PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

Just started it. This game oozes personality. Got my ass handed to me, though. Want to stick with it, but I can't even get past the first dude taking a piss. Gonna have to look at some videos and dig in with this one. . . .

Demon's Souls could have been it, if SCEA wasn't so arrogant at that time.

They still are....they even passed on Wild Arms.. probably won't be million seller but they keep passing on localizing licensed games also such as Bleach, Miku Hockey AR etc.

I'm surprised they decided to localize three Vita games at this time and age.

I've been doing this for a while, with no problems whatsoever. You have to upload the save to ps+ and then download it, so if you have a digital game, upload that save to ps+, uninstall the game, insert the cartridge, download the save from ps+. If you have the cartridge, upload the save to ps+, uninstall the physical game, download the digital version, download the save from ps+.

I dont know if there are any exceptions though.

I'm using my old PSASBR cart save on the PS+ version, but actually I don't know if it works the other way around

Thanks. I am gonna look for some psn plus games and buy the retail version for collecting purpose.

Are you one of those people who likes to insist LBP doesn't sell well even though LBP1 sold 5 million too? It will sell fine.
What does that have to do with Tearaway's situation?
So just because it's on PS4 it will sell fine? Being on a 80m+ console didn't help Puppeteer or many other games.

can anyone confirm to me whether Doom (PS1 classic) is playable or not on Vita?

i mean, i cant find it on Vita store, but can i buy and download it from PS3, then transfer to Vita?

Biggest tip I can give: don't be afraid to die. In a lot of parts in the game, you just need to rush to the enemy a split second before they can kill you. Also helps that you can throw objects to stun people, so even empty guns have a purpose.

It's not available on anything. GT Williams who developed it went out of business a long time ago. PS3 has Doom 1 and 2 but they're not available on Vita.

On the topic of Puppeteer and Tearaway not selling, that is largely due to Sony's baffling release dates for them.

The former came out during a time when big games were coming (I think it came out September/October last year...), during a time where the big releases just started coming. That plus no advertisement and the hype train behind the PS4 still in motion (making many not be that excited about the PS3) equals the game struggling to sell on PS3 :(.

The latter....was a much more confusing case. It originally was supposed to come out in October. The month had a few big games but not the HUGE ones (CoD and AC for example). It could have done okay in October :)....but it got delayed another month :l. Instead the game launched on a day three big things happened; the PS4 Launch, Mario 3D World coming out and Link Between World coming out. With no advertising to boot either along with the small instal base for the Vita equals.....very little sales sadly :(.

With the PS4 version of Tearaway, it's success depends it launching with little competition and if Sony puts some money on advertising it (it being one of the very few child-friendly games on PS4? That alone should help sell it :)).

I hope it does well; Tearaway is an amazing game, so it deserves to be a hit :').

Why don't you try transferring it to your Vita? I mean, if you still have the 'instal' version of the game on you PS3, you can transfer it to your Vita (if IT is compatible with Vita to begin with).

I don't own it, so I cant really help that much. Sorry :(.

Without knowing if it'd indeed be possible or feasible (since I haven't played it), I always thought Puppeteer seemed like a great fit for the Vita.

Looks like that name is all but dead now, though.

I think it runs on the same engine as Gravity Rush (and in turn, Demons Souls) I think, so it might be possible for a Vita version of it to happen down the line if Sony wants to do that :).

If anything though, expect it to be part of the 'PS3 Classics' line, the line where Sony re-releases its PS3 library on PS4 with 1080p and 60FPS. Granted, there is PS Now, but it would be easy money for Sony if they did something like this (they already did too via Last of Us Remastered).

Can't get the cross buy PS4 version of Dead Nation but I double check I have the liscence for the PS3 version. Bug or it's not cross buy ? /anymore ?

I haven't bought the game yet, thats why I want to know. >:

Anyway, no problem. Thanks

Yeah, it's possible. Wholly unnecessary, but hey, that's last-gen remasters for you. :p

Anyway, I'd be there for a Vita version.

Do you refer to the Doom Classic Collection? If so, that's a native PS3 compilation of the Doom games, so it won't work on Vita. I'd love to have those games on the Vita but it will never happen.

They're... not a PS1 Classic? gee >_> imsorryimsorryimsorry

Wow such deep details

Explain us now also PS3 HSG6. Then GT6. Tokyo Jungle(?). I think rain sold poorly also, never heard anything after, so that too. Vita Pets. Ratchet Vita.

finished DR1 Chapter 2
sigh. I really hate the mini-games and all those aiming and stuff during the Class Trials.

and this game doesn't make you feel good at all
so does a Star next to the character's report mean you mixed the character out?

