I wonder if that's a tease for Halo 5 music. It seems TOO radically different from the Halo 2 soundtrack.
I would be very OK with this. H2 music was the best of the series for me, this is like H2 on roids.

I just rewatched the part and you got that wrong.
They said: "We wanted to do something meaningful, which would affect the universe permanently".
This could mean so many things, including that she is dead forever. I doubt that, though. It will probably be an other scenario where we have to save Cortana. Well, at least I hope so.
Did they by chance show any halo 3 or 4 today? Really intrigued to see them at higher res!
That's incorrect. It will be an option that we can use when making customs.
Halo Legends soundtrack, ya'll. Which was also excellent.
They showed the first level of Halo 3 but honestly I'd wait for direct feed footage, you can't tell any difference from the stream.

My bad, I wasn't taking custom games into consideration.
Oh snap...
How did I miss this?!
Thanks![]()
hey thanks, man this makes me want to thump my chest and go fight some covies and f'runners!
If you guys want a tease of Halo 5 music, I'm pretty sure that first look video had some. Check out the music starting around the 2:00 mark:

Sounds really good to me. Sorta reminds me of "117", which ranks among my top Halo tracks of all time.
Panel was pretty awesome overall. I can't wait to jump into Halo 1 & 2 Anniversary and use the Game DVR to record. That's going to be a lot of fun.
You're welcome! You guys got to check out Halo Legends from way when back.
Im shocked nobody asked about a PC version.
Maybe I did jump the gun a bit. They also did mention Johnson right before he said that too though.
Cortana remaining 'dead' is actually a pretty interesting concept. Having her be such a prominent and important figure throughout the series, to suddenly be without her would make for a very different experience.
I suspect she'll reappear at some point though, we still don't know much about what happened when she was with the Gravemind.
Welp. Time to start saving for an X1. Also is this going to be made available digitally? I have $270 Xbox credit to spend.

so can we play h2a with the classic soundtrack ? they make it sound like switching to the old version is required

Per the Q/A, it sounds like when you play classic Halo 2, you only get classic audio, and when you play Halo 2 Anniversary you only get remastered audio. So no mix and match, unlike with CEA.
Huge bummer. I loved playing CEA with Anniversary graphics, but with classic music. =(
Same. Whenever I played CEA I just played with Classic music.
I'd honestly hope that you can select which audio source to use prior to playing, but I don't think it'll happen. Fingers crossed though!
Edit: There's confirmation on this at around 1:05:00 of the panel.

Halo 3 looked beautiful in motion, and the new lighting engine, while not extremely different, lends some serious beauty to a well designed and well aged game.
Has 343/Stinkles mentioned if they are going to host a 1080/60 online version of the clip?
Nice details. Sounds like a lot of fun.I got to attend the panel, it was amazing. The sound in that theater was so loud and so balanced that each shot from the remastered audio felt good.

I was first in line yesterday to try out Lockdown, and I got first place. Not only that, @Halo tweeted a picture of me playing before the hall opened. Pretty fucking awesome.
H2A feels so right, and the new Forge stuff has me super optimistic for it. We'll get some new maps from some creative community members, and we'll have a game that will last us on multiplayer until the next game, or even after.
Also I was the guy who asked about the Halo CEA transition, since the guy before me asked about the Armor customization. I wanted to ask if all the permutations were unlocked from the get go, but I didn't want to belabor the already asked and dodged answer.

anything with bxb and bxr glitches? haven't seen anyone use them in the tournaments.
Unrelated, but congrats on getting member status back <3
