- Isabelle on Villager (too bad she's a trophy)

A few of these deserve to be full characters(clone or whatever) but a lot of them will never ever be worth their own roster slot. Alt costumes that change voiceover lines are a great way to fit in basically minimum effort bonus characters.

Copy Megaman is one I haven't seen anyone else suggest, but he was given a unique design in Powered Up with the triangle on his forehead and the purple scarf, combine that with his constant wicked grin and he'd be a really fun alt.

All those sounds awesome, but I'd kill for a Raichu alt in particular.
 
One thing I'm confused about is how team colors will work for a character like Bowser Jr. Will blue team be forced to play as Ludwig? (Not that that's a bad thing, mind you)

If I remember correctly I believe teams just adds a colored outline so that you can still pick your characters alts.

There are no "team colours" any more. There's outlines so you can play any character.

Edit: Beaten like a finger with a weta.
 
Smash GAF, I've recently joined a Melee semi-pro group at my uni and I suck. Help me learn all the terminology and moves and stuff so I can look cool in front of them.
 
MENU TIME! Which one will it be? I'm thinking inside the Smash menu. Or maybe something with Mii.

Either way, my expectations can't go any lower.

I secretly hope its, "You must recover."
 
The thing with alts being different characters is that they're aren't many that actually work well (heights, personality, animations).

Maybe, if the character had remained, we could have seen different versions of the Pokemon Trainer (like Gold). Ninten might work. Alternate versions of Zelda/Link possibly, too. I can't really think of anyone else.

No, but with this recent reveal of full character alts, I imagine that was one of the main reason it was implemented and that it'll be carried over to the Wii U.

Like others said, a Ninten alt would be fairly simple. Maybe even a Pichu alt, but that might be a bit of a stretch compared to how they played in Melee. Mr L certainly is possible, it's the same character, no need for any changes in abilities. Even Falcon as Blood Falcon could work.

I don't mind that Bowser Jr isn't getting alt colors, though if he did he could always use the Koopa Kid colors form the Mario Party games.

But let's be real, there's only one alt that we need:

Mention how much better Project M is and how badly you miss Mewtwo. That should cover bout 80% of your interactions.

...What do you mean he needs to actually play? That's crazy!

I still want to see what the koopa kids look like since they are all really different bodywise. I always thought the original leak about that was crazy considering that.
 
I feel like I'm the only one not digging the new smash music.Only thing I liked was the nintendog one, and that's because I found it funny.

Mariolee: 1 VS. 1 ME!! FINAL DESTINATION, NO ITEMS, FOX ONLY!!!

I miss Roy. I hope he's a Marth/Ike alt. I hope Ganon has an alt that resembles his WW incarnation, but I know it'll never happen.

Link finally got Fierce Deity, that's good.

I suppose if I can't have Krystal as her own slot, having her as an alt would be nice.

We've seen Samus's alts, and I'm pleased with them for the most part. Blue should be the phazon-colored Corrupted PED with purple hexagon shoulders instead of Gravity, but whatever.

some of these have like no chance of happening.. but "you'd like to see happen" so;

Anna -> Lucina
Tharja -> Robin
Impa -> Sheik
Hilda -> Zelda
