight spots. I really need to learn her teleports since they seem to be integral to combo extensions.

After a night of online play, I'm recognizing my problems with dealing with getting put in the corner, handling characters that can close the gap quickly (on both fronts, this Orie player online was absolutely terrorizing me. Dat corner pressure is too stronk), and getting out-zoned (Hildas and Merkavas especially). I also just need to learn some more combos. All in all, I think it was an educational first day for me. I really dig this game.

So I was curious why JP players would shit their pants and let Merkava go nuts regardless of range if they were in the corner, then I found out these routes exist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSjn2NJnj2g

I'm working on a Merkava video with a recently acquired LGP so I'm testing out quality stuff still and this helps.
Yup, he's scary as fuck in the corner. I rather have them zone me than get me in the corner.

Also I want to say Carmines 5B anti air's super good yet the hitboxes make no sense for it to do so :lol

Got a lot of training done with Nanase. After a friend's help, I'm getting pretty good damage off of any touch.

I don't think I labbed with her since around launch lol

You talking Cramine vs Nanase? Whatever that move Carmine has where he kicks upward, that move is godlike to get her off you.

Nanase only gets off if you start respecting her.

She also can't pressure for long periods of time. Try EX shielding the obvious stuff. Once back in neutral, Carmine gives Nanase a hard time. My good range moves moves me forward and extends my hurtbox, so I can't play footsies with them too much against some characters.

I have a bit of trouble landing that when she's floating directly above me when I'm in the corner.

Yeah I was trying to react to you canceling into A all the time. I can actually hit you out of that if you try to press something again after but I kept derping.

Weird, it's hitbox is really vertical and can stop her better pressure resets. After like 5C > 5A she's somewhere around like -1, so depending on how she wants to pressure reset it can be actually pretty annoying to handle. She can pressure reset for days, so just make your calls there when you feel confident.

IMO it's really hard to react to rebeat pressure, even offline. Like AnnelFrank said, most of it tends to be only slightly minus (I think most of Hyde's is -2 except for 5[C] 2A obviously, and Orie's 2C 2A might be -3 or something). Most times I just have to guess since if I try to react, I'm already too slow to get frame advantage.
