Anyone playing on PS3? I literally have no friends who plan on playing Destiny for ps3 and no one in the tower ever joins my fireteam :(.

Someone add me! My psn is blue_phazon1337. Currently level 4

How do you get to the vanguard armory?

glimmer and higher level gear will break down into items, which are needed to purchase future gear.

Yeah I can jump to the moon at lv. 4 lol. It was basically immediately available. Which is odd considering Earth story feeds into the moon story so if you just jumped right to it ... wouldn't make too much sense.
Ah ok. Thanks.

Minor complaint but it's pretty lame that emblems take up inventory space, if those Bungie legacy emblems ever unlock I think I'd only have space to purchase one more, lol.

So I'm coming up to the end of the Moon so here are some complaints so far.

LOADING, oh god the loading! Loading leaving a mission, loading going to town to identify a weapon, loading going back, loading going into next mission and it takes a while!
I think some of the stuff in the Tower would have been better as an option in a menu. I mean, I know it's there for social stuff but you can't communicate so all you can do is play football or /dance.

Story seems a bit lacking. Like, there isn't much there. We get some lore from Dinklebot and that's cool, but like, I'm doing this because Dinklebot found/revived me somehow (I'm a robot so at least in my case I can feel ok about it) and because I'm a guardian and we have to do this. I mean, the game is fun and there seems to be cool lore here but is this a case where the story and all the important plot info is in the database? Is this FFXIII again?

Not run into a public event yet but then I've not really tried to (like hanging out in a single area on a planet long enough). Not a problem just saw some other people mention it and thought I would too.

Warlocks have maybe the worst vanity/class wear item.

Positives:
It's fucking fun.

I'm a space magician robot

Guns are cool, abilities are pretty cool so far.

PVP is fun.
Pretty much my thoughts.

Anyone run across public events yet? When do they happen?

I just had one pop up, but I was unfortunately all by myself. It was to take out a Fallen Walker. Just as it started though I got a server disconnect.

And I'm going to have a hard time using anything other than a handcannon.

The true micky D's is bungie itself.

I like how it told me to look up lion on their website, and lion is basically a page that says "man, we're not sure wtf that is, lol"

I got centipede and it was like "uh check your connection my nigga its whatever to us we already got your money breh"

Wait, hand cannons are actually worth using now?

always makes me laugh seeing stuff like this as I used HC almost exclusively during Beta.

They were always powerful, you just had to make the shots count and had slower reloads. But in Beta found a HC where if the final shot killed someone, was basically an instant reload.

damn, just identified a hand cannon I can use next level that is 3 times more powerful than my current one. Only 4 shots instead of 6 but... i can make them count.

this one definitely has that "well, I need to get to the next level so I can equip this" factor.

This got me worried......is it realy that bad

Where are the reviews damn it

A good deal of us are just posting previews/impressions/or short reviews of what we have seen. If you like it after a couple hours you will probably like it and if you don't after a couple well you probably won't:)

What happens after a disconnect like that. When you're back in the game where do you end up starting? Are the checkpoints decent? Or does it put you back in orbit?

You do start back in orbit but you can select the mission and there is a "resume" option. Checkpoints seem to be between most major encounters once you're in the instanced part of the level.

Only got to play for an hour last night. Working a half day. Time is creeping by. Absolute TORTURE.

Looking for other lowbies to play with later. Goal is level 15 by the time I pass out tonight. Stupid job.

Went to my local Best Buy. I've picked up my ghost version and shipped to buyer. Asked about LE version and they had no extras. So got regular and expansion pass. Almost same price as LE with GCU. Excited to get on tonight. I am impressed how well PSN, Live, and Bungie servers have withheld. Here's to hoping all goes well when I get home.

It just happened to me. It puts you back in orbit.

Update: It then puts you at the start of the "no respawn" zone so it actually isn't too bad.

So that room under Old Russia that had the ??? dudes in the beta...was there any point to it? I made my way back there for revenge (I totally forgot about the place) and there wasn't anything in there, just a few dudes lol

I went there this morning to check and those super high level enemies were there. I peeked around the corner, peed my space pants, and ran away just as they shot at me.

Good thing they don't really follow you!

Must be your area. My brother is downloading his and it has taken 10mins to get to 80%.

I'm in the UK. It's peak time over here. Same shit PSN, different game.

Edit: now 4 hours. We're going backwards! I guess I'm not playing today then. What a joke.

I was planning to buy a PS4 just to play Destiny, but after all these impressions, saying that the story is terrible and the single player content is lacking, made me rethink my purchase.

Since there are more people playing the game right now, how is it? I'm open to co-op, but is true that if I try to play it solo I'd be really disappointed? And is it true that there is no story giving context to the missions?

There is a lot of loading but you can fiddle with your inventory and stuff so it's really not that bad.

Oh, me and my buddy are having a blast. We played 7AM to noon and plan to go right back at it after lunch.

Hell yeah!

Checkpoints are decent. I had a disconnect on the second(I think?) story mission where you go to get a warp drive so you can get to other planets and had done the first two parts when it disconnected. When I jumped back in it put me right in the dark zone on the third and final part of that so actually saved me some travel distance.

Part of the bummer for me now is when doing some free roam missions and almost getting to the end of those and having a disconnect. You keep any experience you might have earned, but lost the rest of the mission. It isn't a big deal as they are so quick to do though. I had a disconnect on a public event as well, that one was a bummer, but I was by myself and probably wouldn't have been able to complete it anyway.