If you're having trouble with the white noise use the rear touch pad. You literally can't miss with it.

Star means the report card is maxed. I don't know if there's any additional dialog after you max out the report card or anything like in P4G but their report card should now be maxed. Didn't you get a trophy when maxed out the report card?

Okay :).

Don't know much about HSG6, GT6 or Tokyo Jungle but I have a good idea about Vita Pets and Ratchet Collection Vita :).

Vita Pets....was just largely ignored :l. The game had an announcement trailer and some gameplay showed off then....that was it :l. It launched when it did (I think...early July/late June?) and it looks like it solid okay-ish.

Ratchet Collection Vita is another case of a stealth release. It was mentioned on the PS Blog for the Ratchet Movie E3 Blog post (saying a July release, no release date though). Then it came out in EU both retail and digital very early July and it even got a Vita bundle in EU to boot :D. The retail version of the collection has issues (with Ratchet 2 crashing during loading screens) but otherwise it's solid from other impressions I found on Gaf :). It took.....about 3-4 weeks latter to come to US and it was digital only sadly :(. Still, the games run well on Vita and are very playable (beat all three games :D). I have no idea how it's sold but when I last checked (.....I think three weeks ago) it got 300-400 reviews on PSN Store (would check now but it won't load on my Vita for some reason X().

My guesses for GT6 is that it was overshadowed by the PS4 launch and despite the game getting advertisement (or at least getting a lot of press during E3 and the like) the game was largely ignored on release, I think :l. The game isn't perfect by any means (heard the game has frame rate issues, looks worse then GT5 and it having micro-transactions? Don't own it, so I really don't know :(), so that must have played a role in terms of its sales. In the end though, it is GT, so it must have done okay in the end :).

For Hot Shots Golf? I think it was another case of no advertisement. The game was a Vita port to PS3 and it did get a lot of cool stuff (DLC on PS3, I think some kind of cross-play/cross-save?) with that. Again, I have no idea on how that sold, but it was a stealth release and (I think?) digital only to boot, so that must imply that it got okay-ish sales. It got PS+ discounts a month or so back so it must have sold a good deal then :D (it was only five bucks).

Edit: Forgot about Tokyo Jungle and Rain. Both game were part of Sony's pub-fund program (with both having another team work with Studio Japan developers) and were small-scale projects. The former had no PS+ discount or a big release when it launched (no advertisement outside of Gaf find it a cool game). It came out in NA/EU and...that was it :l. I'm sure it got a bigger deal of press in JP for its launch (it even got a retail release there!) though. For the latter, that was part of some kind of Sony pre-order promotion, so it got a little bit of advertising at least :). Again though, the game just....came out and that was it :l. I have no idea on how that sold but considering the team behind it (some Team Ico guys worked on it :D!) it must have sold okay in the end :).

Both games got PS+ sales not that late after release and other sales too (I know Tokyo Jungle was part of a Sony flash sale, got it myself for 1 buck :D!), so they must gotten more sales post-release at least.

It's always interesting to find out about a new Vita game I never knew existed; in this case they're apparently still making those slot machine games, with two on Vita based on anime: Black Lagoon and High School of the Dead. And they're unusually expensive. Anybody try one?

Also, quote this post to find a one-use coupon code for a free 2-topping pan pizza from Dominos code (pick up only), expires today at some point. Free lunch~
edit: It's gone!

Got the pizza code :)

Tokyo jungle is definitely interesting. At one point I decided to let two of my nieces play, 6 and 10...

They have one story mission left, and unlocked almost every vanilla animal aside from the
robot dog
. I was impressed at how good they are at it.

And that's my two cents. Am I had good or bad uncle for letting them play a game of killing and mating?

Those guys are making a tap-dancing rhythm game for Vita. I kind of want to import that just for the absurdity.

I thought it was all Shuhei Yoshida fault? I remember him saying the game was crap.

Yes it was. He said the game was too hard and would bomb in the West. Which to be honest was a logical conclusion. Nobody could have guessed that a game like Demon's Souls could have sold so well and resonate so much among gaming enthusiasts as it did.

Nobody? I fell in love with it at first sight, and imported the Asian version as soon as it came out. It was short sighted to assume it wouldn't appeal to western gamers, they made a huge mistake.

Everything is his fault. He doesn't deserve that position.

Be happy that Bandai Namco saw a future in it.

Yoshida makes a lot of mistake. He can't get games to SCEA/E. He doesn't deserve to be there.

they could've, you know, looked at the response post-release in japan and the importing furor over the hong kong english version
