Ello comic GAF. Doing a solid for a lady and fellow Leeds resident, Rachel Connor. She's written the Regular Show Original Graphic Novel thats out tomorrow, but apparently its like... not even able to come out in the UK due to some raw licensing bullshit. Theres a 10 page preview on CBR: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=23476

Thought I'd jam it in here as I'm sure there are some RS fans aboot, and also it looks like its right up GAF's alley really:

Fug Destiny man, that theres a fusion of Ice Climbers and Snow Bros with creepy ass burly snowmen.

Going on holiday on Friday, decided to put off reading my comics until then (I buy digital). Going to be tough not giving into temptation, especially with a new Hawkeye.

When did he announce he was done with Marvel? Going Image only?

He's blowing up with creator owned works like Brubaker did a few years ago when his run on Cap ended. I dunno if he announced anything or not he's just not doing any more work for Marvel going forward (Soule is writing the new Inhumans ongoing). Sex Criminals has been pretty huge for him so far I think so it's probably time for him to move on to new things where he's gonna have more control.

Sex Crims, Casanova coming back in Jan., Ody-C finally coming out. Fraction is doing some of his best work right now

Yeah, thats what I heard.

Sad day, I always wanted him for Amazing Spider-Man :(

Final issue is 30 pages as well. Will be nice to have Aja drawing the finale after skipping out on the otherwise awesome Iron Fist run.

Haven't read #19 yet and won't read the last three issues monthly either. Just gonna wait until all the issues are out. I imagine it'll read very well together

There is an Omnibus coming in April. It's been such a long wait for the paperback vol 3 I'm tempted to just wait it out and get the Omni because I know I'm gonna want it.

hah. did it get bad? im only going by trades so ive only read, like, 10 issues or something.

Absolutely not. It's still damn good, but the delays obviously demolished any momentum the series had. But really, if you're catching up, or you're waiting to read it all in a few sittings, this series is going to be incredible for ya.

Just got done reading Grendel vs. The Shadow. Book One.
I enjoyed that nice art,, really cool 1930's old school gangster mob story. First I've read of The Shadow

I honestly didn't realize the movie The Shadow is from the comic book.
I loved that movie back then. I haven't seen it in a long ass time so don't judge me if that movie is a total shit show. lol

Makes me want to check out The Shadow comic now,, Is it any good??

Honestly, it feels like Fraction did everything at Marvel he wanted. From the flagship books Uncanny X-Men , Thor, the fantastic four, to the smaller books he revitalized like Punisher, Iron Fist, and Hawkeye. Did a 60 issue Iron Man story, an event, goofy asides, helped get his wife involved...all kinds of shit. Mission accomplished

Particurly with Hawkeye he's doing so much experimental sequential superhero storytelling with Aja and Wu and Hollingsworth, it might as well be his final statement on Marvel Comics

Yeah, I'm only bummed because he's been such a huge part of modern Marvel and, aside from a couple of iffy event books, he's done some really great work there. I'd love to see him do for Spidey or someone what he did for FF and Hawkeye.

But, he had an iconic tenure with Marvel and now he's making amazing original content. So it's sad but everyone wins.

i never thought i'd say it, but i'll miss fraction at marvel. i remember reading his uncanny x-men run and being furious every month, but immortal iron fist and hawkeye are two of my favourite marvel series.

The Shadow is actually from the pulps, though there have been a few comic versions including one (or more?) right now at Dynamite. I think the only one I've tried is the Chaykin one tho, and I don't care much for that. Need to get on the one Bill Sienkiewicz and Kyle Baker drew one day.

The inkstuds interview with him is interesting because he talks about how he was certain Hawkeye issue 6 (or whenever it was going to be cancelled) was gonna be his last superhero comic ever.

Fraction had a lot straight up failures at Marvel (and he seems to know what they are), but few really great comics too.

So the Xs were shadows after all.

Stunning work as usual.

I really wanted this one page from Multiversity by Chris Sprouse because of one panel but decided against it because the other panels were riddled with lots of X's. Would have looked great inked.

Never did an extended spider man run, but he did do my all time favorite Spidey story "to Have and to Hold" so theres that.
Yeah, that's one of the best Spidey stories ever. Immediately followed by One More Day crap. I gave up on Spider-Man around then. Fraction writing would get me properly interested again, but it seems like that's unlikely.

I'm not really reading enough current comics to give an opinion, but who other than Fraction would be a good choice to follow Slott?

All this Fraction talk reminded me I need to pick up the Casanova trades from the library tonight. Let's see how it does on a second read through.

I know he's unpopular among X-fans, but I really think Yost would do a good job on Spider-Man. He did an incredible job at transforming Kaine into a lovable character and giving him a great cast of supporting characters. Aracely, one of his own creations, is easily one of the best characters to come out of Marvel in recent history and I have full faith in him for something like ASM.

I haven't read the Fraction story that JC loves (will get to it one day), but he just seems like such a natural fit for the character from his writing. It's a shame that he's probably done with Marvel after Hawkeye is over, but it is what it is.

How was Jeff Lemire's run on Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E.?
One of my favorite New52 comics when it was coming out. Great monsters fighting bigger monsters stories with emotional kicks to the chest thrown in to fully round out the characters and stories. Check it out, man. Highly recommended.

Also, if you like Matt Kindt, he and Lemire were doing writing from the beginning and eventually Kindt takes over full-time, and his later issues are my favorite.

Great. Probably my fav new 52 comic (when the art was consistent)

Thanks, I'll check it out.
