Youtube Minidoc

Interesting unbiased documentary, does a great job showing both sides, the women who enjoy it, the women who don't, the good it does for German society and people who do want to become prostitutes, and the bad it does in allowing human traffickers an easier way to sell trafficked prostitutes.

We need this in England, going shopping would finally be fun.

It's a buyers market, competition has driven down the wages. Unlimited amount of sex for 99 euros is a bit like having as much pizza as you want for a fixed price.

It is manufactured for men who don't want to go through the trouble of socializing as young whores are available everywhere. Then you have the girls from Eastern Europe, the shady market, where you can purchase very young girls for a lower price if you don't mind the possible human trafficking aspect. Given the lack of economic prospects for a lot of young people, especially those from less well-off member states, it is perhaps one of the best options to put food on the table as no intellectual capital is required. And the demand is endless as there are a lot of horny men looking to satisfy their desires.

I have relatives who take full advantage of the situation.

When I read the thread title I assumed it was a huge WallMart/Tesco esque shop filled with porno mags and low quality dildos.

I'll watch the doc later on. Thanks for the link OP.

That is... Extremely sad.

What kind of sense is that supposed to make?

I think what he's trying to say, is that government wants to lower the demand, so that eventually supply will be lowered too. But he doesn't want government to punish the sex workers, because there's high probability that they might be victims of human trafficking at the first place.

I see, I guess that makes some sense. Though then there's the forbidden fruit thing and all, don't see that making the whole thing safer for the prostitutes.

Pretty much.

Why not just enforce a sin tax? Government already do this with cigarettes and booze to make up for loss of tax revenues, especially in the US.

Same. I saw something like that once on HBO's Real Sex. They(Supermarkets full of porn and sex toys) do exist in Europe.

Lawdhammercy, there's a €99 all-you-can-fuck buffet in Berlin?

I've never been into prostitution but this may require an attitude adjustment.

I don't know bro. If the prostitution market is anything like the food industry, all you can eat might not be the way to go.

I think I'd get into this type of scenario

Does this look like a man that has fucked all he can fuck?

so you will have the time of your life and will regret it the next day/smae evening?
i hate to use this but YOLO. (i feel bad for using it but 99€sexflat made me do it)

btw, i am german and never heard of it.

then you'll get into a situation where it is in New York -- people selling non-taxed cigarettes and the government going to great lengths to stop it because they have a vested interest when they are actively losing money. in the case of cigs, which are actually bad for you, there would never be a reason to get to a point where you outright ban their use because there is so much money being made

I'm German. Never heard of these "Paradise" brothels.
NRW has multiple of those. Pauschalclub has some on in Münster, Bochum and Dortmund each. I think the next one is a hour away.

Those whores just want to be done with you and get some token/coin for having done work if I read right.

hahah imagine going to the unemployment office and being told that you'd be perfect for a job at the sex mart. That would be awesome.

Afaik, they don't actually reduce the consumption of said items (or in this case, service), it just makes for extra cash.

It's not about the money(or I'd like to think it wouldn't be), it's about dissuading people into actively using said service/good and making it somewhat prohibitive to spend money on things that are against usual religious grounds.

You want a good example of religion superseding government, the sin taxes are a great example of them.

I don't feel at all good about a dirt cheap all you can have buffet for sex though. It sounds disgustingly abusive and cheap. But I also romanticize sexual contact as something that should be above a commodity and if sold, should never be sold cheaply.

there is one where i live you get in pay and after that 10 or so girls come into your room and you choose one. they start showering in front of you and then you start i guess

just fyi i never went there a friend from university told me how it is.

Right....

Hmm, that raises an interesting ethical question. I know in the UK they can stop or curtail your benefits if you refuse a job you are qualified for, I wonder if this could be applied to sex worker if it is a legal occupation.

Is prostitution really a 'social need', like they say in the video?
I'd argue that it is. There are a lot of people, such as handicapped people or people are who have certain diseases (not talking about STDs obviously) or are just really, really ugly, for whom it's impossible or at least extremely hard to have sex.

As a general social need for men just for the sake of it, however, I wouldn't say it is.

Just look at #GamerGate to see what happens when guys spend too long without getting any.
As misogynistic and generally hateful as they are, I wish we could still keep insults away from it. In case you didn't mean it as an insult but just suggesting that they're just angry teens who can't get laid, I disagree. A large part of them are for sure, but I'd throw a wild guess that there are a lot of men who just view women as objects but who can get laid fairly easily (I know some such people myself). Probably there are also some married men.
Someone had an example about frat houses and the stuff that is going on in them.
Off topic anyway sorry.

The guy at 1:20 who says "Sex has always been a social need... We need to deal with it and make it manageable"; I agree with this. I think making it legal is the best thing to protect everyone, from clients to particularly the workers themselves.

I believe countries in which prostitution is legal have very low rape figures, so there are other benefits too.

Funny how you can get all you can bang for one price but soda refills aren't free.

Nothing quite like the site owner reinforcing negative stereotypes on the gaming community.

Sounds kinda like forced prostitution to me, if this would be applied of sex work.
