Under Night In-birth Exe:Late |OT| Under Night In-America

I'm spoiled, I need my frame data. In-game frame data would be even better. *looks at KI* Yup... sure would be nice to have frame data. *coughs* Injustice *coughs* I mean, is there really any harm in including frame data or the ability to turn on hit boxes? *sneezes* KI *sneezes*

There's some unofficial frame data out but I haven't check every characters yet. I generally just want to know if things are plus or minus. But with my specific character I would like to now actual frame data so I can start creating frame traps and what not.

The issue with Linne's TK Kuuga is that it's an air move and thus it's exact frame advantage is hard to determine due to factors like height and distance effecting it. It's generally advantageous on block however.

But yeah it would have been pretty rad to have some official frame data included in the game :/

I'm starting to realize that Linne's pressure game relies heavily on fundamental offense. She doesn't seem to have a lot of shenanigans and trickery going for her so it's just the good ol' tick throws, frame traps, and throw tech baits. I don't mind that though.

Ggs, Joule, Xero, Negator, and Solune. That was fun. Really needed that! Helped me get a better idea of what Hilda should and shouldn't be doing. I got hit doing charge 5C in neutral way too much for example.

Wald is surprisingly fun to play. Gordeau too.

Some much needed match up experiences for me. Lots of stuff I need to work on after all that.

I feel like that session probably went on a little too long haha.

Played a lot of Seth today. Getting used to how he plays a lot more now.

I don't think I could use him online well though. lol

Anyone gonna be around to play in a couple hours?

PSN is Retro_Funk. Will probably be hanging around the house all day looking for games inbetween other stuff

Just got this and I have no idea what i'm doing. Time to read up on that mizuumi.

Gonna try Yuzuriha for a while.

GGs Disco

Sorry about leaving after such a spammy comeback, but it's almost 2am :T

GGs man, my lack of practice and not having found a main is definitely showing right now. I may stick with Chaos despite what everyone's saying about his viability, he's fun. Waldstein is always waiting in the wings should I change my mind anyway. Christ though it's really silly how his monster doesn't at least absorb a single projectile before disappearing and I'm at a loss as to what to do when he's on cooldown after having been hit out. I thought my Monster Slash -> Monster Shadow was a legit block string into oki before you started punishing. Guess I need to lab it up with him some more ...

After I we finished up I had a longer set with some Eltnum that proceeded to destroy me for a couple dozen games. The damage that character can do off of random counterhit airs is sort of absurd.

I'm good at blocking and bad at everything else lol.

Any Yuzu players I should check out? I normally learn more by watching good players than reading guides.

Having good blocking is a good thing! Especially online where assaults are almost unreactable depending on your internet. :V
Maa-kun is probably the Yuzuriha everyone's copying right now lol.

The frame data for this game is so deceiving lol. Hyde's 5A is -9?! WTF! Luckily you can just rebeat into 2A or end in Lotus and it's all okay. Orie's 5A is -3 and 3f faster for comparison. .__.

maa-kun and eve. you can use the chainshift database to help with some matchups or just get sad with your favorite top player chainshift.com

GGs, Q. Been awhile since I used Eltnum. Messed up some opportunities on when I could AA.

Also I should take a break. I shouldn't be getting CH'ed on +8 lol.

Seth stuff I'm still autopiloting. Going to take awhile but I'm doing less input errors than I would have yesterday, so it's progress.

How long does it take you to stop autopiloting? I have so much trouble committing a few blockstrings to muscle memory that I think I'll be autopiloting for a long time.

Depends on the character. When I learned Eltnum, it was pretty simple. I delay certain parts because of frame traps, and I'm usually fine at identifying when I should go into a BnB after which starter. She usually stays in for a good amount of time anyway.

Seth, I auto pilot way too much. I'm doing 2A into 2B then 2C while I should be going into 5CC instead. That and the way he lands hits are always weird and situational. So sometimes I go straight into my blockstring instead of the optimal combo.

Usually I'm good at training muscle memory at a decent speed when I start playing people. Q's Carmine makes me crack under pressure easily, so it made things even more of a challenge.

Hmm, I see. I think I might just be getting confused by Melty Blood muscle memory lol. I keep trying to cancel into 5A whiff with Hyde and Orie, but their 5As are so long that I end up hitting the opponent. I also keep starting pressure with 2A and trying to end pressure with 2A because I psyche myself out with the 5A thing. :V

Ah well, I should just mash less, but I like mashing so much lol.

