I wanted this, lol. Poor Sharla though, I thought she would happen first.
Using the actual Dark Samus model would be kinda confusing when an assist trophy releases Dark Samus.
It also would feel weird. This isn't an actual Dark Samus alt, this is Samus colored to look like Dark Samus. It's not like the Koopalings where you're supposed to be playing as another character. Dark Samus has some very unusual abilities and mannerisms (Like floating around everywhere or maniacal laughter) that really require her to be her own character, or at least a very loose clone.
I'm not too big on traditional fighters (Maybe Pokken can change that), and even if I was, I still need to complete P4G.
I'm stuck on the
Creepy baby that can gather pixels around it to become a retro game hero.
Oh shit, I completely forgot about Destiny. I really enjoyed the beta.

The time is going to be slow the more I think about it.
Plan to get super mario 3D world and maybe Hyrule warriors sometime this month. It'll keep me busy. I also still play Mario kart 8 with the gaf. So that too.
Technically, it wouldn't be Dark Samus herself, just Samus wearing her armour, like in the Hypermode death sequence in Corruption.

That was the first boss in P4G I didn't get stuck on, incidentally enough.
Anyways, games I'm using to pass the time were gonna be Minecraft and Destiny...but there's just no way in hell I'll get enough enjoyment out of them by next Friday to make them worth it, so I think I'm just gonna replay some older games for the time being.
Same. the beta was the best ad the game could ever deliver to me.

I heard an argument that Mario is over-represented in Smash 4 and that the game is becoming "Super Mario and Friends". This is ridiculous.
Looking at the representation of Mario through the series:
Smash 64: 1/6th of the roster (1/4th if you count Yoshi)
Melee: 1/5th (1/4 if you count yoshi)
Brawl: 1/9th ( 1/6th if you count Wario and Yoshi)
Smash 4: 1/7th (1/5th if you count wario and Yoshi)
Mario is proportionately less represented then it used to be

Just a little warning. Twilight Princess is basically OoT 2.0 It's a fantastic game (Although I think it's the worst 3D Zelda), but you might get burnt out if you play it right after OoT.

Mario getting FOUR NEW STAGES, plus a Retro, in the 3DS Version is pretty messed up though compared to everyone else.

Persona fan here. That is such a great boss fight and you should try to keep on trucking. Destiny is a game that could see some play time before Smash launches.
I agree, and I sincerely hope it's not the final stage roster. I have no complaints about Mario having a lot of stages, but it, Zelda, and Pokemon are the only franchises with more than one stage...and even than, it has more than Zelda and Pokemon combined!

Yeah, it sucks that it seems like everyone except Mario either gets a new stage (or stages for Pokemon and Zelda), and misses out on a retro, or gets a retro stage, and misses out on a new stage.
I'm not quite sure what the hyper mode death sequence is supposed to be. It could be Samus' armor transformed into that shape and just coincidentally happened to resemble Dark Samus, but it also could be that Dark Samus possessed corrupted Samus and made her look that way (Like what kinda happened with Rundas in the cutscene before his boss battle) or it could be that the scene is not meant to be taken literally and just represents Dark Samus winning when Samus falls to phazon corruption.
Anyway, it would probably just confuse players, especially with Dark Samus being an actual assist trophy. If we got an alternate costume, I'd rather get the PED or the Light Suit or even just a "classic" version of the Varia Suit.

I think these are the people who count all Mario reps, Yoshi, Wario and DK reps as Mario. I feel as though all actual Mario reps are deserving of their spots.

Yoshi and Wario, I included in my calculations. I don't think DK should be considered though. And definitely not Diddy Kong. Smash DK is Rare's DK, not Mario's DK.

As a believer of the Trophy Quiz theory, I still think we will get a Metroid representative.
It will be a Space Pirate. A regular Space Pirate. And you guys will like it.
Mario is the king and will always be. Also, they're all from different series. When Zelda, Metroid and all your other favorite series diversify the same way, then maybe they'll get the same number of stages.

It's sort of weird Back Slash will hurt Bowser more from the back than the front since, y'know, giant shelled back.
For good sound effects, play Smash 64. The sound of each hit makes you practically feel it.
Well it's a energy sword, it probably ignores things like that.
Golden Plains and Mushroom Kingdom U are from the same series. Ditto for Mario Galaxy and 3D Land (well, if you consider 3D Mario it's own series instead of just throwing all the "main series" platformers under the same umbrella).
