Those Cooke covers are all fantastic. I love the Catwoman one.

I still have to catch up on Empowered. I was in the middle of volume 3 I think. Maybe that will be my next project after Animal Man...

How many romantic comedies do you own, Messi?

Congrats!! Where did you manage to find volume 1?

I found it in a local ccomic store for €50 which is a bit pricy but it is hard to find. A friend delivered it to me today. It's beautiful.

Over 100 not including Olivia movies.

New iPhone announced (shocking), but no new iPad news so far. Think this is my cue to finally get that iPad Air today, continue with my digital reading!

It's one of the less expensive ($43.50 on IST) Absolute editions, too.
Well, I guess this is gonna be one of the next books I order! I don't have any Absolute editions yet, so that's a good price for me.
you play destiny tho?
it's just that good
I played the alpha and beta and liked it but not that much lol. I liked it a lot more than Borderlands at least.

But I can't blame you. I'll probably go into hiding once Bayonetta 2 comes out.

Don't forget Unworthy Thor!

Old-Ass Steve Rogers ongoing, as he coaches the new Captain America from the sidelines

"Be right back Sam, I got to go the damn bathroom again..."
"Aight Steve, just make sure to turn the headset off this time, old man. *beat* Steve!?"
"ARRRRRRRRGH holy Lady of Liberty why is this so hard!? Sharon, Ian, I need back-up!"
"GODDAMNIT STEVE! *throws headset*"
*hydra goon runs in* "HAIL HY-OOF! *hit by headset*"

that would make for some good reading. especially if he becomes a grumpy ass old man out of nowhere reminiscing about the war and best generation and shit

Ello comic GAF. Doing a solid for a lady and fellow Leeds resident, Rachel Connor. She's written the Regular Show Original Graphic Novel thats out tomorrow, but apparently its like... not even able to come out in the UK due to some raw licensing bullshit. Theres a 10 page preview on CBR: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=23476

Thought I'd jam it in here as I'm sure there are some RS fans aboot, and also it looks like its right up GAF's alley really:

Fug Destiny man, that theres a fusion of Ice Climbers and Snow Bros with creepy ass burly snowmen.

looks dope as

I shall get it then

It really is gorgeous. I don't own any of Dark Horse's Library Editions, but the Absolute editions are definitely the nicest-looking comics I've seen.

They definitely vary in quality. Like, the original Absolute Sandmans are shit. Same with Batman Long Halloween.

But books like Absolute All-Star Superman are some of the finest books created.

"We Can Fix It" by Jess Fink is a great piece. Takes a lot of talent to make such a fun piece out of an intimate, messed up life experiences.

The Complete Essex County

Thanks, I'll take a look at these.

Blankets, if you haven't read it, is one of my favorite graphic novels. Art is absolutely beautiful, and the story is an excellent coming-of-age/first love story. It's a beautiful story, through and through.

Everything Jeff Lemire (The Underwater Welder, Essex County, Lost Dogs), March: Book One, Blankets, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Nemo books if you're into that series, etc.

I might have to jump on those other Matt Kindt books. I love Mind MGMT, but haven't read his older stuff yet.

I've read Blankets. While I did like the art a lot, I didn't enjoy the book very much.

They definitely vary in quality. Like, the original Absolute Sandmans are shit. Same with Batman Long Halloween.

That's surprising. What do you dislike about the Absolute Sandmans?

I didn't know that about the original Absolute Sandmans. In fairness, two of my copies have issues with the binding, but I thought that was because I was playing shipping roulette with Amazon. The other two (that I got from Amazon) were in very good shape.

Oh, yeah, it's totally a binding issue. The original printings for a few years were just these awful glued bindings that looked like a kindergartner got access to a hot glue gun and some cocaine. And really, if I'm too scared to read through and show off my book because it may completely unravel and explode, what's the point of paying for the most fancy ass edition? Also, the pagekeeper has left permanent indentations in pages towards the middle of books due to the weight of the pages.

But if you're just leaving them on the shelf, then yeah, these Absolutes are gorgeous.
