Ferguson: Police Kill 18yo Black Male; Fire Gas/Rubber Bullets Into Protesting Crowds

I mean this is only an opinion but this guy looks too heavy set to be the same guy.
Plus even if he did..... it doesn't matter in the slightest. He was still an unarmed witness, who was "jaywalking" as we were originally told. I don't know I tend not to trust reports by the people who committed a crime, and after 2 nights ago I still think this is bigger then Brown at this point.

everyone with red baseball caps all look alike
(god forgive that Cards fans wear red baseball hats)

I just wanted to put this out there in case anyone wants to show up.

A friend of mine in the pinball business put this together for fun. I'm glad they are using the arcade machines as well; we normally just run pinball tourneys.

Anyone in the area who loves the arcade should come out and have fun. I plan on being there and winning so show up and prove me wrong!
.....wrong thread?

Going by the video/screnshots of the robbery and the images right after the shooting, it does look like the same guy to me. Same body type, same clothing, etc...

It just occurred to me that I have no idea what Mike looked like. Does that guy beating up an elderly lady even look like him?

Cop still shouldn't have killed him, and that is not a justifiable use of force IMO. However, I ain't gonna lie... that's pretty bad if it's him. I didn't remember hearing him being a big guy. Where is that picture of him in the street people found? We can look and see if it matches the clothing.

Well here's a picture of the body.

Dead body obviously in link.

Well... That doesn't look so good.

It does, which is not conclusive but is a shame. Now the spotlight will shift to petty theft instead of the bigger issue.

Let's say for the sake of argument that this guy actually did rob the store of Swisher Sweets.

Let's say that he even beat up the store clerk.

Why should he have been executed in cold blood and not detained/arrested like everyone else?

This is the shit that makes Angelus' posts so valid and real. That covert racism, that dogwhistle stuff...that's going to corrupt the ideas that this event in Ferguson, and the event in Staten Island w/the NYPD made people think about. They're going to ignore the systematic injustices that make a black male's life in America worth less, or sometimes worthless. Instead, they're going to say that he was a "criminal" and deserved to die.

A pack of dollar store cigars.
Some candy and iced tea.
Loud music.
A stare.

That's all it takes, and that's all we're worth.

Important to highlight the other side of the coin as well...a white guy can get away with loads of what you just said, and more. Black citizens are treated with less respect and dignity, and are NOT given the benefit of the doubt in this country. I'm saying this from a place of privilege, I know. I'm also saying this as someone that can't ever have the perspective that black men and women do. I'm even saying this as someone that was raised under the type of stereotypes that lend weight to the problem.

If people took a second to look at people without their skin, or to replace a hateful word with something that offends them and reflect it on their self, I think you'd see a little more change. If more people got called out and shamed for their statements and thoughts, and got held accountable for their behavior, and shown that there's another, easier, better way to look at people, them maybe we'd see a little more change. But what we need most is some serious goddamn policy reform, education and accountability. Start locking up murderers, and call murder what it is. Start calling discrimination and racism what it is. Hold it up to the light.

Sorry for the rant. I know it's not worth anything coming from someone in my place, but it's how I feel.

Oh jeez.

I also heard another version of the events last night that I hesitate to even post because it was so crazy.

Some guy that said his "brother was a cop" says Brown actually had the officers weapon and tried to fire it but it jammed, Brown drops the gun and runs, officer picks it up clears the weapon then fires and kills brown.

This is so John Wayne wild west movie shootout I give it 0% chance of being true. I only post it because this is what people are saying. I can't really tell if this is the story the officer has told or if its just made up rumors.

If you can do a positive ID based on that video footage and that through-the-window photo, you're blessed with far greater eyesight than me.

Not only that, why would he actively seek out the police to give his testimony?

He did that?! Well that makes the whole thing sound even weirder....

The incompetence of this PD is horrifying and I'm sure they are not the only ones. Imagine how many more ill suited cops there are in the whole US or even the world....

How many witnesses were there to the cop shooting? Just the one dude who was shop lifting with him? If that is the case this cop is walking 100%, he already lied about not being with him.

If that was true it's murder.

So they are creating a whole new narrative?

If the witness was an accessory to robbery, why didn't the cops bring him in for questioning? Why did he have to go to the FBI?

Just saw a good question being asked on Twitter if Johnson was involved in the supposed robbery as well, why wasn't he arrested then?

This should be the most asked question to this report. Followed by why wasn't this released right away if this was true? Why are only stills released and not actual video footage? In the end it doesn't justify the shooting. Period.

Is the press conference still going or is it over? Are they charging him or what?

The police are not the ones who ultimately decide that. It's the district attorney and going by some of his statements I have some doubts he will be charged.

None of this makes sense. You wait until now to say we have a video, and it's possibly Mike Brown. The day you release the officers name who is responsible for his death. You don't arrest the accessory to the "robbery", you don't answer questions at your press conference, and were supposed to just read your handouts and draw our own conclusions. What a sad police force....

.....Ferguson PD declined the invitation to interview Dorian Johnson but they've got him listed as a "second suspect?"

hm

That just about confirms it even more. That is the exact same hat that is in the main picture of him smiling. Sure, tons of those hats are out there, but going along with everything else it's pretty certain now.

Errrr, alot of people in that area would have STL Cardinals caps.

The clothing of the guy in the video doesn't match the pic of Brown's dead body.

In the video, the guy is wearing a longer shirt, a hat, dark shorts, and socks with sandals.

In the pic of Brown's dead body, he is wearing a tighter shirt, tan shorts that are sagging below his hips, shoes and no hat.

Two different people IMO.

Should have been more clear. I meant that guy looks heavier than Brown. I could be totally wrong.

May sound very trivial but in comparison to the robbery photos and his body, the only similarities are the grey shirt and sandals. No hat, and his pants are tan in the body pics where as the pants in the pictures of the video are black/dark colored......

I'm so skeptical.
