Yes. But MOST of the protesters want him gone (as I hear it) including Mike Brown's parents.

That McDonalds is private property. If McDonalds wants them to leave, the police can arrest all the protesters for trespassing. But McDonalds employees/manager would have to tell the police to move them. Otherwise the police have no business moving them.

I have no idea if that McDonalds has made calls to the police.

The worst part is, they're making an enemy out of the one group (The journalists) who could be their biggest ally. It's one thing if a journalist gets too close or something, but forcing them all into a media zone will not help them.

I was getting gas at the pump Saturday morning after a long night of work. This black guy who looked around my age was in a car with some white girl. He started fucking yelling at this old white man in a truck, I don't even know what about. He then began yelling about me being a rude hillbilly white motherfucker and said he would knock my teeth out.

I didn't even realize he was telling about me till I was in my car on the highway processing his words. The first thing I thought of was Ferguson and how this git could have been blowing off steam. I was looking at him as he ranged out but he never looked my way.

I have a biracial family that means more to me than anything. That whole experience has put me in a Funk. I'm not angry at the guy, I'm not angry at what happened to me personally, but Im very upset about the whole atmosphere that breeds this dirty if hate.

As for everyone downplaying the term's effect on a personal level, I grew up in an area with an over 90% white population, with almost every minority being Native American. Someone in my community was called a "cracker" multiple times by two Native Americans in public. This was not uncommon, as tensions sometimes run high between white people and Native Americans in that community. But in this case, he was called a "cracker" while walking down the sidewalk before he had his fucking head caved in with baseball bats. They literally didn't know him and had never seen him before, but they put him in a coma. He never recovered from his injuries and died several years later.

That doesn't change that Native Americans are routinely treated as second class citizens still to this day, and most of them are the poorest members of my old community. They are discriminated against on the very soil taken from them, but their plight is not undermined by acknowledging that minorities can dehumanize. So obviously the attack I mentioned goes deeper socially than just some rogue bad apples, but it's still fucking dehumanizing when that word comes from someone who actively does or wants to cause you harm based on your skin color alone. I don't give a shit how you try to justify it.

Officer with his assault rifle up in the air pointed directly at what I assume is mainly if not all media on the other side of a small fence from them on CNN.

And in the middle of so many of these groups of out of town agitators are almost as many media members also disobeying police orders to clear the street. They're fueled by the hits and followers they get.

If you removed all the out of town agitators and the members of the media that don't genuinely care about anything but hits you'd have nothing but peaceful protests right now.

Makes me sick. I have friends who's kids can't go to school. Local owned businesses are losing countless dollars.

I get the outrage. I support the outrage. But these opportunists need to go the fuck home.

At least that trooper talking to Tim and the nearby locals was being helpful, kindly telling them where to go and what to do when they get there. Whoever is on this megaphone is sounding like a jerk. "Get out of our way so we can do our jobs."

Anybody who is intelligent and is following the events can see the good.

The racist fucking idiots in this country can't see shit. They will always see what they want. There are plenty of Americans who are happy that black people get killed by cops and they don't even hide it.

I have this tiny, tiny thing in my head where I hesitate to paint them as opportunists.
Not saying that kind of thing isnt happening, clearly it is. Some people from San Diego? Please. (I live there) But I also do not want to discount people who have literally the same desire for justice because of things that have happened to/near them in their community, and are coming here because this is where they feel they can be heard. Lord knows we all know wanting to be heard is a very real desire, he said, posting to the internet forum of strangers.
