No, liberal in the US often means progressive, meaning they're for more government intervention in order to address said institutional problems.
Whether the US version of "liberal" goes far enough compared with the rest of the western world is another issue.

Edit: I would like to add, having seen discussion of the political affiliation above, that I think that the parties are all stupid and counter-productive and split up the government too much. Everyone should be independent and free-thinking to consider ideas rather than joining hive-mind groups that spend more time trying to be better than the other or make the other mad than actually helping the country. Just what I think.

I would. Very dangerous, and even if you are the type who believes any police deaths as a result of these demonstrations would be justified, that little stunt could put the rest of the protesters who are there peacefully at risk for physical injury or worse, be it a slip of the hand or a police retaliation to potential attempted murder. So, yeah. It's dumb as shit in my opinion.

What is going on in these people's minds? Like do they think the peaceful protesters are actually planning to pull out guns and take over the city? This is pathetic and awful.
Who even can be held responsible for all this? Like how many people could they possibly suspend or jail from the police if the situation is fixed and the law is looked at fairly? It is like they'd need a whole new police force at this rate.

Seems? No. Its literally being suppressed before our very eyes. This is all getting a little suspect folks. Hate to put my tin foil hat on, but this seems to be going down in a very specific way, with a whole lot of recent occurrences that are going to just cause people to snap. I'm pissed. You're pissed.. we've been sick of this for a while .But these incidents are almost too good to be true, for lack of a better phrase. These police are doing everything we've been claiming. People are seeing the militarization first hand. We've even made it past the defense force. This is weird. They are acting just as heinous as we've been saying they do. This is being done to agitate the black population for some reason, I don't know what it is. Alex Jones & Co are presenting us the revolution? In what world would that happen..? There seemed to be some suspect people too at the protest. Like the guy that flew in from chicago and started calling the cops PIGS on the speaker after a lot of really good speakers. He then claimed they were all murderers in Iraq. Dude seemed like a plant. I don't know about all of this. Maybe this is how the full force of the new-face-of law starts? With beating us down into a pulp. Then others have an expectation of how they will be treated and won't resist/protest as its the status quo?

Short of asking Twitter to manipulate trending topics, which isn't likely, I don't think this is possible. I also don't think Twitter is willing to throw away its reputation over the events in Ferguson.

So apparently not only did they tear gas news crews and arrest journalist but, they also knowingly tear gassed their own state senator that represents Ferguson county. That is kinda crazy.
