Listen, I know shoes are a fashion statement, But you wear them on your feet and you use your feet to walk around in dirt and other shit on the ground to protect your feet. The shoes are going to get dirty, they aren't always going to be clean. Beating some dude up for stepping on your shoes is dumb. Shit like that happens all the time and I don't care if you are in love with shoes, it's dumb. I'm not telling anyone how to spend their money, I'm saying it is fucking stupid to complain/ beat someone's ass over shoe scuffs. The dudes scuffing up shoes are dumb because they are being purposefully antagonistic, but the reaction that some of them had to beat his ass over a scuff on his shoe? If you think that's ok then good for you buddy!
Read the post above me. The condition of the shoes is only one small factor.
Being disrespected shouldn't justify violent retaliation. But that's easier said than done apparently.people saying "just a pair of shoes"
It's not about shoes or anything about that it's much deeper than that, it's about one man respecting another.
He gets it!Why is this so difficult for so many people.
Disrespect does not justify violence.
Being baited does not justify violence.
Someone being a douche does not justify violence.
Ever. Under any circumstance.

I'm glad Ebro called them out. Pieces of shit.
Stepping on anybody's shoes is fucked up. Lets going around smacking the Starbucks coffee out of white people's hands and see what happens.
No one is saying otherwise. It's just so weird people are getting caught up on the reactions and not on the stimulus of those reactions.
Wow.All this victim blaming. Why do I still come in these threads

Wow.
Every. Single. Thing. Is victim blaming.
You got robbed because you left your door open? Victim blaming if called out
You uploaded nude pictures on Facebook and someone shared the link? Victim blaming if called out
You beat someone up over nothing? Victim blaming if called out
This shit is really annoying.
No one is allowed to be sensible or smart. You can do whatever you want and it's never your fault. Such bullshit.
Edit unless if you meant the 'pranksters' are the victims. Then I'm sorry for misunderstanding. Although they're not really victims either.
I don't care much about sneakers but yo if you stomp on my isaia shearling boots on purpose we're gonna have some problems. And if they step on your shoe you beat the fuck out of that man?
Respect. Such bullshit. If you will beat a human for stepping on your shoe you don't deserve my respect.

I think a lot of people don't understand why someone would immediately turn to violence. Why not use wordsmith & wit vs. physical harm?
How does Flatbush not qualify as "the hood"?
Isn't it significantly higher crime rate than all of NYC? Like 50% higher?
(not a defense of the video, see my earlier comments, but I'm pretty sure lots of New Yorkers would call Flatbush the hood.)
Yeah, it's definitely one of the less safe places in NY.

Because not everyone reacts the same way??? Violence is just instinctual for some people. Sure, it's not right, but it's way less fucked up than having your personal space intruded and being disrespected in the most obvious, non-clever way possible.
"One of the less safe places." I'm sure there's several notches worse.I'd suggest you chill in Brownsville or ENY if you think Flatbush isn't safe.
Disrespect is worse than violence? I find that more troubling.
That's a very simplified view of what I said. Blatantly disrespecting someone for the sake of a prank is definitely worse than violence reacting to that stupid, disrespectful prank, yes.

Flatbush isnt as bad as other areas of NY are. It's like Jamaica. There's a lot of middle class residents that live in those areas.
Hot 97 interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9EC3BrXmc4
I was pretty disappointed by the one guy who confirmed to them that it was funny/entertaining. There's not a single thing entertaining about these videos. More importantly tho, the main interviewer was great for bringing up the issues their videos cause and how it's blatant who they are targeting. I was not at all surprised by their reactions, their constant smiling and laughter at being told how much of a shit head they are. Was left disappointed that none of then asked them how the shit they do is considered a prank. I'd love to hear their explanation.
The mention of how one of the victims of the prank's neighbor accused the victim of stealing the phone instead of these shitheads. Makes me really sad to hear that.
I understand that the poverty rate is essentially equal to the average in NYC; but the crime rate is significantly higher than average.
http://www.areavibes.com/new+york-ny/flatbush/crime/
But NYC itself isn't really a high crime city.. Flatbush being 50% higher than the average for NYC still puts it less than half the violent crime rate of Detroit.
Higher than average in NYC? I'd respectfully disagree and I use City Data to back up my assertion:

Best back the fuck off, son!
Yes significantly higher. Did you read the link I posted?
What does the generic NYC city data page prove?
NYC violent crime rate: 343 per 100k
http://www.city-data.com/crime/crime-New-York-New-York.html
Link I posted above shows over 900 for Flatbush.
Here's an article mentioning Flatbush's much higher violent crime rate:
http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york...ens-tally-25-city-shootings-article-1.1081741
One of the 5 precincts mentioned covers East Flatbush.
Again, I think they use "The Hood" just to refer to black people... but I don't think it's accurate to say "They aren't even in the hood." Any area in any city that has such a higher violent crime rate is probably considered "The hood" to a decent amount of people living nearby.
So you're telling me, if you were just going about your day minding your own business and these idiots came up and started stepping on your shoes that you'd be fine.
Prank or no prank, I wouldn't let some little punk kid get away with messing with me just because it's a prank. Also look at their other videos, some of them they go to the point of taking peoples phones from them.
These guys did it for a reaction to put up on youtube so all their little friends could laugh along with them and get the views. They deserved what they get, as they should respect others as they would themselves.
This isn't about race, it's about three kids that are just plain and simple assholes.
Grandpa, grandma said go back to bed.Jordan's?

I think it's an accurate thing to say. Calling it the "Hood" because of the higher average crime rate compared to other neighborhoods makes as much sense as calling it the "Hood" because of the racial makeup of the area. The only reason people label it as such is because they don't know better. These videos perpetuating this shit doesn't help.
