I remember when me and my friends came back from the brawl midnight.
My friend who owned the Wii was forced by to play on Shadow Moses until we unlocked snake. Since everyone had a main on the starter besides me that they were attached to. After that we played until 5am going through all the stages that were available. What a great time.

Yeah I'm definitely starting on classic mode with Mario, then moving on to Wario for a while before I even touch anyone else to get used to him, then the same for both DK and Captain Falcon. (and Snake, if he's in.)

You probably already made your decision, but I'm going to chime in anyways. About a month ago I managed to get an barely used Original Black 3DS (with Pokémon X & Fire Emblem: Awakening) for about ~$86 (it wasn't even an auction, I just bought it).
(Speaking of, does anyone want a Japanese copy of Awakening [I already own a copy in a language I can read]. If anybody is interested, I'm will to sort it put through PM)
I'm probably going straight into Classic with one of the new characters (planning on Villager, but who knows).

Although sad as it is, I can't way I haven't been living with an outside worry (no matter how impossible) that Mega Man being in Smash would suddenly be canceled one day before release, given how things have been going for his games recently.

I wonder who's going to be unlockable, if anyone.
Definitely gonna take Olimar for a spin in the single-player mode. I'm always excited/nervous to get a feel for the changes made to my most used characters.

I still prefer the idea that characters aren't but costumes are.
But that would require all characters having a ALT which we don't know still.

I never owned Smash 64 back when it came out so I played it at various friends' houses. I eventually grew a liking to Luigi and Ness.
When I first got Melee, I used Mario because he was the easiest to use back then and I didn't really use everyone else on the roster except Ness. I wanted to learn the basics and get the feel of the game down.
Then Brawl....I didn't have a Wii then so I immediately went to my friend's house and tried out my boy Luigi cause he already had him unlocked. I actually liked Luigi but was disappointed in the nerf of his dair and fair .
So with Smash 4 3DS, I guess I'll use Mario and Olimar and unlock people until I get to Palutena

With any luck, I'll have friends around to head straight into multiplayer. (I can't imagine not finding someone to hang out with for the Smash launches, but who knows. People have busy schedules these days.)
I should figure out who I'll play first. I don't know if we'll get any more newcomers before launch. Out of the ones we know so far, I'll probably try Mega Man. But I tried him at the demo, so maybe Greninja. Actually Little Mac looks cool. Agggh, can't decide. I want a new comer first for sure.
Last time I played Pit against a friend's Metaknight first match. For some dumb reason I think we left time mode on. I actually won the match. I still have the match saved as a replay, too. Hopefully that feature comes back. My first Melee match... I think I played as Bowser at a friend's request against a CPU Ice Climbers. With 64, I don't remember my first multiplayer match, but I remember bringing it home and my brother immediately beating classic mode lol.

Mario's always the first character I choose in any Smash Bros. Go through classic mode with him and get used to the controls and gameplay. Then I ditch him after a playthrough for my mains

But his awful air speed is such a turn off.
This is why we should get Doc back. He has Mario's mobility + combos AND Luigi's killing power. Best of both worlds.
Every smash bros ever, except this one, My first match was as follows:
Me, my two brothers, and 1 friend (different each time). I picked Link. Smash 64 was hyrule castle, smash melee was Venom (don't know why), and brawl was bridge of eldin. All items on. 3 Stock. No time limit (not unlocked yet!) After that it was 'choose another character until you've played them all'
This time, since i'm getting it early, and it's on 3DS, it'll be just me

Agree. Now she's wearing something similar to what actual women have actually worn. Most people don't wear skintight bodysuits outside of... scuba diving. And even those wetsuits aren't specifically tailored to accent certain body parts.

He's always been an unlockable so technically he's not always playable.
Yeah, I gave the Wiimote and the Wiimote/Nunchuck a fair try, Just couldn't do it lol.
Actually I've been hearing about 1 or 2 3DS tourneys being done around my area in October. Pretty exciting. Of course the main tournament scene will be with the Wii U version.
I really hope so.

Shulk is going to be revealed on Monday, and we just got Meta Knight last week, so either Wario, Ness, or Ice Climbers (or more) will be revealed along with Shulk.
