PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

Speaking of PlayStation Mobile, looks like they accidently updated the store page with banners for games that aren't actually out yet. A lot of games. So... next week?

- Jaggy Race!
- Spinning Squares
- Breakout
- Rainboxplosion
- Drop Baby
- Mugogy Jump
- Shooter Speed
- Fruit Space
- DodgeCube

And three other images that don't have titles. One of them looks like another 'Trolly Bird'.

Doesn't look that way in Canada.

You can usually circumvent this problem by playing a blank mp3 file on loop. You can then enter sleep mode manually and the downloads should continue.

If you want your downloads to continue during sleep, do this;
  • let your Vita fall asleep, do not hit the power button to force sleep
  • leave the notifications window up with the download progress bar running
That's how I've always done it, and all my downloads work fine during sleep.
I tried the MP3 trick and it worked, although obviously I went with the easier route of playing *any* track then muting rather than tracking down a blank MP3.

But I'm gonna try the next method next time. It's just that I was under the impression they allowed Sleep-mode downloading if the system is put to sleep manually in a past update. I distinctly remember something about this.

Either way, thanks guys.

I have some kind of weird problem.....

Got a Vita packed with killer games: RL, 1001 Spikes, DC, Fez, Terraria, Pixeljunk stuff, P4G....but all I've played the last month is that damn Farming Simulator game. Why.....

Yes this is not as intended. Normally you should be able to download in sleep-mode.
That's just a known problem that was never fixed. For me it suddenly started to worked recently and I can now download in sleep with no problem. But before that I had the same problem for month.
No idea what's causing the problem and what changed it.

Both of those caught me off guard no doubt, but I think it was the revelation
that Genocide Jill wasn't the murderer at all which eventually led back to Mondo which took me for a loop. He was the last person on my mind to be a killer. Now you have a serial killer living with you in an enclosed school.
Something is bound to happen.

You already finished Chapter 2? Chapter 3 has one of my favorite trials since it has such an awesome Phoenix Wright style ending to that case. Once I reached that point in the game I was hooked and everything was just chugging along as the story never really takes a break.

I can't wait for my white Danganronpa Vita-2000 to arrive. That'll be a dream come true.

Congratulations man, how much it was (after cambial exchange)? If you're not comfortable saying it no problem, I understand. I would get one but I'd have to sacrifice a couple of RL stuff to get it.

On topic, I can't believe I never knew about WO3U. It just popped on my radar, but I'm afraid of performance issues and longevity, compared to HDN and D4.

I was told by Yoshida that pressing power to force sleep disconnects wi-fi, and that it's actually a feature - I don't think they're going to "fix" it any time soon.

Play-Asia was charging U$340 for the bundle, shipping aside.

I believe you need to restore the license if it's your PS4. No idea about the Vita or the PS3, though.
And is that as simple as pressing a button that then syncs all of them to the console, or do I have to do it for every piece of online content I have bought?

The Vita and the PS3 are the ones I am worried about (don't want to go through 4 years of PSN purchases).

Had to take a break from Dangonronpa 2. Was too stressful for me lol. But I decided to play Velocity on a whim. Holy crap, this game is amazing. I can't stop playing it. I had never heard of this game before today, and I love the gameplay.

Just got Virtua Tennis 4 EU used+Drakengaard 3 US new for $45 after trading in some games~
EDIT: FUCK I FORGOT TO GET THE JP VOICES DLC WHEN IT WAS FREE!

Are any of the DLC worth getting?

Such a great game, I don't like tennis at all but it's a joy to play. Make your own tennis player and scan your face in for creepy results. Also the game looks amazing.

I see this opinion a lot andI can only assume it all comes from people that have never played a Virtua Tennis game before. It's quite a big step down from 3.

Somone...decided to play something else before beating Danganronpa 2...? What IS this madness??

I beat Danganronpa in 3 days. Played 10 hours a day, for 3 days in a row. At least for me personally, that wasn't the right way to play that game. I know some people play the game straight front to back. And IMO those people are admirable. But the kind of game that it is, I find it really stressful and negative. It always has me on edge, and it's kind of shitty to know that
everyone you become close with will either be killed, or be a piece of shit scumbag and murder someone else.
I love the games mechanics/gameplay. It's a brilliant game.

But yeah, the story is a bit much for me. At least, playing it in long bursts. After playing the 1st in such a quick timespan, I just needed a break with 2. lol

Does this have anything to do with downloading stuff while in sleep mode?

Im not sure if it does or not but I havent had any issues downloading games in sleep mode. I do just let it go into sleep mode on its own, not pushing the power button and forcing sleep.

This is the most misleading setting ever. It basically means "Turn Wi-fi Power Saving Mode On", so it would negatively affect Wi-fi during sleep.

-Insert Sigh Here-

That tick box has ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY NOTHING to do with whether wifi runs while in sleep mode, and changing it WILL NOT effect how the system handles pausing downloads while asleep.

What it does change however, is the amount of power the wifi chip is alllowed to use AT ALL TIMES. If you uncheck that box, at ALL TIMES (not just in sleep) the PSVita will allow the wifi chip to use more power, and will SPEED UP your downloads and strengthen your internet connection (at the cost of battery life, hence the option to use it in power saving mode which saves battery).

Read it twice people, just to make sure. So many people have the wrong idea about this setting due to the way it's worded.

What you said does not refute what I said at all. With it checked, it negatively affects Wi-Fi during sleep (in addition to operation while awake).

I recently updated added time to my playstation plus but it says I need a "playstation plus subscription to play online"

In the info for a plus game it says I have 454 Days left....

How do I fix this?

Did Minecraft take down the PS Store? I received an error right after purchasing it, over half an hour ago. And now whenever I go into my Downloads section to download it, it tells me there is maintenance.

Bumbling idiots. I wish people would talk about this more, there are so many issues/oversights/problems with how Sony of America is handling their SEN team and store.

It is just so obliquely worded... it could mean anything, really. It took me six months to realize I had it turned on..

Never said it did, I just made it more clear as you weren't specific on the negative effect (which someone could have wrongly inferred was the pausing of downloads).
