If it's anything like the other games, rare cards quickly end up being non-competitive if you want to have a chance at placing high in events to win the really good cards. For example, in the TF game I was referring to, rares were considered tier 3. When I played, you needed a deck filled mainly with 5s with maybe one or two 4s at the most to even have a chance at competing. And apparently they have tier 6 cards now in that game, so I'm sure my old tier 5 deck would get crushed by all the T6 decks that are likely out now, lol.
If events are based more on tier though as opposed to being open to all, I may give it a shot.

Oh, I know. I am talking about what they actually turn out to be (wrestler/diva). It's a bit unfortunate that the tiers are set since other CCGs will have bigger prizes to give away. Right now, I am at Super Rare+, so Rare cards won't do much for me besides allow my cards to train faster. Entering in the next KOTR tournament would have me at Super Rare+ and by the team it is over, I would most likely have moved on from using Super Rare cards and being using others. It's futile in the long run due to the length of the tournaments. Bad decision on their part.

Really enjoying the game so far. My KOTOR record is 27-6 and currently sitting at the top which I'm happy about. My rare Rock and Kane cards are doing real well.
They really need to tone down the amount of matches on that thing though. It takes way too long especially when I want access to those cards to upgrade them to pro versions.

I wonder if they're sweet on you when you go up a tier, it seems like every time I go to the next tier I get a card for that tier. Just got to Ultra Rare and like three matches after that got a UR Nikki (wish it was a UR Nicky)

I usually just dump them in un-leveled. The only thing I make sure I do is turn duplicate cards into the pro versions.
Also speaking of training, does anyone know if you get a bit more XP from a card by feeding it the same alignment type?
With two combined max level rares you get a card with a higher stat than your maxed out card AND the chance to level it up again from zero plus 5 more levels
One maxed out pro card gets higher stats than a simple sr maxed out card

Also, I love this game, been playing non-stop since it came out. So hard to get Divas above common though, finally got an uncommon aj lee
The better your exhibition hand is, the higher the rank. This includes higher levels and EXP as well as just the rarity rank.
And yeah, still not had a rare diva drop. At least my uncommon Eva will be pro when KOTR finishes.

So, just an example, I just battled a Lvl. 30 Pro SR Vince with 247 CHA.
I have a Pro SR Vince made from two max levels, and his CHA is 254. And he's only Lvl. 9. Do not ever combine without two max level cards is what I'm saying.

Yeah, that's generally how these kinds of games work - you want to max out the card levels before doing any sort of combine/merge type of level-up mechanic. It's how they oftne get people to pay when they have one really-super-rare drop but they need just one more of that card to get the max level up or whatever but HEY you can just purchase one for a special price but only for the next 2 days!

So not only do you have to do a long drawn out 45+ match sprint for contendership, you also have to win two out of three matches during the contenders bracket? Jesus, KOTR drags on forever.
Funny thing is, it's been going on so long that I really have no need for the potential rare cards since I'm already in the Ultra Rare division. As others have said, just a huge oversight on the way it's implemented.

I didn't even see your post, just ended up getting there as I posted that lol. What's your in-game name? With the timing, you might be in the same bracket.
Not p2w, not paid a penny and I'm 510-95. It's like top trumps, you get 1 or 2 stats and you play the best card you can. Best stats wins.

Yeah, top seed. Almost tempted to throw it so I can make pro cards out of some of my KOTR cards.
Probably my only KOTR run. The prizes at the end are simply not worth it and the tournament is too long.
25-1 at present (well leveled but no SR cards). Most of the field has quit already because I'm facing plenty of people with entire teams out of stamina and there's still 19 games left.
2K needs to either shorten the field to 8 players or lop the 3rd set of RR matches off the schedule. 45 "regular season" matches is way too many.

King of the Ring positively sucks. It takes like 2 and a half days to complete and by the time you get through one, you've outleveled the rare tier so getting two rares is useless to me. I'm on the super rare + tier and almost on the ++. I've got a pretty good team with 3 super rares and I'm waiting for KOTR to end so I can make two Rare pros.
The rewards get better when you get a better tier, so I'll probably do it again as I'm not seeing more SR cards right now. But yeah, it needs to be shortened.
You need to run at least one KOTR to unlock their use.
Nah, I'm still SR+ and all my mains bar the diva are SR. Just need a bit of luck.

I started to play last night. I am having fun with the exhibitions, but I think something is bugged with my King of the Ring. I go through the first two tutorial matches and then when it says to claim your reward it just freezes on the loading screen and never shows it to me. The only thing I can do is force close my program and then when I start it up again it is like I never attempted the KotR in the first place. It has happened about 6 times in a row. Really frustrating.

I'm still in my first King of the Ring. Ranked 3rd overall. I'm enjoying both but KOTR runs too long and the rewards don't look that great.
