Of course, the GBA generation only lasted 4 years as well.
Im lost.
So whats the story here, given it has a second thumbstick (of sorts) and extra shoulder buttons, are we going to see games that ONLY work on the new 3DSLL? Will some games not work or just not run as well if they utilise the systems slight performance bump?
Seems an unnecessary segregation.
I dont really understand who this system is marketed for or why system developers would target this using the extra buttons etc rather than just target the much larger 3DS install base.
Why even do a small update like this instead of a new system entirely?
>Your avatar.Addin "New" to the name of hardware eh? Nintendo sucks at naming :>
Probably couldn't fit a full sized second analog stick. Still, if it's mainly for the camera it'll do its job.Hmm, R-analog joystick seems to be bit too small. Somehow reminded me of IBM's track point.
Is the Vita lcd also a new portable?Same GPU
No higher res screen
Is rather pathetic for a new portable, even by Nintendo standards.
A Very Important Question has just come to mind:
Will this be able to run Unity?
If so, that's a *huge* deal from a dev perspective.
Is the Vita lcd also a new portable?
I don't think the comparisons to the ds/Dsi are the same thing
Probably we are talking about just a faster ARM11 CPU, for compatibility reasons, so I guess the answer is NOPE.
Alright, I'm ready to buy one once it release basically just because of the coloured buttons. But, the real question is, is the region lock still in place?

thats the new c-stick I guess?
DS revisions were never this substantial as to make the system entirely different and have a control scheme only it has.
But, the real question is, is the region lock still in place?
I think so.
Oh shit...Is it microSD only?
In a year, we won't have anything but shovelware coming out for the regular 3DS/2DS systems.
That doesn't look as nice. :/
Damn, I never knew I'd seriously consider opting for the smaller version just for some retro buttons and face plates, but it's happening.
Wait, so, I'm confused.
It's a "New 3DS" that effectively serves its moniker by putting in new buttons and what is essentially a second stick.
But the games coming out for it are going to still be playable on the old 3DS, no? With that said, I want it, but not enough to actually buy one. Unless there are 3DS games coming out that will effectively require this, with the estimates that some of GAF have been throwing out about when the 3DS would get retired, it seems a little late in the game for something of this nature to arrive.
I hope the camera improvements happen also in existing software.
Nah man its gotta 170 200.Prepare for it to be rounded at 150 180.
You can buy and play Xenoblade on a Wii or Wii U today. You don't own either? What is wrong with you!
Furthermore you can buy the joystick add-on for your 3DS to play any games that make use of the new nub, it is the same exact functionality.
- 2DS (only runs certain games)
- 3DS (only runs certain games)
- 3DS XL (only runs certain games)
- New 3DS
- New 3DS XL
Let's see parents figure that one out! -_-
I'm not "outraged", I just find it hilarious as a new hardware, which, whatever you try to argue, is obvious that it is. In the same way the New Ipad was new hardware. We are seeing the same exact tactic, just Nintendo style (in the most cheapest way).
From the moment it has a retail exclusive game (and probably more) in the way, stops being similar to a DSi and becomes similar to a GBC and other new hardware (you know that getting a PS2 you had access to a vast array of PS1 games?)
Are the a9/a15's not backwards comaptiable?
Uh...the 2DS and 3DS can each run the same games...
What does LL stand for? Is that a Japanese thing?
