I should hope so; it would be a let down to get the game and find out the controls wouldn't work.

Nintendo Rep at the play demo told me you can map certain buttons like on the wii with brawl. Thank god, since i hated shield and grab being on the wrong bumper. Fucking grab on the left screwed me up so many times.

Cool! I remember playing the demo on Comicon and I kept confusing Up+Smash with jump or something like that and I kept dying in my smash run because of that.
I was also probably dying cause I was playing Zelda. I never learn

Its because Rosalina is built up as a character that is pretty OP to the point where she literally retconned the actual game mario galaxy because bowser fucked everything up, she can only be used mostly for references and cameos now or as for fun extra characters

Ironically, the items were off. I wanted to turn the Smash Ball on so I could check out some of the new Final Smashes, but the attendant quickly stepped in to prevent me from making any changes.

I think a lot of people have some hindsight bias when it comes to Villager.
During the lead up to Smash 4 I would mention an AC character as my most wanted, and people would dismiss it with "Sakurai said no lol." It was not a common belief that AC would get a character.
That's why when Villager was the first revealed I was so happy

Nintendo games simply have the best soundtracks, there's no debate!
Just in the past 5 years we've had Xenoblade, KI Uprising, Galaxy 2, Tropical Freeze, 3D World, Pokemon B/W/B2/W2/X/Y, Fire Emblem Awakening, Kirby Triple Deluxe, MK8.... the list goes on and on!
I'm still praying for language options

1. Megaman- He was an absolute no brainer to me. I just knew Sakurai would some how seduce Capcom and get him in. Played all his games through the Gamecube collections. Couldn't believe how awful X-4 and up were.
2. Pacman- Even before Namco I thought he had a good shot. Once it was announced Namco was involved he was an absolute shoe in to me. Loved the old pac man games and multiplayer Mrs Pac Man games on Genesis. Pac Man VS was great too!
3. Wii Fit Trainer- I never even considered her a character for some reason. I mean the thought never ever crossed my mind. Played a little Wii Fit.
4. Villager- I used to always preach from the Book of Sakurai. I know now even he is powerful enough to undo words he once set in stone. I did not see Villager coming at all, I wrote him off since Brawl. I didn't even know his name was Villager. I didn't even know he had a name. I just called him Animal Crosser. Never played a single animal crossing despite owning it for Gamecube. I'm afraid to get sucked in.
5. Rosalina- I didn't think she had a chance. To me it was either Toad or Bowser Jr. It never occurred to me she could have a whole move set based around the unique gimmicks and gameplay elements of Galaxy. I just assumed if anything Mario would get some new Galaxy move and Rosalina would be some Peach clone if she ever made it in. I did not like the character very much until she was announced for Smash.
6. Little Mac- There was no way he wasn't going to be in the game. This I just knew.
7. Greninja- Didn't see him coming. I was looking for an XandY mascot and no one jumped out at me except Mega Lucario and Mega Mewtwo. Very surprised and happy with his inclusion!
8. Palutena- After Uprising there was no way she would be left out. She was just too prominent in a major title from Sakurai. I'm stuck on the original game's last boss, never played the gameboy one and beat Uprising.
9. Mii- I had a feeling they would make it in one way or another. I used to hate them until the Wii U.
10. Lucina- I didn't think she had a shot at all. I was all ready for Chrom. Loved her in Awakening.
11. Robin- See Lucina.
12. Shulk- I always thought that he could be in. It felt like Xenoblade made a big impact with Nintendo fans as well as RPG fans in general. As one of the few new character driven IP's that emerged during the Wii years I felt that would also catch Sakurai's eye.
13. Bowser Jr.- I figured he would get in but a part of me loathed the idea of a shadow Mario transformation. After Rosalina was revealed I figured that was it for him though.
14. Duck Hunt Dog- Him along with Sukapon and Takamaru struck me as the likely retro revivals. Though I thought Takamaru was a lock for it.
15. Dark Pit- The moment I saw him in Uprising I just knew this day would come. I'm not mad but I certainly aint happy.
