Wow, really? I guess quite a few people have their head in the sand. Not trying to dismiss anything. Not trying to dismiss anything. A cop shooting an unarmed HUMAN is unacceptable in any event.

Yes really. The way in which you're bringing up the other story is not relevant here. Once again, this type of thing happens often to black people and very rarely to white people so a statement like "This never happens to white people" is far from the truth.

No one here said the other story is acceptable and it seems like you think they are.

Edit: This is pointless, you're more than likely going to be banned soon anyway.

Am I understanding it correctly that the cops are ordering Amnesty International out?

I saw some people mention it and found this photo.

Something seriously is wrong with the authorities there.

Was there any word on what happened to that German reporter that got arrested? I'm assuming he's out now writing a scathing article, lol.

I haven't heard anything yet. He could still be in jail right now, everyone I follow from people there to news are silent and most likely in bed. I should probably be in bed too it's 5:45am lol

It would absolute nuts if he was still locked up. I read somewhere in here that they said no members of the press were arrested, but who knows. Same, almost 7, lmao.

Thank you both, it's like pulling teeth to SlackAdjuster to even get any info.
Aand it's not really relevant to this story at all (so why bring it up at all), it's like pointing out to white inmates in a discussion about racial profiling.
Not relevant from a racial profiling standpoint, sure, but relevant from a "cop guns down unarmed kid... .. ... again" standpoint. One case carries more baggage than the other with race, but both share the same tragic end. There is relevance to a degree in the lawlessness of those who are supposed to enforce law.

Edit: I just realized I walked into an argument. I'm not that bright first thing in the morning :/ Didn't understand the context as to which this was being brought up. FML

Well one is clearly another example in the ongoing war of the police forces on its population it's supposed to be protecting, the other is more like the culmination of decades of oppression of a population by an occupation force.
They have similarity but I don't think they're really the same.
For all intent and purposes, what's going in Ferguson is occupation.

There's really nothing wrong with that, you pov as an outsider to this conversation is still valuable.

Yeah, I added an edit to my post. I hadn't read back far enough into the discussion for context. I missed it. I has the dumb this morning :(

Yep. They were forced out. And boy did they have something to say afterward https://twitter.com/amnesty/status/501600372847575040

We totally deserve to get this incident thrown in our faces every time our government starts preaching about a foreign country violating its citizens rights.

The thing that bothers me most about this story (well, next the utter disregard for decency and blatant racism) is how silent so many US politicians are being about it.

Wanted to highlight something from that article:
The journalists were processed, relieved of their personal belongings and transported to a jail in St. Louis. Requests for water were ignored. Requests for a phone call were always answered with "later".

After three hours, the journalists were released without explanation.

This was Graw's first arrest.

"This was a very new experience. I've been in several conflict zones: I was in the civil war regions in Georgia, the Gaza strip, illegally visited the Kaliningrad region when travel to the Soviet Union was still strictly prohibited for westerners, I've been in Iraq, Vietnam and in China, I've met Cuba dissidents. But to be arrested and yelled at and be rudely treated by police? For that I had to travel to Ferguson and St. Louis in the United States of America."

I don't understand what the heck are they doing in Ferguson. Do they want a Federal inquiry that bad? Because they are looking like a bunch of buffoons on a global scale.

Donald definitely can be rude and is known for his very bad temperament.

Can anyone tell me what the point of protesting at night is? Seems to me it just gives cover to the outsiders coming in to agitate. Most people grind away at work during the week would hear the voices during the day but are sleeping at night.

Anger doesn't have a bedtime.

Should be able to protest 24 fucking 7.

Why not? Protesting at agreed 'ok times kind of defeats the point.

Young man on the Vice stream claimed Michael Brown did not steal cigarillos (also evidenced by the footage showing money being left on the counter and the shopkeeper taking it), rather that he kept being given the wrong ones and reached over the counter for the ones he actually wanted.
I'm just catching up, so apologies if this has been addressed, is this true?

Edit: Actually, I'm remembering that Dorian Johnson said he took the cigarillos without paying, so I don't know why the guy on the Vice stream would say this.

if nobody protested, there wouldn't have been a 2nd or 3rd autopsy...

people want Wilson arrested; protests won't stop until that happnes

Wow. The footage does tend to lean in this direction.
