In fact anyone, not just police, has a right to defend themselves from a knife wielding attacker with deadly force.

That article counters what the poster I quoted said. The poster said the bullet that entered the right eye brow was the last shot. The article mentions the bullet that entered the top of the skull was last.

So a knife wielding assholes life is more important than a civil servant doing their job? Wow.

If somebody has a knife and is near the officer, I'm not surprised if a cop uses their gun. Knives are incredibly dangerous.

I feel like "one step up" is the most they should go. if the person is unarmed, you have a baton, taser, other options. A gun simply shouldn't be used in such a case. Call backup and go after the guy. if he's gets away temporarily, you can track him down in other ways. cops are just too quick and eager to pull their gun in cases that can and should be settled without deadly force.

It's an effective tactic. Misdirect the people into fighting amongst themselves drawing attention from the real problem. The American political system in a nutshell.

What does it matter which of those two head shots was last? They had to be both in relatively quick succession.

If he did have a knife, then that situation is a life-threatening one and, to me, does justify the use of a firearm.
 
Don't know if this has been posted yet, but somebody started a crowd raising campaign for Darren Wilson. Not going to link to it, and I don't want to derail the thread, but I can't but help think of the similarities of between Wilson/Brown and Zimmerman/Martin are taking.
 
Knife-wielder charging cops in this town? That's crazy talk. They gas protesters and kill unarmed people.

That's literally taking your life into your hands.

Two police officers, which should be trained. Their priority should be to the citizens which they are sworn to protect. Look, obviously they shouldn't die if that's the only option you take it, but it seems like guns should be the absolute last resort. Even a witness said they felt gun were over excessive here. Given the current climate, it's surprising to me that the two officers shot and killed him.

It is crazy. Regardless of the actions of the cops. You make it sound like charging someone with a knife would be reasonable in any place other than ferguson.

Attempting to take another's life is always taking your life into your hands.
 
This situation just gets more frustrating. All people wanted was justice for Mike Brown and a conversation about why this shit keeps happening. It isn't an isolated incident, it's the latest in a continuing pattern. Instead all we've seen since then is the police and their supporters doing nothing but rub salt in the wounds. They're not just denying theres a problem but actively contributing to it. Then those same people turn around and wonder why the protesters don't just shut up and go home. So depressing.

First, I would like to know if there is another credible source out there that I am not aware of so I can look at that information.

Second, already quite a bit of misinformation flowing in this thread. So I feel as if accuracy is very important, in order to reduce that flow.

Michael Brown could have survived five of the six gunshots fired at him by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, but the last shot to the top of his head killed him, a privately conducted autopsy found.

The two shots that hit Brown in the head were likely among the last that hit him and traveled from the back of his head to the front, indicating that Brown's head was tilted forward, either because he was bending over or falling over, forensic expert Dr. Michael Baden said at a news conference today. Brown had abrasions on his face from where he "fell flat down unprotected," Baden said.

"The kill shot is right here, at the apex of his head," attorney Darrell Parks said.

A gunshot wound to his arm could show either that he was hit while walking away from the shooter with his back to the officer, or that he was facing the shooter with his arm up, either in a surrender position, defensive position, or other motion, Baden said.

Brown likely did not suffer, Baden said. The shot to the top of his head would have rendered him unconscious immediately, he said.

The 23 year old killed sounds like at this point, "death by cop". The person is too afraid to commit suicide so they get a cop to kill them.

if anything the cops are just proving the point that we need some serious reform in how the law is upheld

An attacker with a knife will reach you before you have time to pull your gun and aim within a 20 feet range. Don't believe me? test it. Have a friend hold a remote control and surprise you with a rush from that distance and you won't have time to reach for your pretend gun and aim at him.

I didnt believe it before trying it myself with a few people during a formation

Yep that's the only reason why people like myself have a reason to be upset at police right now, because it's "cool" to hate police at the moment. I was so confused, thank you...

And I stand by what I said, Plenty of countries which do not have armed police deal with knife wielders without killing them dead. I guess I value life in general.
 
People are seriously debating whether this new incident was justifiable or not???

It's not even close to being like the Mike Brown situation.

We know the cops are assholes or can be but come on...

Its going to raise tensions regaurdless.

You already have people saying the cops should of tased him like they knew that was an option.

From the cops he was 3-4 feet away, making threats and approaching officers.
