The best mission Iv played so far is on Venus.
The one where you enter the Fallen ship. I had a blast on that mission. And the boss wasn't to bad either.
Not that I can see. But hand cannons are ridiculously strong now though. It's my weapon of choice in PvP and PvE. Their precision shot damage is ridiculous. Sure you have more chances of making a mistake and screwing yourself over with the amount of bullets you get, but if you can aim at an enemy and it's 1 v 1 you are guanrateed to win usually. But when you screw up it sucks. I've gotten killed so many times by having to reload while the enemy has plenty of bullets.
Also the sniper rifle with fire damage is ridiculous against knights and wizards. I was at the moon like maybe 1 level above from the recommended mission level and I was two shotting every knight and wizard I saw.
PvP I realize I do better with shotgun. I've tried using sniper but the maps outside of 1 or 2 aren't designed for sniper.
My argument is definitely not silly, at least not more than some complaints in here.I'm going to pretend your list is in a numerical format. Also I'd like to point out that your whole argument is extremely silly.
1. Interesting NPC's =/= Elder Scrolls or rpg's if that's what you're implying. Plenty of other games can have interesting NPC's. An MMO/multplayer game can still have interesting characters. Heck Borderlands, personal opinions on their humor aside, had plenty of interesting side characters that make up the universe, even a villain in Borderlands 2 that was decently well loved. They still had you meeting NPC's for missions. So far all of the NPC's I've met in this game are
a. The Ghost, which is quirky enough but he won't carry the whole game.
b. The Speaker, who doesn't really stand out outside of visuals.
c. A bunch of vendors who speak 3 words to you with no personality whatsoever.
2. Besides the direct enemies you fight you could have wildlife, npcs, etc... plenty of games have done this. Even the Tower feels barren and that's supposed to be the hub world. It lacks life.
3. Missions follow the same formula, to the tee, so far and from what I hear that doesn't change much. If you're enjoying the combat and the co-op aspects that doesn't excuse doing the same thing for each mission in terms of set-up and structure. Not every shooter is like this.

I am a Pulse Rifle/Fusion Rifle guy... looks like I am the only ones that didn't get a big change from beta?^^
How long on average is it taking you to load into mission?I honestly haven't had a problem with loading outside of the tutorial mission. No problems on either my PS3 and PS4.
The thing is, they did - it's just via grimiore cards and not actually in the game. This game is way harder than the beta and I'm happy for it. Our fire team must have been wiped some six times before we made it through the first strike mission - though our group was two level 5s and a level 11 - made things interesting.
There is no story whatsoever as far as I can tell - light good, darkness bad, kill everything and empty their wallets, but that's fine I guess. Bungie just doesn't seem to have it in them to tell a story.
My main problem with the game atm. I love most of it, and the boss fights are usually pretty tense, but damn the letdown when you don't get any instant loot![]()
Does Bungie expect people to understand what the hell is going on? I feel like each mission just spits out some generic quest dialogue with only a few missions getting proper exposition. But those missions don't feel like they are adding up to anything so far.
Beat the campaign as of 1:13 AM (Central). Twas awesome. The gameplay all around is completely solid- I'll definitely be coming back to Destiny for a long time to come. My only disappointment is the story. I don't feel it was presented very well at all. And so much went unexplained even in the main plot let alone the details. I feel very unfulfilled in the story department.
Once you leave it kinda becomes a mess.i've only done the earth missions but they sound pretty connected?

So far, I give the game a 9/10.
Honestly, the gameplay is amazing. A lot of FUN especially with friends.
Story is awful. So are the story missions. Can't believe how rock bottom it is.
This sounds like a typical modern review of a game.