That's how I felt after playing your eltnum the other day.
Haha. Today made me see that I'm slipping though. Getting too comfy with basically anti-Carmine tools and not being on point with footsies and etc. I want to work on Nanase before focusing on Eltnum though. I really want to make this character work for me.

Yeah play Nanase more :P She's a pretty awesome character imo

Edit: fucking ugly ronald mcdonald carmine color

Solar, care a little less with what you are gonna do with Carmine :P you dont really need to be thinking about what you are doing with him until you are on the defensive

GGs Q

If there's one thing I learned from your Carmine is that I definitely don't go for those 6[C] overheads nowhere near enough. I got caught by that so fucking much.

Still, if there's one complain about the connection between us, is that every single time I try to neutral tech to avoid losing grd and then inmediately guard might as well be me giving you a free combo because it doesn't registern the blocking on time :|

Also, if I'm honest, my favorite parts of our matches was whenever we had this staredown with me just crouch blocking and you spamming 6Bs since you had no more life left anyways until one of us got tired of it and either fucked up or caught the other off guard lol

You are just holding down the button to tech right? I wasn't having any issues with it :O

Yes, but I mean letting go the stick so that I don't roll backwards.
I know what you ment :P Treat it like old BB imo, just learn the tech timings so you can always be ready to block and not rely on visuals. Because plenty of characters will mix up high low crap on wake up as well.

Considering dropping Eltnum if I'm still not feeling it after this week. May play Linne or Nanase instead…

Add me if you want to try out a new char, my PSN is the same as my username. I want to experiment with more than just Akatsuki and Seth. I just pop on randomly, so ... yup, if it happens then it happens, lol.

Sometimes I just don't tech. Much safer that way online lol

Eltnum clicks too much for me to drop her. But glad the Nanase army might be growing.

Edit: I have too many friends that use Carmine. I hate it. lol

I'll try =.=

I'm pretty sure not teching when a giant spinning blood scythe + puddle are approaching my face isn't exactly the definition of safe tho

That must be suffering, he's probably the biggest pain in the ass to fight.

Edit: No I take that back Vatista exist
Vatista does get kind of annoying. I use her, so I have some bias lol

If you're talking about that part of the combo, you won't get picked up by an invalid combo. You're invul until you get up. I usually avoid teching on a lot of knockdowns to mess with their timing or avoid certain things in oki. It's mostly good if you're in Vorpal state though.

Edit: So far I feel like Eltnum and Nanase are my strongest. Seth and Vatista are up and coming. I might learn Akatsuki and maybe Hyde eventually.

Then there's Orie who's just sort of there for me and I'm too lazy to get her weird stuff down.

GGs Mackle. I'm pretty sure if you didn't before, you hate carmine now.

I feel bad everytime a blade hits and turns into a 3.6k combo in the corner :lol

GGs, Carmine's pressure is crazy. Not sure if I want to put myself through another two hours of Carmine for a while, haha.

I'm not really sure what to do once I get put into the corner against a Carmine, I get blown up whenever I try to do anything :l

I just want to say Carmines win pose sprite looks derpy as hell though

You mean the one where he does something with his hand held out in front of him followed by his hair spazzing out? I can't really tell what's going on there either.

I don't mind fighting Carmine's though.

I learned that the projectile game can be beaten with some careful 91's at the appropriate times. The key is to block instantly after jumping so you don't get tagged by unexpected stuff. Or with Orie you can choose to use her charged B thrust from across the screen to get in if you can find a good time to use it.

Anime games are so unfair to new players. A minor difference in experience leads to such one sided beatings.

Your main goal as a new player is to learn one easy to do bnb and once you are in a match learn how to use your normals to open up different situations. After than practice stuff for those.

Learning to block is major too

Sure but finding openings in block strings is hard. It also doesn't help when I do something dumb like "Oh hey here comes the overhead! I know! I'll block low instead."

Although being stubborn doesn't help either, sometimes.

Yeah, there are some deceptive overheads in this game. But when playing new matchups, it's important to block a lot to just understand how their blockstrings and mixups go. If you crack under pressure and end up not blocking or pushing buttons, then you'll learn which moves are hitting low/high at a slower rate.

Also, it's not a bad idea to message and ask people, even if they're strangers. I did that a lot for SF4, and a lot of people were kind to help (unfortunately I couldn't produce the results in that game lol)
