Games you remember, names you don't

SNES game
it was some kind of top down (might be kinda isometric) game where you played as a spy/agent with a gun

i'm fairly sure I rented this game with my mom over 5 times but I was too young to remember much about it but i'm also sure i'd recognize it instantly

EDIT : i'm also pretty sure it wasn't futuristic, it was just a modern spy/agent

Oh, hold on, you're probably thinking of Millennium Soldier: Expendable. Rage Software was the developer. :)

EDIT: Interestingly enough, I remember someone else here mistaking the same developer name (Rage) for the video game title, I think it was Incoming.

EXPENDABLE!!

Oh man! Thank you. xD

That game used to creep me out as a kid for some reason.

Sooo, my memory of this one is very cloudy...
I think it was some sort of Adventure game in a fantasy setting. The thing that I still remember best is that the final boss was a book and I think you had to hit it with something in a pretty short timelimit.

I am also pretty sure it was a PC exclusive game.

I can't for the life of me remember the name of that game and google gives me nothing...
It's probably not The Pagemaster, is it?

When I was young I stayed at a friend and his brother was playing a (I believe) a 2D-Shooter for the Playstation 1. I don't know much about the game, but in the intro there were a naked man and women standing in a room, the dude get's drilled in the arm and his surname was Washington.

Anyone can help me?

It wasn't True Lies was it?

Trying to remember name of this skateboarding game for either Nes or Snes. Cant remember exactly but leaning much more toward the Nes. Anyway, the part I remember is skateboarding in a halfpipe and if you did well, maybe won, A chick would appear in a building, maybe a window? would cheer for you.

Back when I was a kid, I remember playing some beat 'em up on the arcade. It was set in ancient China (like in Dynasty Warriors) and up to 4 people can play.

I vaguely remember an FPS on PC back in the day. It had you jumping between various locations to defeat these time travelling creatures. The one level I remember most distinctly was the Egyptian themed one.

Hexen 2, maybe? That said, that's not explicitly time travel, but continents with the appropriate architecture instead.

Serious Sam's got a whole bunch of Egyptian imagery, as well, but I'm not sure the rest of the game fits. That said, Egypt *is* the first world, so more likely to stick in your mind than Hexen (Where it's the third)

No, that's not it from the few pictures I could find on Google. The one I mean has a much more outlandish fantasy setting.

Edit for the new page:
PC game ca. 2000 with pre-rendered backgrounds and perspective a la Resident Evil. Bloody, dark fantasy setting. European developer, maybe? The box had a rendering of a scantily clad, large-breasted woman on it, I think. If you died, there was a cgi movie with some demons headbanging to metal music.
maybe Dark Earth?

Probably Warriors of Fate, which is also based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Sounds like Chasm: The Rift. Coincidentally, I just played this a few days ago to completion for the first time, interesting game.

Got a couple here that are super vague:

1. A game like Crosscountry USA or Crosscountry Canada, but with a visual look more like Carmen Sandiego, where everything is contained in separate windows. I thought it was an Apple II game, but maybe it was early Mac? I remember at least some degree of color to the graphics and I remember one of the windows being your view from the vehicle, showing a street or an intersection.

2. I want to say this was Apple II for sure, as I would've played it at school around or before 1987. The only thing I can remember is that there was a level/board/area that was Carlsbad Caverns. Can't remember anything else about it, maybe it was a licensed game, but I don't know the genre or anything. [edit - nevermind homies. This was Great Gonzo in WordRider. There appears to be no apple file online, but confirmed it with screenshots. Good times]

I played a hockey game on PS1, which was like a EA street type of game. Hard to describe, but you fight other players, and hit signature shots.

Edit: Nevermind. It was called Rock of the rink, and it was made by EA.

Uh, there was a game on Sega, where you could play as Spider-Man or Venom, it was also two players so you could have Venom and Spider-Man fighting alongside each other.

That's it! 1997, older than I thought, I guess it was ahead of its time. Shame that it doesn't seem to run on modern systems. I don't want to bother with VMware. GOG should pick it up.

