Let's say for the sake of argument that this guy actually did rob the store of Swisher Sweets.

Let's say that he even beat up the store clerk.

Why should he have been executed in cold blood and not detained/arrested like everyone else?

This is the shit that makes Angelus' posts so valid and real. That covert racism, that dogwhistle stuff...that's going to corrupt the ideas that this event in Ferguson, and the event in Staten Island w/the NYPD made people think about. They're going to ignore the systematic injustices that make a black male's life in America worth less, or sometimes worthless. Instead, they're going to say that he was a "criminal" and deserved to die.

A pack of dollar store cigars.
Some candy and iced tea.
Loud music.
A stare.

That's all it takes, and that's all we're worth.

I'm considering making a thread about the constitutional implications of this ongoing event. Apparently Al-Jazeera is reporting that SWAT cops are confiscating camera and lighting equipment from anyone who tries to cover this. This is some Tiananmen Square level shit if true, it's absolutely unconstitutional to bar journalists from expressing the first amendment like that. Unless this is some martial law situation, I have no idea why this part of the riots isn't getting more attention.

Well, the PD is getting exactly what they wanted. Already your seeing reports of if he was tied to the robbery or not. PD wants to spin this another way, and the media is going to pick it up on it for sure.

The death was still unjustified regardless...this is textbook smear the victim a la Trayvon Martin.

Those photos are so grainy that could really be any heavy-set darker dude. I know 20 people off he top of my head who could easily have been in those photos down here in Atlanta.

That isnt good enough excuse to harass every kid you see.

Some things I don't understand.

No robbery was mentioned and now a robbery is mentioned with very vague pictures and a supposed "video."

Why would Brown perform a robbery just days before his enrollment in college?

Why would Brown robb an unfamiliar store instead of the CT store that that they keep on mentioning?

The clothes match when he was shot, but why on earth was this not released earlier!?

Something smells fishy here......

A local station cleared that up here as no disciplinary action PREVIOUSLY in his 6 years. As I type this they just said it again coming back from commercial.

just like i said last night, they will parade a bunch character witnesses around for this guy saying he's a good guy, he's not racist he has a black friend on the force etc etc.

Agreed 110%

This.

So much this.

Nothing justifies shooting an unarmed person point blank. But it's also important to have ALL the facts. So I want the investigation to continue and for the truth to come out. Regardless of where it takes us.

Just saw someone post pretty much the same thing, but I'll keep it here anyway...

I mean this is only an opinion but this guy looks too heavy set to be the same guy.
Plus even if he did..... it doesn't matter in the slightest. He was still an unarmed witness, who was "jaywalking" as we were originally told. I don't know I tend not to trust reports by the people who committed a crime, and after 2 nights ago I still think this is bigger then Brown at this point.

Looking at photos of his body and comparing it to the photos shown, the clothing is similar but the actions still aren't justified. Not even in the slightest.

There's no death penalty for robbery/shoplifting last I checked and shooting a kid or anyone unarmed and fleeing is grade A bullshit.

From page 1:

3:54 PM PT: The reports include an accusation that the unarmed young man stole candy from a Quick Trip prior to being shot. Most news organizations are concentrating on the 100 or so people who have congregated to protest the police shooting.

Well, I thought when I first read of this case, it had been due to stealing candy (which still made it absurd). I could be mistaken though. But still...this is awful. Like someone else said, similar to Trayvon. None of this changes the other facts we've heard from eyewitnesses about holding his hands up, essentially surrendering, only to be shot multiple times.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling the PD held off on this just so they could get what they believe is their sweet little victory.

"Oh, yeah, let them go out and protest this shooting. Yeah, he's so innocent, just wait until we bring this out!"

Its probably why the Chief refused to take questions. He's probably back at the station right now with the other cops smiling ear to ear watching this unfold.

I hate to be that guy in the thread, but I was busy last night. Can I get a recap of last night to today?

Released the cop's name
Highway Patrol officer marched with people last night
No real riots/trouble

Is that it? And now it's coming out that Brown was involved in "something" that day?

I have no idea why the Chief would be smiling about anything right now.

I'm not sure taking $30 worth of merchandise is legally considered robbery. That looks like assault and shoplifting.

Quite the expert legal opinion you're providing there.

Missouri Revised Statutes
Section 569.030

Robbery in the second degree.
1. A person commits the crime of robbery in the second degree when he forcibly steals property.

2. Robbery in the second degree is a class B felony.

(Not making a comment on this case in particular, just at how ridiculous some of these posts are.)

even assuming that's him, YOU STILL DON'T GET TO SHOOT HIM

oh but you do, you so do.

trayvon was supposedly making purple drank, and had trace amounts of weed, thus he deserved to die.

oh also he's black, so thats already guilt right there.
