Having trouble thinking about where I want my future monitor purchases to go.
My room is relatively small and only has space for one TV / Monitor, or maybe two side by side at a squeeze. Theoretically I could put a big one there, like a 32" or something (Big for a monitor, I mean). In the shared rooms I can't guarantee that I'll have it to myself when I want it, naturally.
Currently I have a 1080p 60hz monitor that has one HDMI in and a DVI in. My PC is on DVI in and I use an HDMI splitter thing to juggle my WiiU, PS4 and XBO on the single input. When looking at G-synch monitors, they all tend to only have a single Display port input. This is problematic if HDMI in is the only way I can get consoles running on them.
I don't want to do 4k just yet, and I'm eager for G-sync. But I don't really need it. 1440p might have problems scaling for some games that only play nice with 1080p resolutions, and would look a bit suboptimal if I'm trying to play 1080p consoles on them. 720p wiiU should look fine.
Is there a way to go HDMI->DisplayPort? Does it work well? Would I be better just trying to set up an alternate TV for the consoles?
