I'll just assume that the leaker only saw an early vid and assumed that was the build, since I compared and the vid I linked is produced more recently.

I have a feeling this is legit. That thickness thing is a detail I think a faker would have a hard time to imagine, and a lot of the shots show things that clearly seem to fit the Smash aesthetic.

What makes it a "clear" fake? We have incredible renders of DH, Bowser Jr., Shulk and Dr. Mario that can't be found anywhere else. It's checked out in more ways than one. The only possible indications of fakery are perceived UI inconsistencies that might be due to newer builds or amount to nothing, like people thinking Brawl's CSS was fake due to the position of certain boxes, etc.

This leak is so delicate it's crazy. There's a stage list and everything. I was soooo confident this leak wouldn't last more than a few hours but here we are, Smash Run pic.

I'm a firm believer that it's fake as hell for millions of reasons. The thing about Ness's t-shirt and Mr. Game & Watch's outline are the biggest ones to me, as stupid as it sounds. Also because Ganondorf's icon looks like total garbage.

Fire Emblem Trophy = Robin and Lucina
Fake Palutena = Palutena
Kraid = Ridley
Fi = Zelda rep.

The character placement is silly and the colors behind the fighters are actually bad, it looks so random. The name "DuckHunt" is lazy. I can see some people looking at this like a real thing but I can't help but feel it's fake.

Regardless, the leaked images do leave room for 5 slots and one random. And Sakurai is a perfectionist, so he wouldn't leave it as is.

Also the person who revealed Wii Fit Trainer, etc. also talked about DLC and Lucas being cut from the main game.

The leak is real. The first real Nintendo leak in history.

You ignored the fact that it's a two player game. The UI changes during that. You can not ignore this fact. You can clearly see the line thickness in the first link which is not a multiplayer battle.

No parting of the top and bottom screen on the "3DS", suggests computer based image, unless this is the new TurboDSXL
Characters having grey backgrounds when they're coloured in the demo and even in some shots here
"ESRB" who don't even play the game

Upon further inspection, I no longer consider this compelling evidence against.

Scouter placement is different, lighting on head is different, coloring of eye area is different, and the matchup with that differently-angled body looks really good.

I know I've brought this up already but there's a similar glaring detail he missed with Game & Watch, he doesn't have an outline anymore. Likely to avoid issues with the outlines on the 3DS characters. Never thought Mr. Game & Watch of all guys would get a redesign, but here we are.

Looking at the G&W on the character screen here, he's got an outline.

I mean, there's so much wrong that it feels silly to nitpick over minor character inconsistencies, but that's what stands out most to me.

Also how convenient it is that the ugliest character icons are the ones we don't see up close and look the closest to Brawl. I feel like whoever did this made some cool Ness and Duck Hunt renders and decided to slap together the rest to go with it.

That's a damn good point. This isn't Melee which we know was rushed to the market. Smash 4 for either the 3DS or Wii U is not going to have a franchise that gets not even one stage as representation. Not when we've been adding like 12 Mario stages and what not. This really better be a Page 1 of X for stages if this leak turns out real.
