Great these next two hours are going to be so long now in work. Check with the royal mail online and it says it has been delivered.

A few questions from people who've played the Beta:

Does retail code offer any visual / AA enhancements over the Beta?

Users are reporting the game is harder- has that balance made it more fun?

Has anyone done any thorough X1/PS4 comparisons yet?

VERY IMPORTANT TECHNICAL QUESTION:

I have starters playing the disc version and I have just received a gift-cod for the digital version.

So, am I safe to delete the "Destiny Applicaton File" - because the Destiny game file have 21GB on my PS4, already installed from the disc version.

I would love to delete the disc install first and than to install the PSN version.

Will it also delete my profile and Guardians or are they "safe" on the server side?

Thank you!

You know what is a moot point? Arguing over something like this^^ But with MCC on the horizon, Xbox being a COD centric community, and PS4 much larger install base, the chances of you finding a lot of folks to play with come November is much high on PS4. That is all I am saying^^

I was never trying to argue with you. I do agree with your comment around the XBO community thinking back on it. This game will get swallowed whole by MCC on the XBO. This is PS4s shooter for now, for better or for worse.

Everything about this game feels like they got way too ambitious and had to kneecap everything that would make it fun. My experience with the story has shown me no incentive to possibly try a different character. Its not like in Halo where you can do a run through at a different level and the AI skill level increases so much it plays like a new game. Instead it just increases their HP, and tells you to defend a spot.

On the PVP side, it feels like an incredibly watered down version of Halo with limited optionality.

Woke up stupid early and couldn't go back to sleep, so I got a little game time in, just the first mission. Now I have to get my wife up and get her off to work, then I'll have time to really dig in.

Really liking it so far, although I've just done the same stuff from the beta. Also: Sony Gold Headset is glorious.

How did you get all your emblems?

I only got 1 beta emblem... how do I get the ones from bungie codes in game? I have them all redeemed.

I quit the game and turned it back on. Went to the tower and talked to tess who is in the same booth as the postmaster. All my emblems were right there.

Praise the Traveller my LE has arrived

However, I am confused as what the Vanguard Armoury is and Digital Content.

Plus can I enter the codes for the DLC pack now and just let them auto download when they are released?

Glad to be able to finally jump in, without further adieu

I haven't been following any of the Destiny threads here on GAF, but my copy has shipped, so it should be arriving today. I'm kind of sick, so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to put into it, but I'm looking forward to it. I purposefully avoided playing much of the Alpha and Betas, so a lot of the game will be fresh and new to me. I enjoyed the setting and controls quite a bit, and the MP was fun as well, despite me not really being an MP player at all.

I don't have much time to play stuff online, but my PSN is Figboy if anyone wants to add me (just make sure to shout out "GAF" in the invite; i tend to ignore blank friend invites), but I admit we probably won't be able to play together much, if at all.

So... How can one contact bungie? I opened my ghost edition last night and my dinklebot is broke.

The first switch that just turns on the lights does not work but the second one where you get light and sound does. Box was not damaged /w shipping and nothing else is damaged.

I'd like to read impressions about the single player campaign.
Are the missions all totally linear and very simple like in the beta? Does the story pick up?
Is there one single big map for each planet?

Contact your retailer first.

Still waiting for the game to arrive to me where I live. My impressions of the game from what I read, saw and played of the Beta is that this is a game for people who love to level up, gather loot with friends and grind.

I don't think it's for the people who want a meaty single player that delves deep into the lore/mythos with awesome set pieces and such which is pretty disappointing but eh, It's not like there is anything else in September so it pretty much will sell amazingly well.

Neither Split-screen Coop on PS4/X1, nor System Link support on Xbox 360. Too bad. :(

I rather play with my friends in the same room. Borderlands 2 was so much fun with everybody playing on his own TV.

So first you suggest he should buy on Xbox, now that he should not buy it? Look, I respect Dax way too much to be having these petty kinds of squabbles here. You do not like the game? Fine. Then let the people who do give shopping advise to those who asked for it. Good day, sir.

Yes save for the physical stuff like Ghost Replica, postcards, and the star chart map.

So the only difference is the ghost replica and relics? Okay cool. Going to try snag a limited edition today from my local Best Buy. Picking up my ghost edition, but selling it.

1) Yes, it's AA in particular I noticed improved as far as IQ goes.
2) It's much more challenging without mobs being as tanky as they were during alpha. Is it fun? Yes, it makes preparation worthwhile.
3) I haven't seen any cross-platform comparisons yet.

Quick question:

Are there any options for adjusting the audio mix.

My biggest problem with the beta was that the music, fx and/or dinklage would sometimes drown out the chat audio.
Since I have "all audio" output to my headphones, there was no way to create the right balance.

Not having audio sliders seemed really wierd, so I'm hoping it was just a beta thing.

This game man, I even made a thread question in it.

It's really good, liking it so far. Got to level 6 but I'll get some more game time tonight. I guess during the beta period, I didn't really focus much on it, didn't even get to play PvP on it because I didn't level up at all, but today I did.

In becomes addicting trying to buy weapons just so you can use them in PvP. Good fun package all around on there.

It can get tough doing the missions solo too but it's satisfying once you get through them.

Let's see how long this "Honeymoon" phase with the game lasts. So far, not disappointed.

is he glowing a color? against some enemies you get dmg bonus by using weapons with the matching dmg type. datto does destiny has a video explaining it better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTLosBMLt3Q&list=UUkmAjbIecTIjTQctolYeuDw

that, or you arent supposed to fight him yet and need to go up in level

It's a level 7 story mission on the moon and I'm level 8. It should at least take his shield down a bit but nothing is happening apart from low numbers like 10-20 popping off him but his bar is not going down.

I'm so afraid I will be on one of my conference calls for work today and say something destiny related when asked a question.

Going to be a long day.

What's the opinion on content in this game then? If it's just a 12 to 16 hour game then this is defiantly going to be a vessel for nickel an dime DLC packs. I thought this was meant to be a years spanning experience? Yet it only has 6 Strikes and 1 Raid?

Leveling is much slower in the retail version, no burning up the levels in story mode. Just spent an awesome hour with another GAFer in exploration mode doing version missions to build up enough experience to level up and open up another round of equipment. The brake having been applied relative to the beta in terms of level up speed and toughness relative to mobs certainly encourages me to stop and smell the roses, take in the sights and be much more mindful of tactics when taking on mobs. Going in guns blazing as per valid practice in the beta got me killed a couple of times when I started playing the retail version today.

Not seeing any noticeable changes graphics wise on PS4 relative to alpha/beta, still moments when the art design and weather effects impress.

How do we transfer items between characters? My hunter has three red ghost casings, but I see no way to transfer one to my titan and warlock.
