Oh my goodness. There are some incredible deals there. Essex County!? YES. So excited to see that on such a good sale!
There's some interesting stuff there, but nobody ever talks about Top Shelf. I thought they only had kid's stuff. The few titles that I have heard of I didn't even realize they were Top Shelf. For a buck or three you really can't go wrong taking a chance on something different.

If you want to try something from Top Shelf, Monster on the Hill and Swallow Me Whole are good. The Homeland Directive was worth the read, but fell flat near then end. I keep meaning to try out The Bojeffries Saga and Liar's Kiss... But I'm a terrible procrastinator.

Wait why are people suddenly talking about Brian Wood as if he was Jeff Loeb? I remember people gushing over the first few issues of X-men.

Kipp has been given the premise. Starting now, from this moment forward...starting at this moment...beginning now....this will be the genesis of something great.

So everyone knows to buy all atomic robot comics that are on Sale on comixology right?

https://www.comixology.com/Atomic-Robo-Sale/page/3409/?tid=B140909001_Red_5_Atomic_Robo_Sale&utm_source=brick&utm_medium=sale&utm_content=B140909001_Red_5_Atomic_Robo_Sale&utm_content=Red_5

For those unsure the first issue of volume 1 is available for free. The series is a ton of fun. In a way it reminds me of a light hearted hellboy series. Different volumes move from modern times, ww2, lovecraft themed eras, etc.

This is one of those times I really wish I could enjoy digital comics. I've been wanting to read Atomic Robo for a while now, but the trades are so expensive. That digital sale is so good...

It has begun.

Y'all should be walking down the street with a spring in your step, snapping your poorly drawn fingers to the music of the new and better world to come, like this guy.

This is gonna be big.
Me and Rafa are gonna flip the comics world on its head. You thought Image was revolutionizing comics? You ain't seen nothin' yet.

I'd like digital a lot more if i had a bigger tablet. Manually zooming in is no fun, and guided view is cool but totes not the way comics were supposed to be read. I only read stuff from digital sales, and it's usually stuff i wouldn't have purchased if they weren't on sale

Oh man I have been wanting to get into atomic robo.

25 bucks for 8 volumes is a steal

Man, I totally want to buy this, but I prefer having physical copies for the collected editions. But damn, $25 is such a good deal!

Totally jumped on that bundle, such a good deal.

This is 2014's most anticipated release right here

Actually, I was making a joke about Cheska's spending practices. She caught on. :D

Hahaha, I'm actually trying to control it. Somewhat. I just canceled one of my Sideshow orders a few minutes ago, the Groot/Rocket Exclusive Hot Toy set. I don't mind spending that much money on the premium formats or other 1/4 scale figures, but that price seems too steep for 1/6 scale.

AND my IST order this week was only barely over $50. That's a record low for me!

Onto actual comic mumbo jumbo, SpiderJerusalem's avatar has inspired me to dig out my Loeb/Gates trades.

I think we should have a limit of one Landface per post. Tryant Rave's post almost gave me a heart attack.
Bish, I know you're out there, can you give me a tag that's just a really tiny version of laughinggreglands.jpg? I'll give you a digital code for an issue of Superior Foes if you do. Thanks in advance.

Sigh. There really are some good deals in that Top Shelf sale. Some really good deals on hardcovers, too, especially Heck and Alec. This happens every time Top Shelf have a deal, but I go through, add some stuff to the cart, then steel myself for the shipping cost.

$49.95.

While the discounts on those books do make the shipping price worth it, I just can't support a $50 hit on shipping. Plus, it takes the impulse spend out of the equation: $42 for the books, $49.95 for the shipping. No no no no no no no NO! Go fuck yourself, Top Shelf. I'm not swallowing your late 90's - early 2000's international shipping price gouging.

Yes she is.

Question about the Planetary line up (Snow, Jakita, Drummer, etc...), does Warren Ellis "own" these characters? Or could they potentially show up in the DC Universe? I would love to have a version of them lurking in the background of the New 52.

2 marvel omnibus in 2015 from Marvell
Wow they are including Avengers Forever in the Busiek Omnibus? Awesome.

That's the run that made me an Avengers fan, you really feel the love for the characters pouring from Busiek and Perez. Funny thing is despite being one of the all-time great runs on the series, the new characters it tries to introduce kinda suck in retrospect and never took off afterward.

On that note, finally started reading the first trade of Avengers by Hickman and it's off to a great start. Loved how the new Smasher takes origin in a panel of Morrison's New X-Men. Gotta get New Avengers now.

You just had to bring up Greg Land. Which now makes me think about Spider-Woman, which in turn makes me depressed ;_;

Written by comics superstar Dennis Hopeless doe.
Which reminds me that Undercover is ending tomorrow. I'm excited but also sad. Oh, and after seeing the preview I totally called who the mystery person seen from behind near the end of #7 was.

This Avengers by Kurt Busiak Omnibus is tempting. Still not sure, it I will afford two Omibusses in February, since Matt Fractions FF gets a Omni, too this month.
Also its 30€ expensiver than the other Omnis...

Fuck me, I don't see any quotes.
Haven't started this series yet, so.. Please?

Youve got a PM^^

Todays reason for Messi to consider a cosmic team that has more than a single, token female member is CeCe, aka Thunder, a visitor from the 80th Century gifted with the powers of Shazam! by the then ancient Wizard Billy Batson.

My Jae Lee Batman statue has arrived at my post office this morning.
Helllllls yeahhhh!. I'm anxious to get it and hoping its not damaged or anything.

Just in time too,, finally got the mancave / comicbook room pretty much done at my new house
I will post some pics..
Like it or not!

Well don't leave us in suspense bro. We wanna see ThyComicCave! It better be good cause you've hyped it up pretty hardcore.

superman: birthright, good choice? bad choice? I was also thinking of buying superman for all seasons and superman secret identity.

GH, your commitment to the cause is truly laudable. I can't believe Messi hasn't started reading Legion yet. You're a monster, Messi.

And, just so you know, your message is reaching people. Legion is deifnitely on my list of stuff to read down the road. It is, to me, one of the most beautiful ideas in superhero comics, the way Superman is. A bunch of future kids take inspiration from Superman and become superheroes? That's so optimistic and fun it can't be ignored!

It seems I'll FINALLY get my copy of Multiversity #1 today or tomorrow. Can't wait!

We realized it was incredibly generic and that he has no interest in writing interesting characters. It turned to shit.

It deals with some weird concepts for Superman but it's alright. I think others are good/great. Also I liked Secret Origin.

I can only assume Messi is afraid of falling in love so he pushes it away.

Did you go with a variant cover?

I was just being dumb. I know. I'm just reading the JSA omnibus right now and everytime I see Mid-Nite I just think of Moon Knight.

I figured. Gotta be careful when you're inside the Marvel Den. ;) JSA is going to seem familiar in general for alot of things because as some of the earliest heroes they are the archetypes for what came later.
