I feel awful for the arrested reporters, but it's really crazy to think the action STL police are going to feel the biggest repercussion from is illegally assaulting and detaining them briefly. Like, with everything happening, that's what they need to be worried about most.

Remember Occupy Wall street? Police brutality was captured on camera, including against reporters.

Every last one of them was cleared for "just doing their job"

Standard Trayvon cover story.. Black man tried to attack officers and steal their guns. They shot him 3x and handcuffed him. Died in ambulance. Claims he might be gang-related, or not... but just planting the seed.

That line about police not knowing whether he had gang-affiliations makes me fee slightly ill. Even if someone proves he wasn't part of a gang, he's still being defined by his lack of gang affiliation, rather than just being defined as a person. That the families of those slain by police have to read that accusatory tripe is shameful.

Its not an assault on the freedom of the press, its an assault on a multitude of rights granted to all.

Reporters have no special rights. All people are afforded the same rights