It doesn't? Shame. A true masterpiece IMO. Was pretty big here in Europe, but seems to have been mostly ignored in USA

When I was a kid, in 1986/88, I used to play a coin-op Commando clone from Taito. Can't remember too much, just that it was a "powered-up" Commando with better graphics. You started on a beach, with the sea behind your shoulders. Anyone? Thanks.

There was this space ship scrolling game on the NES back in the day that I couldn't stop (re)playing. It was like 20 years ago, so I don't remember much, only few flashbacks. From what I remember, it had mostly darkish color tones and you could pick weapon powerups.

And... even before I post this, I was searching few rom sites and after an hour of scrolling through the pages, I incidentally found it! The game is Gun-Nac - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun-Nac

A ubisoft made rally racing game.

It still used the old ubilogo

I think the default car is a Peugeot.

It was one of the best racers I played when I was a kid.

Some really old game I played on snes/nes/some old console as a kid. (Maybe a sega genesis/saturn?). You were a roller skater and you would fight people on the roller skates I think. I RARELY got to the second level, but I remember it being all purple/blue-y in color while the first level had buildings like it took place in a city. I think there were potholes to fall into.

Rollergames for the NES? It's actually kind of good!

Gotta be DJ Boy on the Sega Genesis / Arcade.

Are you 100% on it being Taito? Heavy Barrel is a Data East game, but has an opening that might fit

So there was this PC game that I vaguely remember playing as a kid. I remember very little in terms of specifics but here's what comes to me.

It was a point and click adventure game with action buttons like open and pick up.

It was mostly blue and black?

It was set in a mansion/spooky house?

One thing I remember specifically was that you open a drawer and a snake kills you.

There was another scene where you open a door to see a girl. I think she stabs you?

I also remember a grave digger or something like that.

Played it in early 90s, DOS game, probably from the 80s.

Think that'll be Last Half of Darkness.

Point and click adventure game for the Mac. Generic fantasy setting. I remember a few panels:

A waterfall with a boulder next to it, behind the boulder was a creature in a cave.

A garden with a centaur

An alley in town in which you can get robbed (right next to a pub I believe)

I would be very impressed if somebody could name this after such vague and probably generic descriptions... But I would love to play again for nostalgia

I remember a DOS game... i think it was DOS.
It was mostly greyscale, I believe it was somewhat like a super simpler Duke Nukem 1.
Without all the bells and whistles, don't think it even had a story. It did have half-circle turrets tho'.

I remember one thing semi-close to where you started, you could fall down a pit, that was multi-screen.
It seemed more than 5-8+ screens you could fall yet you'd still be in the level and keep going on, it was almost metroidvania esque.

Here's my stunning reinactment:

Land Sea Air Squad, maybe ? it's the only Commando / Ikari warriors clone i can think of from Taito. You sure it's a Taito game, right ?

Otherwise sounds like it might be the very sequel to commando, Mercs
That would be a Capcom game though.

Sounds a little bit like Impossible Mission

Can you post a bit more context? Info such as approximate release year and/or year you played it, and whether or not the player character was onscreen or if it was a Myst style FP viewpoint would be useful.

Quest for Glory 1 / Hero's Quest?

That's it! Thanks man, I had a vague memory of the game, but I was sure that it was from Taito 'cause back in the days that's how I called it: Taito was the only english word on the title screen, everything else was in japanese. I used to play in a small arcade in Italy, in a little town near the Alps. Thanks again: now I can sleep again :)

P.S. Thanks FryHole too for trying to help :)

Looking for the title of a game I remember playing in the 90's on a PC at primary school.
Thought it was called something along the lines of rockfall but a quick Google search revealed nothing.

Found this review of an extremely similar game in terms of game-play.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5U0mz8ZPm0#t=200

But Instead of a face, it had a miner as the protagonist. Kind of looked like this...

Any suggestions as to what the name may be?

Cheers.