Yeah finding loot chests usually isn't very exciting either. Usually it's pocket change and some materials you could've farmed off the planet itself. =/
So far me and my friend have been playing this all co-op and have gotten through the first mission inVenus and got told to get a Vex Head after visiting the Reef.
We've both been pretty much complaining about how little effort was put into the use of the environments and such. The caves are pretty much copy and paste. I mean the planets themselves aren't really that big at all, so what's up? The Sparrows hardly have much space to be of use. And I see a lot of those dark fog doors that were in the Alpha/Beta that people assumed were just blocked off and would be open for us in the full game, but so far they're all closed off. Really curious to see if they open at all at a certain point.
PvP seems like a step down from Halo so that's not really gonna play too much into the longevity of the game for me. I was just hoping that maybe Bungie saying we haven't seen everything in the Alpha/Beta just meant there's a lot more to do than what we did in the missions, but so far there's not.
So, has anyone gotten to the "ending" of the game? Just wondering since it doesn't seem like there has been a huge fuss about the limited missons/planets/etc yet.
Gonna keep playing until the end, but these are just my feelings towards the game at the moment.
So, after boringly shooting at a boss with two other people for 20 minutes it finally dies and no one gets any loot.
This game is going to get savaged in reviews.
What is the best way to communicate with clan members? For a so called social game Destiny seems a little bare-bones when it comes to communication...

I'm actually fine with this... and I'm the biggest story/lore nerd guy there is.
There is just enough narrative to invest me in the world, and the grimoire cards/loot descriptions I read up on give me a more detailed view of the Destiny Universe, which I enjoy more and more. I applaud the light nature of Destiny, as I play plenty of dark fantasy/sci-fi games and it's nice to hit something a bit lighter to be honest.
I'm absolutely loving the way the game works with other players, and I usually steer clear of co-op like the plague. I play a lot more single player games than multi, but I must say this truly feels like a new type of thing once you are mic'd up with a competent Fireteam.
Exploring/looting/devising tactics/attacking the darkness... it's so much better in a group.
I firmly believe you have to experience Destiny in a Fireteam that communicates in order to 'get' what Bungie are putting down, that's when the magic happens for me.
Yeah! That was definitely one the cooler missions I've played. The best mission Iv played so far is on Venus. The one where you enter the Fallen ship. I had a blast on that mission. And the boss wasn't to bad either.
Seriously?
I know that's a joke but what happened to all that, "Destiny will be like the next Star Wars or Lord of the Rings level of mythology in pop culture," talk?
Actually, since the weapons in Destiny are hitscan, Halo weapons feel more "real bullet" because they use actual projectiles.Wow, this game is polished to all hell and just a damn fun shooter. The combat is very satisfying. I am so glad there are plenty of "real bullet" guns. I absolutely hate laser blasty garbage. The more "real bullet" like the guns there are, the better imo. Halo never clicked with me but the combat in Destiny is awesome so far.
I think The Crucible shouldn't allow power-ups (ie: Golden Gun, Hulk Smash, etc..). It creates a huge imbalance in my opinion and has gotten to the point where I'm flat out annoyed with it.
Just startedmyself, it's my favorite location I've been to so far. TheMarsare amazing fun to fight against, and the location design is amazingCabal
A few thoughts
- Why you can't chat to randoms on the tower is beyond me, seems so stupid. You dance about a little with people see what people are doing then party up and leave the tower together for a mission. The way to invite people into your fire team should be way easier to. Click one button done, no waiting around and taking you to another screen.
- Not sure if because i'm a low rank but I wish there was a game mode where everybody started with same weapons. Because i'm running into people level 20+ and they are killing me instantly due to my lack of arsenal and gear.
- Not enough maps or game modes in the crucible so far.
- I really hate, activate something and defend the area! type missions, and this game has had a lot so far.
- Transporting you out of a mission after you complete it is lame. There should be an option to stay or leave. I find loads of cool places to visit during a mission that i'd like to explore after the objective but i'm sucked right back to my ship after.
I didn't fall for the hype for this game. I played the alpha about 8-10 hours and enjoyed it a lot to start with then got a little samey. The beta I only played for a few hours, and so far the game is exactly the same. I guess I have to just power through and get to the new stuff and hopefully it gets better. I don't regret buying it so far, but its definitely not GOTY or GOAT for me at the moment.
they really need to add a penalty for leaving strikes
