I remember this event being a mini train wreck as far as speakers/presentations go. Does that sound right to you all? I remember there being a lot of comments about translators and how now one could understand.

That's too CG to be real. Just capitalising on the credibility of the Project Beast leak.

As little as the webm shows, I don't think it looks like a JRPG. I actually have no idea what genre this would lead to. Gives me Kara vibes, but I would be pretty disappointed if Studio Japan made a Quantic Dream-esque game.

The speakers train wrecks were mostly because most of you all have no nuance of how the Japanese handle their presentation. The 'uu, ahs, desu, sou desu nes' are common when Japanese present themselves on stage in a conversational manner.
Translation was terrible though. SCEJA please. You're a multinational, it shouldn't be hard to find a well-verse translator.
Games announcements.
Historically, Sony invites major third-party publishers to come on stage and announce games coming to Sony platforms, and Sony uses it to announce their games as well occasionally.
One can consider this event to be thetrue TGS for console owners, because being a Sony event, they only announce games coming to their platforms, so no mobile and iOS.
What's the over/under on Project Diva F3 being announced for PS4? I think that'd push me over the edge to get one. That, and a bunch of RPG announcements...
TGS is like the make or break for me - if Japan officially gives up on consoles then I think I'm done with new games for the foreseeable future.

Yeah probably, but I guess if they announce something that appeals the Japanese market they could get a small bump in sales and direct the attention to the PS4 days before the release of the XBO.

To America. We never got to play it here in the UK/Europe. What a pisser.
I did import the Hong Kong version of Toro Let's Party with the English subtitles though. Shoddy translation aside, it was good fun. Would love to have something like that again for the new gen.

Absolutely. MS is sending engineers to help devs on Xbox One projects, Sony should be helping JP devs port to PS4. Even if that shit's cross gen it'd be a nice bonus in their library. Much as I love my PS3's library, I'd really rather never buy a game for it again if it were all on PS4 instead.
