Nobody is marching against police, though. They are marching against bad practices carried out by the police. I hate this polarizing narrative bullshit.

Bizarrely, the New York Post felt the complusion to "support" the NYPD, whatever that means:

Hey man, you gotta support a department who has a history of using their power to inflict abuse upon minorities. If you don't support them...are you really American?

Not sure if this is old, but:

Ferguson Sued by National Bar Association Over Brown Documents

The city of Ferguson, Missouri, and its police department were sued by the National Bar Association for documents related to the shooting of an unarmed black teenager Michael Brown.

The lawsuit, filed today in state court, also seeks to preserve all evidence connected to the shooting, including police officers’ notes and data collected from the scene of the shooting, according to an e-mailed statement by Brian Henderson, a spokesman for the organization.

Henderson provided a copy of the complaint, which couldn’t be immediately confirmed in court records.

The case is National Bar Association v. City of Ferguson, 14SL-CC02787, Division 8 of the Circuit Court of the County of St. Louis.

I had several "friends" post this on their Facebook pages. I cringed while reading it; beyond terrible and so divisive. Love how they blame Garner for his own death, and paint him as this dangerous, lethal illegal cigarette seller.

U.S. President Barack Obama has ordered a review of the distribution of military hardware to state and local police out of concern at how such equipment has been used during racial unrest in Ferguson, Missouri.

Well, that's a step in the right direction. Can't get too optimistic about it, though, since the militarization of the police force is making a shit-ton of money for some very powerful players.

Sounds to me like it means "We have no problem with your continued use of racial profiling and strong armed tactics which resulted in the death of an unarmed man in front of many witnesses."

Not surprised at all. Even if there was a struggle for the gun, Brown fled when he lost that struggle. If you're fleeing from the cops, what would make you turn around? A cop firing a gun, that's what.

How many bullets do the police guns usually hold? 1 went off in the car, 6 hit brown...

the chief did at least say that if he were a probationary officer he would have been instantly fired

policeman's union means they have to jump through a lot of disciplinary hoops for people who have been around for a while. from the article i read the chief said the right things.

So I wonder how anti-union conservative types feel about police unions?

Not sure if old, but Ferguson PD are now changing their story from running towards Wilson to running away.

this is shitty blogspam. you should have just linked to the article they pulled that crap from and highlighted the part you wanted to misrepresent. now i've been called a right wing racist.

i'm pretty sure the disputed part is where Mr. Brown actually got shot (not shot at while running away). Was he executed with his hands in the air, or did he make a move towards the officer? If he gave himself up, it's murder, throw away the key. If he did make a move against the cop, he should get something lesser. i'm not really versed in law, but i feel shooting at an unarmed suspect is still wrong and he deserves something.

I never understood how a conservative paper like the NY Post flourishes in the most liberal city in America. Is it because of upstate?

quoting again for the new page. Its great that everyone is coming after them between the NAACP, ACLU, this organization and the DOJ breathing down their neck.

fantastically comical. Why can't they makeup their mind?

At one point tonight, Michael Brown protesters chanted "hands up, don't shoot!"
Darren Wilson supporters responded: "Shoot! Shoot! Shoot!"

Fantastic.

history. It wasn't always a Rupert Murdoch rag. It's an old NYC paper and New Yorkers love tradition shit like that.

also, I keep coming back to this idea that if you challenge a cop, it's a justified death sentence. A lot of people believe that, and it's fucking weird.
