Hopefully the battery/camera is the primary focus since this is Motorola. GNEX/N4/N5 have all had shit batteries and cameras.

Moto has never really had a problem with battery, but they did say the camera and battery would be their focus for the X+1. Maybe some of that focus will spill over for the Nexus...

Love my Nexus 5, best phone I've ever had. Only got it in March so I'll be okay to hold on to it for as long as I can. The screen size really is perfect.

If the next Nexus only has 5.9" I'll be getting an iPhone 6 (4.7") or if there is still a good Lumia to stick with WP. 5 inches is the maximum for me.

I think that Google should release a small z2 compact type phone as a refreshed nexus 4, update the nexus 5 internals, and then have the nexus x phablet. covers all the bases.

I'll pass since I have a Note 3 and 5.7" (14.5cm) is just a little to big for me. Next time I won't go over 5-5.25" (10-13cm).

Nexus 4 has the perfect screen size. Would love to upgrade because of battery life, but I don't want a screen that big.

Honestly don't see why this thread was necessary... There has been rumors for weeks. Some point to a 5.2 inch screen and others to a 5.9. I don't want to see a thread until a picture/video leaks.

Nexus 5 is like the perfect size though, why go bigger?

well in my case, i went from a Note 2 to an Oppo Find 7. The Find 7 has a larger screen, but it actually is a smaller phone overall. I can also use it in one hand. Same res and processor as this phone. The thing absolutely flies.

this is the 6.3" Samsung Galaxy Mega

wear real pants

I know you're a Note fan, what do you think about a 5.9" Nexus with these specs vs the Note line?

I'd rather not have a pocket dedicated to just my phone. I've carried my phone and wallet in the same pocket for 10 years. Wallet in back pocket = bleh

Dafuq? You have 2 pockets for a reason. Phone in one, wallet in the other...

I hate the trend to increase screen resolution above 1080p. You're just pointlessly throwing away battery life and GPU performance for no real tangible benefit. Honestly, on a <5" phone anything more than 720p is probably overkill. Text is already incredibly sharp on my Nexus 4, I value battery life and performance far higher than any increased sharpness over a Nexus 4.

I got the 6" 1520, never more a phone that big
It's just not convenient to carry, around 4,5 - 5 is the sweet spot

I will agree with you at 1080p being a reasonable limit, but I much prefer my Nexus 5 pixel density to the Nexus 4, so I think 720p shouldn't be acceptable for a flagship over 4.5". I haven't spent much time with the G3, but I can say that it's less of a noticeable jump from the Nexus 5 than the Nexus 4 -> 5 is.

Yup. Thing is android phone makers will sadly continue the inane spec wars as that's the only way they know how to meaningfully differentiate their future phones. At this point they should focus on battery life and increasing performance at 720p/1080p.

Ding ding ding

Depends if they can make progress towards removing the bevel. The new sharp aqous crystal is a great step in this direction (bonus of not looking like an anonymous black rectangle also)

peeps keep acting like battery life has been getting worse when it's been getting better every year.

# values battery life
# owns a Nexus 4

lol

5.9" is huge!!
With iPhone 6, a new Nexus and other stuff coming out I have one helluva decision to make in December when I can upgrade.

I have a galaxy s4 and have zero interest in a new phone until battery life is good enough to go for days and days. All phones are fast as hell with beautiful screens. The hype has died. Diminishing returns. Waste of money to upgrade. Etc.

Battery life and physical innovation like the sharp crystal or something crazy like the Kyocera echo was brave enough to try.
