Loving this "So why do people hate Gambit so much thread". Join me in the laughter, folks.

But really, Gambit just sort of vanished as far as I remember. But until recently I was way behind on Marvel, as I've mentioned.
Didn't he have his own (surprisingly good) solo title last year? Now he's staring in All New X-Factor.

That is all quite possible. Like I said I am not caught up, especially when it comes to Gambit. It's just funny the things people are saying about him.

I'd highly, highly suggest buying the omnibus.
Regarding the binding, speaking as someone who's spoiled by great bindings (my only previous omnibuses were X-Statix, Colossal Conan, and Big Damn Sin City which all have absolutely perfect sewn bindings) the binding on Doom Patrol isn't ideal, but it definitely hasn't given me any issues at all. At no point in reading it has the binding caused any gutter loss or anything. It won't lay perfectly flat, but it also won't cause you any problems.

That sounds like Planetary. It was a bit stiff at first, I tried laying it on its spine and slowing opening from the edges until I got to the center, and then closing it from there. It's now perfectly usable, but the front cover still doesn't (and probably will never) lay flat on its own.

Started reading Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. The first few pages have been great. (And the box set is amazing).

Nausicaa is wonderful stuff, and it's really interesting seeing the influence of the bandes dessinées (through Moebius, who was a friend of his) on Miyazaki's work. It reads very differently from most manga.

is Magneto still an X-Man / good guy?

None of my picks made it...

Anyway, here's the Rronglist. I dropped Future's End a while ago and will only pick the tie-ins if there's like massive praise for some of them.
Batman Eternal #22
Justice League #33

Southern Bastards #4

Captain America #24
Death Of Wolverine #1
Original Sin #8
Rocket Raccoon #3
She-Hulk #8
Superior Foes Of Spider-Man #15
Uncanny X-Men #25

No, but I'll often listen to podcasts or watch something on Netflix.

Only noise I can listen too is white noise or classical music turned really low.

Plowed through a bunch of the JSA omnibus tonight. I haven't even hit the Geoff Johns stuff yet. It has been mostly James Robinson so far. It has been excellent. The first 9 issues dealt with the original JSA in the 40's. That story was very entertaining but it also set up the future really nice.

Did this start as an event and it evolved or was it planned from the get go? Who was the architect behind getting this book started?

I doubt any of you guys have experience with this but it's worth asking just in case.

So I just found out that I will be moving out of state in the next 2-ish weeks. I thought this was gonna happen in the next 2 or so months.

I have two pending orders with IST, if I were to change my accounts address will they then mail the 2 orders to the new address?

I emailed IST about it as well, waiting for their response.

Comixology's new weekly sales are up. DC's annual September event month issues are up for .99 cents each (Zero and Villain issues) and Image's "school-themed" books, including Morning Glories, Deadly Class and Five Weapons.

I've heard good things about Deadly Class, in fact the first volume is already in my cart. I know DC's event month's haven't been as warmly received, but surely there's some quality reading to be had nonetheless. What were the best Zero and Villains Month (especially those that are completely stand-alone and don't tie-in to Forever Evil) issues?

I enjoyed the Parasite issue that Aaron Kuder wrote & drew, which is Superman #23.4. I believe Messi really loved Batman: The Dark Knight #23.4 as well.

As for Image stuff, Five Weapons was a lot of fun. Haven't read it since it came back though, might jump on it here

Isn't "The Dark Night #23.4" written by Ann Nocenti? I've managed to make it by without reading even a single issue she has written. I don't want to sabotage those efforts.

Am I still in the club? Reading some New Teen Titans. :3

EDIT: Almost forgot.

Wild Wild List! (Sisqo, Sisqo...)

Alice Cooper #1
Black Widow #10
Death of Wolverine #1
Lumberjanes #5
Original Sin #8
Rocket Raccoon #3
She-Hulk #8
Spider-Man 2099 #3
Steven Universe #2

oh yeah, in for 2099 and i guess ill see how Original Sin ends but i'm already forgetting about it

cannot see getting hyped for death of wolvy, it's happened at least twice and been terrible both times

oh shit, let's see if Moon Knight 7 is terrible too...also i'm sticking with Iron Fist but i'm not optimistic, really missing the bru book now

Started rereading Alias. Street level BENDIS is best BENDIS

Team Bendis is worst Bendis.

PREACH

also someone sell me on Doom Patrol

I think it was a Robinson/Goyer joint at first, IIRC Johns was a new boy at the time. If you like what Robinson is doing there definitely check out his Starman run. It's all about legacy and family, fathers and sons. An amazing collection of comics.

It is one of DCs best series ever. And they released omnibuses with all the issues this time around. Also in the vein of JSA check out Robinsons else world tale Golden Age. Fun stuff

Wait, morning Glories is still going on? I felt like I was reading yhe same issue over and over. And what happened to all those Nick Spender books with all your favorite artists?

Ventriloquist
Poison Ivy
Harley Quinn
Mongul
Deadshot
Killer Frost
Shadow Thief
BlackBlack Adam
Parasite

I need to read through issues 2-3 of Wicked + Divine. The hype train for that here has fallen off the tracks and I need to figure out why.

I think it's because the hype train is usually just for first issues. After that, people settle into a rhythm of just reading it.

Personally I dropped it after #1 in favour of tradewaiting it.

OMG THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! Thanks this thread for making me aware of Doom Patrol.

Just read the first two issues and I'm loving it! With a name like "Doom Patrol" I expected something goofy but man did I get the opposite the way Morrison works these horror elements in was just down right eerie it reminds me of the early issues of Sandman.

Is the rest of the run just as good?

Oof. Green Lantern Corps #34 was rough. I feel bad for John, but really,
Real Yrra was right in her accusations against him
and brought up legit points.

It's a good solid book, and an interesting concept, you should definitely read it at some point. That said IMHO after 3 issues it's going SLOW. Like the pace of the story completely dropped off after issue 1 some how. Maybe that's why some of the hype has died down not as much has happened.

She definitely brought up legit points. She has this major personality switch and he never questions it, just goes along for the ride. This means he's slept with a Durlan right?

Uh so I read the Avengers Assemble issues where Thanos and the Guardians of the Galaxy are there... is this canon? It is lile a prototype infinity? I mean they talk about the council and earth being off limits already, but the team is totally different.
How does this fit in timewise?

Nobody? :(

Wait, morning Glories is still going on? I felt like I was reading yhe same issue over and over. And what happened to all those Nick Spender books with all your favorite artists?

Apparently there will be an update on all the Image titles he announced before he signed with Marvel at NYCC in October, according to his Tumblr.

I have two TPBs of Morning Glories to read. Oops. I like it but I sort of wish it wasn't going on and on and on and on - I'm not frustrated by twist upon twist upon twist per se but it would be nice to have an idea when they're going to get resolved.

Nope. That was shit. It was the Jokers Daughter one shot that I loved.

Villains issues for Harley Quinn and Ivy were good. Jokers one is terrible shit.

Some cursory research suggests the series is not out of continuity which means we would have to assume it is in continuity. I wouldn't be the one to ask how it fits in, timeline wise, though.

Messi loves Joker's Daughter confirmed Forever. No take backs.

Yes it is! And the first two issues will seem tame compared to what he throws at you later.

I like her. But that issue was written by someone who writes generic lady characters and acts like that is sufficient.
